We had a lovely dinner at Tortino! All the members of the waitstaff were attentive to our table and the food was delicious. We will definitely be back!
Excellent food and service
What a perfect dining experience to cap off our week. Timothy and Pedro were so friendly and gracious and dinner was perfectly delicious. We'd make this a regular if we lived in dc. High class dining with a local neighborhood attitude. Many thanks.
The food was good, the service not so much.
Our wine was not delivered until we had almost finished our appetizers. Then there was a one-hour-plus gap between removal of our appetizers and delivery of our entrees, with a nearby large table being served before us even though they had ordered twenty minutes after we did.
The waiter kept apologizing for the kitchen delay, saying there were only two kitchen staff on a Saturday night, but we are in no rush to return.
Fabulous meal which included my lamb ravioli and my friend’s grilled pork chop cooked to perfection.
Tiramisu was memorable as well.
I found it very noisy.
My husband & I took our daughter to celebrate her 21st birthday before a concert. The entire experience was wonderful from start to finish. We each ordered an appetizer (mine was the grilled octopus special which I highly recommend) and an entree. We all enjoyed our meals and the service was exceptional. Our waiter even surprised my daughter with a complimentary dessert with candle and song. The restaurant has a lovely neighborhood feel! We will be back.
Not as enjoyable as our last visit. The food was good but not what we remembered in the past – and pricey for the quality. The service was disjointed. It took multiple requests before our server came to visit us. The hostess, however, was paying attention and stepped in to help out.
Food was great, atmosphere was peaceful! Might have been slightly expensive for the wine quality, but overall, good experience here!
Great dinner with my family and friends. Norvin was a great server! The food was so good and loved everything about dinner at this place! 5/5
-they do not do soda refills.
Delicious as always! Probably the best gnocchi we’ve ever had.
We were suggested this place by our hotel so decided to give it a shot. A nice, small place with a good ambiance. The portions were on the smaller side but so delicious. I got the mushroom appetizer and the risotto of the day, which I would recommend for anyone. Would come back again if in the area.
Great find! Excellent food and service just off the beaten track.
Great, friendly service, Pedro was the best! Food was great, recommend the "chocolate salami" for dessert (don't let the name fool you, it was delicious).
It was okay but I wasn’t crazy about me I options
The food is delicious , the salads , the main course lamb and fish and pasta were very tasty.
And the desserts were also good.
The only negative is the decor was a bit drab and the lighting was dark.
The food was excellent, the waiter very busy but efficient. We'll definitely be back when we visit over Thanksgiving!
Everything was excellent from the wine suggestion, the appetizers and the entrees. Went for my birthday and they had nice additions for the occasion. I will definitely recommend to others.
Service is very good. Friendly.
Went at closing time.
Not much variety to choose at that time.
Found it to be on expensive.
Went here after finding it on google as a going away dinner. Our reservation was at 7:30 and we had to wait long closer to 8 to be seated. Although we had to wait the food and service made up for it. Definitely on my list of favorites now.
Great neighborhood restaurant with great food and filling portions
Food and service is consistently good at this location.
Best Italian food I've had in DC. Really fantastic all around.
Food actually quite good. Service was a problem, could be covid-related. Orders taken very quickly and delivered quickly but simple things like getting water glasses refilled and even paying the check were challenges. Will definitely return and hope they’re able to add an extra server.
Always consistent food and service. Nice wines and the food is excellent.
The food was quite good, especially the home made pasta. The staff was warm, welcoming and professional. There were not a lot of entrees but they were all appealing. When I made the reservation I requested that a candle be put on the dessert as it was my companion's birthday. Four or 5 staff came to table with the dessert and sang "Happy Birthday". The cake decorator was an artist since all the letters and other decorations were in beautiful script. I will add that the restaurant is reasonably priced.
Excellent service. Great atmosphere, cozy but not too quiet. Food came out in a very timely manner. Had the goat cheese gnocchi with ragu it was absolutely amazing. Would definitely go back.
Just delightful unpretentious little neighborhood Italian place in NW DC. Nothing glamorous but simple Nona style cooking with some non-Nona bits. Last night it was a fresh, balanced and perfect tuna tartare. In my experience this dish can be a disappointment . Pre made and served ice cold. Not here.
They say you can tell a restaurant by the bread basket. Here one receives a small bagatelle of crusty on the outside pillowy on the inside bread with a small plate of good olive.
The fettuccine Bolognese was perfect.
No piped in cliche music, nice friendly mixed crowd, a bit of cross table talk. House cocktail is a blood orange martini. It was perfect for a midsummer night. Will be back soon
The staff took good care of us for our anniversary. We will definitely be back!
Great service and food. Portion was however on the smaller end
Service left something to be desired, but food was insanely good.
The food was fantastic! I got the goat cheese gnocchi and it might have been the best pasta I’ve ever had. Everyone else in our group agreed their dishes tasted great, as well as the cocktails. Our group went for a birthday, and I was a little bit disappointed that we got charged for a slice of cheesecake they brought out for the birthday since we didn’t order it. Besides that, experience was fantastic, and would definitely recommend for a nice night out with delicious Italian food.
Food was exceptional and service was impeccable. I will return to this neighborhood gem.
Amazing restaurant! Delicious Italian food! Would definitely recommend!
Fantastic! All good was fresh and delicious! Great bread, excellent salads, pasta homemade!!!!!
food was delicious and waiters were very accommodating
We were delighted to return to Tortino, which reopened recently. It remains one of our favorite restaurants in DC...fabulous food, good service and cozy ambiance.
Wonderful experience! Definitely coming when we visit again.
Simply delicious! Some of the best Italian food in DC, if not the best.
I love love loved this restaurant. Food was delish and the waiter was excellent! I'm looking forward to going there again and again.
Great food…great wine…great service.
