   Mediocre. This restaurant seems like an afterthought after seeing the Living Room and other bars in the hotel. The place does not have the sophisticated and swanky appeal that W hotels are known for.

   We arrived at the restaurant and it was completely empty and it took 30+ minutes to even receive our drinks and the servers were not attentive and did not seem to know what they were doing. Ended up leaving before we could even order food because of the poor service

   Had not eaten here in a while and the experience had gone down hill. Food was average and not worth the price. We had two different servers. The first was poor and slow. The second was a big improvement. Cocktails took over 30 minutes to deliver. Celebrated an 80th birthday with a lot of family. Shame this place was so off. Just. Not. Good. Enough.

   We attended the Beckie’s love is love brunch, great entertainment would definitely recommend. The food was good and wait staff was amazing, drinks were great.

    A friend and myself went to the Drag Brunch and it was extremely fun and entertaining! Maeve, Alysha and the others put on a great show. Additionally, the food and service were top notch! Do yourself a favor and check it out!!!

    The service was poor - server took a long time to greet the table; there were not that many guests in the restaurant and the food took way too long to come out- it ultimately was ok since we were talking and visiting but for eggs and a sandwich it took too long to reach the table

    Was a horrible dining experience. Food New Year’s Brunch offered was awful, service was terrible and was one of the most overpriced dining experiences I have had in Austin.

    The dining broom was very cold. As was the food. An extremely long wait for food that seemed to be frozen and warmed up. Prime rib was gray colored, tough, and cold. All the food was cold. We told the waiter and he said “sorry” and did nothing about it. Patrons were shoulder to shoulder on a long banquette and were all complaining of cold food. For $80/person, this was a huge waste of money. We left there hungry.

    We had the Christmas 3 course dinner for our party of four. I was excited about this option to not have to cook or entertain this year but ended up quite disappointed. The wait for all 3 of our courses was ridiculously long, especially with only limited options on the menu. The wine pairing didn’t come out times with the courses. The service in general was really slow and two of our main courses came out cold and we had to send back. Definitely not worth the $80 + per person. And they auto charged is 20% gratuity which was a rip off for the service received.

    I don't recommend Trace after having Christmas Day dinner there. The food was ok, but shortcuts were taken. No bread was served. No Au Jus or horseradish was served with the Prime Rib. The pecan pie & the cheesecake slices were about as small as you could slice a pie and still call it a slice. I didn't get my ice tea until after the soup & salad was served. Service was slow & bad. It is not as pictured. The restaurant has ugly gray & orange walls. The restaurant was overcrowded. About 1 foot between tables.

    Service was great and we appreciate Trace being open for Thanksgiving. We are highly disappointed, for $80 pp I would expect a better meal than received. Golden Coral serves better food than what was received. Gave off school cafeteria Thanksgiving meal. I did not complain because there were not many restaurants serving Thanksgiving dinner. Two of the desserts that were advertised, were not even provided during the actual meal. Instant mashed potatoes were served. The food was edible but not satisfying and the prime rib was over done.

    Arrived at our reservation time and waited 10 minutes for a host/hostess to show up--no one did. Finally a waitstaff came over and seated us. Hostess came out about 5 minutes later--no acknowledgement of us. Restaurant was not crowded--ordered glasses of the house wine--waited 15 minutes for them and we were within 25 feet of the bar--which also was not busy. Poured us warm water with no offer of ice...Staff was pretty chatty--with each other--and not paying attention to their tables. When Trace first opened some years back, we ate there often and service was excellent and their near-trademark. Food is still very good but limited menu--overall, has gone down hill, especially on the service side for what is supposed to be fine dining.

    We had drinks and the charcuterie board before a show at the ACL Moody. The hibiscus margaritas were delicious, and the board had a nice variety of cheeses, meats, and spreads. It’s all a bit pricey but no more so than most places in the area. Great location if you’re going to the ACL Moody theater.

    Our server was very rude and rushing us the whole time to order, food took over an hour to come out and then she was rushing us to leave before our table was cleared and one of us hadn’t even finished her food. The drag show was great. The food had terrible portions (very small and over priced for what you get). Will most likely not return.

    The portions were meager and the execution was average. This restaurant should not be empty on a Saturday night when it is right next door to the Moody Theater. Why can’t they offer a better menu and have better trained staff? Who manages this place? The only reason I’ve ever gone there is because it’s close to Moody and they always have last minute availability. Why don’t they try paying their staff so they can perform at an appropriate level for Austin Texas ?

    The food was well-prepared, but not memorable. The restaurant is very understaffed, and the wait staff we did engage did not know much about the food and even less about the wine and drink selection. We had to run down our wait person to ask her to bring our food that was sitting under heat lamps in the kitchen after waiting for nearly an hour an hour for our meals. There was musician playing so loud we had to yell over the music the entire two hours. We had eaten at Trace a few times in the past, and we always had an enjoyable experience. We were very disappointed with this experience. We won't be dining here again.

    Trace at the W is the one restaurant I know that has one of the best Drag Brunch I’ve ever been too. First off before i get into that, the restaurant itself is so welcoming to everyone. Our waitress who i unfortunately cannot remember her name (medium height with glasses and dark hair pulled back in a pony tail) was so sweet, on top of her A-game and making sure we were taken care of the whole time. The food, specially the Avocado toast, was so good. The drinks were amazing, one of the reasons why i love their drag brunch is that on those days they have themed drinks! I’ve been to quite a few drag brunches there and it never disappoints. Over all atmosphere is so fun! The host Vylette Ward is all about getting the energy going and having the audience have a great time. I always see people walking by, and actually stop and watch with smiles at how much fun the show is. If you’re ever in town check this place out. It def is a fun experience. Thanks for having such a fun event! Truly an experience worth while.
