   Excellent restaurant with a wonderful, contemporary decor and exemplary service. I made my reservation on-line and simply checked "anniversary" as the special occasion. As soon as we walked in, we were greeted with many "happy anniversaries" which continued throughout the excellent service. Complimentary champagne and other items, which were special touches. Food was not outstanding, but still very good, and the service was superb. My only wish is that they had a more diverse menu.

   As always the food was superb, the service level is off the charts, and Stephan remains incredibly gracious. Everything about it was great. My friend absolutely thought it was spectacular.

   Salmon tartare on deep fried chips were terrible. Duck confit was dried out. Suspected it was deep fried not pan sautéed. Waiter was very good. We were sitting in an area off the main floor in front of a storage area.

   Underwhelming experience at Trummers. For the amount we paid, the quality and flavors of the dishes fell far below our expectations. Very pricey entrees that did not deliver the value we expected. Really disappointed in the desserts, with chocolate cheesecake that had an overly dense texture, and a pound cake that was incredibly dry. Unfortunately, the descriptions of the meals were far more interesting than the meals themselves. Ambiance was nice though…

   Great ambiance and service. Not someone who orders seafood but had the tuna steak based on service recommendation. It was pretty dang good! I'd definitely go back (look forward to it) and recommend the Titanic cocktail (dangerous).

    We went here for my birthday and it was our first time eating at Trummer’s. The entire experience was great and I loved the quiet ambience in the upstairs dining area. Food was also amazing. Can’t wait to come back when I’m not pregnant for happy hour!

    Food was very good and the happy hour prices and wine were a fantastic bargain. Service was good but a bit haphazard. I felt bad that our waiter seemed to be the only one serving but he had a few helpers. Will definitely go back. Food was very good and the combinations were interesting and delicious.

    Once our favorite restaurant in the DC area - no longer. Service: fantastic. What a great wait staff! Ambiance: good. we love the restaurant and bar - kinda quirky and fun. Food: it's just not that good. we didn't enjoy our meal. this was the prix fixe menu for Mother's Day and we tried a little bit of everything. We did agree that the short ribs were good; otherwise the meal was not up to the price (or what we had once expected of drummer's). I think Trummer's might be on borrowed time - living on a legacy established long ago. Clifton is adorable, but it isn't worth the drive for Trummer's.

    Never get tired of the hospitality at Trummers. The staff is warm and engaging. The food is outstanding. Their cocktails menus is creative. Everything is great so no worries in trying something new.

    Trummers always offers an experience to look forward to. The wait staff was exceptional, and listened to our every need. The chef was accommodating to a member of our party who was a vegetarian, and made sure he had options for every course. The short rib was melt in your mouth tender, and the chocolate cheesecake was decadent, with a few tangy orange bites to cut through the richness. The pound cake was actually too much, with two delicious, large pieces in one serving. The only complaint was the noise level was a little high with families and children in a small space. Great wine list too!

    We had a lovely experience at Trummer’s! The space is beautiful and open and has a great ambiance. Food and drinks were amazing. The bone marrow with bread and jam was one of the best things I’ve ever tasted. Service was great. Perfect for an anniversary or birthday celebration!

    Trummer's has consistently excellent food and service. It's a relaxed, lovely atmosphere to dine in. A great restaurant gem to find in this area of Fairfax.

    Everything about my first time eating at Trummers was good from the service and ambiance to the food. I particularly liked the mashed Jerusalem Artichoke and the chicken was deliciously crispy and moist.

    My husband and I frequent Trummer’s 6-8 times per year. Sometimes it’s for a special occasion, sometimes just an impromptu break in the week. But since they’ve become a Bistro, it doesn’t feel as special anymore. The staff is always amazing, but the food has become a bit more common, less unique. We will probably start venturing out to find our new special place. 😞💔

    With so many disappointing dining experiences lately (we understand why, of course) it was a particular pleasure to dine at Trummer's last night. All of the dishes we excellent (oh my goodness, the asparagus salad!!!) and the service was excellent! Thank you for a wonderful evening.

    The menu midweek is fairly short, but also exceptional quality. there is something for everyone. The wine list is outstanding, and our waiter (Joe) was great fun. His top-quality descriptions of the food and knowledge of the menu was excellent. Too many of the things we chose for our party of 5 were beyond comparison, if not sublime. I love Trummer's, am blessed it's close by and last nights dinner (Apr 2022) confirmed why we keep coming back. Thanks to the Chef, owner, bar tender and staff. Top notch!

    Great service, food and ambiance. Asked for a last-min request to print my parents' names on the menu, and it was delivered! They were so grateful. Portions are on the smaller side and spreads do not come with the vessel (bread).

    Went for Easter fixed priced dinner. Ordered the deviled egg smoked salmon appetizer , received beef tartar with salted beets instead. Next the lamb course which ended up being more of a stewed lamb chickpea dish . Tasted good , not what I expected . Finally the dessert was supposed to be a lavender scented pavlova with lemon curd and fresh berries . Instead got a hard chunk of merengue , no lemon curd, or lavender, or a pavlova of any shape or form , berries scattered on plate . The most disappointing Easter meal I’ve ever had . In fact one if the worst meals period . Will not be returning!!

    We had a 2 pm reservation - seated on-time. However, the delivery of food (3 course fixed price) was incredibly slow. By the time our check arrived, it was 4:30pm. Waiter was cordial, but clearly something was wrong in the long delays in receiving appetizer, entree and finally dessert. Realize it was Easter dinner, but Trummer's should have had better organization and service. Food was very good, but the extremely long waits between courses negatively impacted the whole meal. Will be cancelling future reservation as a result of this episode.

    My family had a great Easter brunch. The restaurant seemed to be fully booked, and thus, our server was very busy. The food serving was also somewhat delayed. My family was starving, and my complaint started to grow in my mind. However, every bad feeling disappeared after I tasted the food. So delicious. I can say that it was an awesome dish. Hope to visit again, probably in a not busy time.

    We hadn’t been since they changed the theme from Trummers on Main to Trummer’s American Bistro. The food quality and service (wine knowledge by server was on point!) remain at a very high level. However, I feel like they should’ve kept the older high class vibe. It was definitely more airy, but felt like there was a general disconnect between the decor and the experience. It remains a high end spot. Only real criticism beyond decor was time to first plate. We ordered a wine flight (3x3oz pours) and had finished by the time the appetizer arrived almost 50 mins in.

    The food, when we got it, was mostly really good. But we waited 45 min for appetizers, with little explanation. They offered us free bread, which didn't show up for another 20 minutes, AFTER the appetizers finally came. Then we waited even longer for the main course. I know stuff happens, but be more upfront about what's going on. Providing some bread while we wait is an "ok" response, not great, and was made even worse when we got that late, too. We just sat quietly and smiled and enjoyed the food when we finally got it, but we aren't tempted to go back.

    In a beautiful conservatory setting, our excellent dinner was a feast for all our senses. Rare and flavorful, often super local ingredients enhance every item on the menu. My spouse loves all the meat and fish entrees, all featuring that extra chef touch. As a vegetarian I am always excited to see what new wonderful creations chef has in store, this time it was super yummy farro dish. Great polite kind service has always been our experience with Trummers’. Treat yourself to joy on a plate one night soon.
