I went with my friend and we had afternoon tea. Obviously the tea was amazing. The service was perfect (which I was quite worried about after seeing other reviews ). The staff could not be more helpful and polite. The setting is beautiful and great location. Afternoon tea was okay, not the best I've had but quite nice. macaroons were really nice.
Great setting in Leicester Square, a very nicely decorated room with tables well separated and spacious. Fantastic tea menu and some very well made accompaniments such as croque monsieur, afternoon tea, scone etc. They can get very busy and you may need to be a little patient but it’s worth it.
Beautiful place if you want to fall in love with the tea culture the people there specially Errady Khadijja made us realice how beautiful is cup of tea and the importance of the quality you have at the store. Thanks a lot also the the people in the Tea Salon their attentions were incredibly nice.
Disappointed. The tea cafe is nicely set in the heart of Leicester Square, great location, nice big room with lovely decor but shame about the food and service.
3 of us ordered 2 of the London tea set, £28.50@ which include:- 4 finger sandwiches , 2 scones & 5 patisseries, and one ordered just simply tea with 2 scones.
Finger sandwiches were just passed standard, scones were a little chewy not flaky nor light. Our order included 6 scones and we were only given one set of butter and jam ?! Can't be bothered to ask for more as waiters weren't the friendliest people on earth. From the moment order was taken til the end when table was cleared, they had plain face throughout, I observed their behaviour at other tables and they had no facial expression neither let alone a smile, so at least it wasn't just towards us, but what's wrong with them !!!! On the other hand the waitress who we asked the direction to the washroom was friendly and helpful , smile on her face.
The small fruit tarts, macaroon and all the rest of the patisseries were average.
The only good thing of the whole afternoon was the tea, we had Assam, Singapore and Tiger Hill, all very nice with great aroma of their own. But you only get half filled of the giant tea pot, with no refill, the pot of tea they provided definitely NOT enough for you to last all the food included in the set. Unless you wanna order another half filled pot of tea !!!
I will have no doubt to buy their tea from the shop on the ground floor but never again eating at the cafe.
I love their scones and tea so much. The table where I sat is absolutely beautiful with a wall of flower painting!
A very enjoyable experience for all in our group of diverse tastes, beautiful setting, and a nice education on tea. Highly recommend reservations!!
There are too few service staff, the speed of serving food is very slow, they are not familiar with the contents of dishes, and the overall cost performance is too low
The teas were excellent. Had the English tea service and would recommend maybe just the scones. The sandwiches were passable but the curried chicken recipe needs a rework. It seemed like there was only one pot of tea for the service which was not much. The location, ambiance and service was very good and for that reason and the decent tea, recommend the place.
The tea room is beautiful and when we visited was beautifully decorated for Christmas. We arrived on a busy Sunday afternoon and they told us the tea room was fully booked but the checked on Opentable and found us a spot. The tea selection is immense and some good cakes too. I want to go back to try the high tea.
Poor service, extremely slow — from being seated to taking our order to serving the food. Very inflexible with dietary requests. And not child friendly. The scones were very light and fluffy but the bread on the tea sandwiches was very cold and heavy.
The service was poor (very slow and not that attentive) as it should be.
This is a lovely haven above Leicester Sq. The service staff are lovely but run off their feet, so service is SLOOOOW. Don’t leave it until the last minute to ask for your bill - especially if you have a show to get to. Again, the servers themselves are great but there needs to be a lot more of them.
Disappointed. The afternoon tea is very expensive and for one person only really, which is not shared on the menu or by the waiters upon ordering. You have to buy extra sandwiches, patisseries or scones on top of the already expensive package, or buy two. It also includes only one tea, so you would have to buy another at minimum £7.
Sharing a teapot is not an option as they are only half filled, despite their size.
The service was VERY slow, we had to ask to get our food at the same time as our tea as it was getting cold.
I would not go again, despite the food being really good. It's not worth the money, and feels like a robbery.
We were very disappointed about the service we had at TWG Leicester Square and would not recommend it to anyone.
We booked a table for 12:30 pm on Sunday and were offered a menu which stated tea time was available from 2pm to 6pm. Originally we wanted to have afternoon tea but after seeing that, we ordered from the lunch menu instead. When we had our food, we saw that the guests at the table behind us were having afternoon tea. We then asked the waitress about it and she said afternoon tea was available from 11:30am and “you should have asked us”. We were really angry - how could we suppose to know to ask whilst your menu clearly states 2-6? Very disappointed about the service we received. The lunch was not worth it at all. Would not return for sure. We went to the one in Hong Kong and the qualify of food and service there was on another level.
A very well presented place specialising in tea, light meals etc. A bit of a haven in Leicester Square. They were very busy when we arrived but the staff were lovely, the tea is amazing and the food was very good. 100% recommended.
Lovely! I enjoyed my afternoon tea. Great service and food. I will be back.
Great place! I really enjoyed it and it’s not super expensive like most hotels in London.
Nice service but inefficient
We waited for a desert menu for almost an hour then decided to leave
The food was ok but not amazing and not very generous
The tea is absolutely amazing and the atmosphere is nice
The mockteas are really refreshing and tastes good. The place is beautiful.
We had a lovely time. A definite treat! The staff was very helpful, the room was lovely and the location was convenient. Right in the middle of the theatre district. The tea shop on the first floor had a tremendous selection.
A very impressive setting and the food was nice. The cakes were perfect. The service however was not welcoming, attentive or helpful.
Great tea and food.... Service was slow and inattentive. I felt as though I needed to flag them down to get any attention at all.
When we were first seated, we waited for 20 minutes before I finally decided to just flag someone down myself.
Beautiful location and amazing selection of tea. One of the best afternoon tea sessions I have had. Definitely somehwhere to go for a special occasion as it is very classy and you get what you pay for!
Amazing place for teas, they have 1000+ different flavours of teas to experience and chose from.
Had a lovely time. Staff were lovely and food was good.
Terrible service. Waited 25 mins. After food was served to get our tea and champagne. Assistant Manager was our server. Never told us they were having a problem with the tea service. Asked for manager. She said she was manager. Was not able to get any assistance from her. She just kept making excuses. At end of meal Lowder(sp) a server from Portugal came over to clean up. Told her our issue with the wait and lack of response from AM. She immediately apologized profusely, went to the AM and told her we were unhappy and needed accommodations. Came back and took the service charge off check and helped my daughter pick out six macrons, complimentary. Day saved by Lowder!
Afternoon tea service was very nice and food came quite quickly. TWG tea has 800 different selections of tea but waiter wasn't very helpful when asked to help with selecting a blend of tea, so we had to look in a book provided with information about the blends to decide. TWG tea has a very pretty restaurant and overall we were quite pleased.
We ha afternoon tea and enjoyed it very much. The food was excellent and the choice of teas mind-boggling! My daughter is quite a tea connoisseur and she was impressed with the teas.
If you like tea you really must visit as there is a huge choice of teas (800!) The staff are polite, helpful and knowledgeable and did a great job recommending a beautiful tea for me. For my teenage daughter they recommended a caffeine free ice tea - she loved it! We went for the afternoon tea and can also say that the quality of the food was on a par or better than London hotels offering afternoon tea. At the price point it really offers value for money. The jelly they give for the scones is really quite something.
Love the tea here !
Stunning location and service to match..I will be rushing back
We tried the TWG Tea a few times and the food was great, freshly cooked very tasty and well presented. Compliments to the chef! The staff were friendly and efficient, the service was attentive and very good. Overall an enjoyable experience and great value we will certainly be going back for more.
Nos encanta este lugar, muy tranquilo, comida deliciosa, variedad de tés impresionante. El servicio de los meseros es excelente también, atentos y amables.
