Set in the GOCHI food hall at Capital Square, Unaemon is a Japanese restaurant with a focus on Unagi - Japanese sea eels. Unaemon applies the traditional Kanto cooking method, with eels first being grilled over hot charcoal before being steamed, seasoned, then grilled three more times. The restaurant itself is small, modern and cosy, and you can watch the chefs at work through the glass panel in front of the kitchen. Unagi is served a few different ways; unaju, hitsumabushi and unagi bento, which all come with side dishes like broth, rice, soup and pickles. Presentation is just as beautiful as the food itself and makes for an immersive and authentic Unagi experience in Raffles Place.
