   From starter to dessert all was delicious. We had Rockfeller Oysters, schrimp croquettes, special fries (fantastic), cod, seabream and we finished with a perfect speculos parfait.The service was very nice and efficient. We'll return to Van Speyk for sure next time we'll be in Amsterdam.

   Really delicious food and attentive service. Lovely atmosphere that was buzzing but not noisy. Food and wine was pricey but we had a really great time.

   What a lovely place. The staff is very friendly, helpful and skilled. They don't have a very large menu, but all the items on the menu are good. We really enjoyed the great food in a nice environment.

   mooie ambiance, vriendelijke personeel, leuke kaart, beetje ouderwets maar correct. Veel inloop, komt ook door rommelige buurt buiten. Locatie is Centrum maar geen hippe of nette buurt.

    Van Speyk es uno de los mejores sitios a los que he ido en Ámsterdam, su cocina es espectacular y creativa, la selección de vinos no es la mas grande pero cada vino tiene una razón para estar en la lista, el menú es igualmente pequeño sin que se necesite más pues a cada cosa se le imprime excelente creatividad culinaria y exquisito toque únicamente encontrado en Van Speyk. Recomiendo este lugar escondido entre canales de la ciudad que revela la nueva cocina mundial con toques de aquí y de allá conjuntados con gran pasión. Felicidades

    I booked this due to its closeness to our hotel and other reviews and we were not disappointed. The staff were super friendly, the ambience was even better than the pictures portrayed and the food was excellent. Beautifully presented and tastes were amazing. If you are in Amsterdam give this place a go !!

    This was our second time dining at the restaurant. Our last visit to Amsterdam was almost 8 years ago. The staff and food remains excellent! We had an amazing time and will definitely return whenever we visit Amsterdam!

    Excellent kitchen in this classy, chandeliered restaurant in a strip of restaurants. Great service as well as great food and wine. Civilization at its best. I had oysters, halibut and creme brulee, washed down with a bottle of Pouilly Fume. All were delicious.

    This is not a Dutch restaurant…..more French and a little bit of Dutch food. All was fine until l ordered Kahlua and cream. They had none but it took him forever to tell me that. Waited for eternity while my dining partner got tea and Bailey’s. Then the bill took forever and so did payment.

    Service was excellent and the atmosphere was beautiful. The Lobster:shrimp bisque was quite good as was the bread. I ordered the dish that is built around a filet of beef. When it was served I took one bite and could not chew it. It was extremely tough and gristly. I thought to myself, maybe it was just that first bite. After three I gave up. I could not eat it. I tried. I thought, I’ll just eat the accompanying vegetables. Small potatoes grossly undercooked. My husband’s halibut dish was great. I guess I just picked the wrong dish. Should have known better than to order steak in a port city. Kind of like ordering seafood in west Texas! Our waiter was very accommodating and nice. I was just going to let it go, but he was very attentive and noticed that I wasn’t eating my meal. He took my food to the chef and he agreed that the steak was not up to their usual quality and took the charge off of our bill. I appreciated this and we still tipped at what the charges would have been. I would probably give it another chance, but I would recommend the seafood dishes!

    Great dining room. Food was ok albeit a little overpriced. But there was a problem in the kitchen and our main took over an HOUR to arrive! We were offered a free glass of wine but that didn’t really make up for this situation. I think the restaurant has a staff issue and they should have been honest about this from the start! Not good value at all.

    Just reopened after the Plague. We were literally the first customers. Great experience. New chef, beautiful old but very chic restaurant.. Pleasant and helpful servers. Step above the average, even though located a stones throw from the RLD. Highly recommended.
