Overall we had a good experience but we expected a bit more. Being BOYB is a great thing but it tends to lead to very high entree prices , which makes sense! The service was great. Sweet younger workers but very attentive. The atmosphere could use some work to fit the vibe they are going for, which has been mentioned in other reviews. The food was good, but not what we were expecting for $40 entrees. We enjoyed the octopus but it was on the saltier side so I could only handle a bit of it. My husband got the samurai salmon and enjoyed it. I got angel hair pasta with crab meat which was good but some sort of veggie or white wine would have made it more balanced for sure! Overall we would go back to try their brunch!

Chose the short rib entree, it was excellent, tons of flavor and very tender. Mash potatoes were very good.Difficult to decide on an entree because everything is so good, salads are very special, not your typical boring bowl of lettuce.

Velo has added Branzino to their new menu , my wife and I often order this fish . The chef’s unique presentation and flavorful sauce make this dish one of the best Branzino choices in the area. The chef continues to present an outstanding mastery of food, seasoning and sauces. The staff makes dining an enjoyable experience.

Ahi tuna was delicious! Nice large Caesar salad, dressing so-so. Service was super fast, almost too fast. Would definitely eat here again as the entree is most important and that was delicious. They opened our wine but did not offer to pour it. Was surprised at that as with an over $110 meal, would’ve expected a little higher level of service.

1st time, but not last time, at this terrific restaurant. Our seafood dinners were excellent, as was the service. Love that it's BYOB. Only "negative" is that the physical space is pretty ordinary. If they plan to remain at this location, they might consider doing some decorating, dimming the lighting a bit, maybe curtaining off the serving station, and moving or removing the refrigerator/soda machine that currently sits in the dining room.

Food was spectacular and the service was excellent! We ordered the fried mozzarella as an appetizer, angel hair pasta with grilled shrimp, faro salmon, and filet mignon with crabmeat. Every dish was delicious and appropriately portioned. The steak and salmon were both cooked perfectly! We also got the walnut blueberry layer cake for dessert, which was delicious—light, yet very flavorful. Would strongly recommend Velo for a nice dinner in Ventnor. BYOB

Lovely little spot - attentive service, somewhat limited menu but solid choices. Some entrees were a bit pricey for what you get. The refrigerators filled with soft drinks on either side of the restaurant in plain view of diners were a bit distracting and seemed to ruin the vibe.

As a local Realtor I have not had time to enjoy many restaurants this summer as I didn’t plan in advance. We chose Velo last night and wow, I had forgotten how delicious their food is and how much I love it there! HIGHLY recommending!!!! The tuna tartare is a must!

This was a follow up dinner. When I visited two weeks ago everything was fine except the dinner special I had. This evening I had the halibut that was on the menu. It was excellent. One of my dinner partners also thought it was delicious. All enjoyed their dinners. Service was excellent. I did not pay for the meal so I cannot give the cost per person. I will visit again.

There were three of us and each had an appetizer/salad, a main course and dessert. The cost was $70 per person before tip; since Velo is BYO, the cost did not include drinks. The first and last courses were very good. We each had something different and enjoyed it. The service was prompt, friendly and solicitous. The halibut entree was five star. The guest said it was the best she ever had. The lobster ravioli with crab meat was very good. The guest especially enjoyed the blush sauce. The last entree was the special of the night. It was beef tips with shrimp. Upon tasting it, it reminded me of Congress- two parties that don’t work together. The well prepared, high quality shrimp were overwhelmed by the the beef tips and they were abetted in their assault by mushrooms. I would not get it again. There is much good to be said for Velo and so I will give it another try soon and hope that all the parts can work together better.
