    We went for steaks but were there for brunch menu- the shrimp cakes were awesome & blueberry waffles were super tasty. The boudin Benedict was not the best, drinks were good but very $$ - beautiful ambiance and it was quiet.

    Our experience wasn't as great as in the past. They were short staffed with what looked like 2 waitresses for the whole restaurant. Took over an hour to get our appetizers but food came out pretty quickly after. Risotto was undercooked but steaks and scallops were great. It was hard to get drinks, if at all. I'm sure this isn't the norm so we will def be back.

    I thought the food was delicious. We did the Thanksgiving Price Fixe and we all thought the portions were meager especially the Turkey course. We all came home and were like we need to eat again. For what was $125 per person with drinks we should have been full for Thanksgiving meal.

    I had visited with my family over a Christmas week about 3 years ago and remeber it being a great experience. Because of this, I wanted to come back with my in laws. Present day, went for early dinner on a Wednesday before Thanksgiving so it wasnt packed. Ambiance of this place is cool but the food took an hour to come out. The BBQ Shrimp was delicious although not a generous portion you'd expect for a NOLA restaurant. The roasted chicken was overly salty and dry, also a smaller portion. Caesar salad with chicken came out with very little dressing tossed in it, chicken itself was also dry. Considering the prices of this restaurant, you would expect higher end skill of the dishes and/or bigger portions. I think they're trying to be sophisticated for look and feel but it misses the mark with the food. The bartender and waitresses were very nice and attentive. Unfortunately the long wait for the food and quality of the dishes isn't worth the price you pay. Unless you're only looking for a cocktail at the bar with that specidic atmosphere, you're better off going to neighborhood restaurant Mandina's or Katie's also right up the street. As a NOLA native, I will not be going back nor recommending Vessel.

    Amazing Food! Vessel is one of our favorite restaurants in the country. Not only is the food fantastic, the ambiance is truly one of a kind! The scallops and seafood pasta were some of the best dishes we have ever had anywhere. Drinks were great also. Every time we are in New Orleans Vessel is always on our list and never disappoints. We look forward to our next visit.

    This was a fun stop for dinner while waiting to pickup folks at the airport. Convenient well-lit parking, lovely atmosphere, great service. There were several mocktails on the menu - I tried the Old Fashioned which was surprisingly good. Bourbon drinks are a hard one to replace. The bartender did a great job with all the cocktails. The website described unique barware vessels - this must have been abandoned for practical reasons. The glasses were pretty regular. Wine by the glass selections were very good. The menu was surprisingly not as local seafood centered. There was fish, crab, shrimp and scallops - all on risotto or pasta or steeped in cream and cheese. It was good but not ‘about’ the local seafood. A lot of it was hidden in the sauce. There was blackened gulf drum and fried soft shell crabs that my husband loved (new menu item), but I opted for the salmon because it was simply cooked, it was delicious but of course, not a gulf fish. All perfectly prepared.  Tasted the shrimp cake and crab dip. I’d skip the dip - crostini was soft and overly salty. Sides are big enough to share. Deserts looked great but in the end, we were too full to try. Big portions - two crabs, two salmon fillets. Casual atmosphere, great service, would go again.

    Terrible food. So disappointed as I was really looking forward to dining at this restaurant. The server dumped the cheese plate on our table and didn’t bother to describe the cheeses to us . My Caesar salad came with burned chicken, stale croutons, minimal dressing and no Parmesan. The service was otherwise good.

We do have a few trainees that were on shift the night you dined, so I will bring this feedback to them regarding going over the cheeses on the cheese plate. I am sorry to know your Caesar salad wasn't up to your expectations. In the future, please do not hesitate to let your server or a manager know about issues before leaving. We make an effort to check back and make sure everyone is satisfied, but we can't fix what we don't know is wrong. I apologize again for the errors and will dedicate my team to doing better.

    The food and drinks were amazing. However, The star of the night was Glen. His energy and attentiveness was unmatched. I have never had a waiter like him. He truly made our whole night. Come here for food, but for the best experience, ask for Glen. You won’t regret it!

    Hi Lisa, I'm very sorry you didn't have a great experience. I do recall your table, and I remember removing your beverage you didn't enjoy from the bill. I wish I had known that you felt your staff was unfriendly so I could address the issue. Our service is usually exceptional, however we are human and do make mistakes and are affected by ill fate. The night you dined we were shorter staffed than we should have been due to two emergencies with our FOH staff. I hope should you try us again, you change your mind about us.

    Happy-hour drinks are half the normal size. The food portions are good but on the oily and salty side. Service was slow, given that we were the only table at 4 PM. The chocolate cake would have been great if it was not still frozen. Heavy metal music was not in accord with the ambiance. This was my second time visiting, and in contrast to my first time a couple of years ago, the value has considerably gone down. I am from Houston, TX, and would reconsider the 8-hour round trip to visit again. I still would recommend it for its unique atmosphere, but would caution about the food and service expectations, overall is good, not excellent!

    This was a disappointing experience. First I called to add a friend who came from out of town to our reservation. I was told there was no room and all the seats were reserved. Major lie. The restaurant was less than 50% occupied the entire time we were there. Second when we arrived at the hostess stand another staff member came over and in a not so polite tone and asked (told) us to hold on while they were resolving another matter. It would’ve taken less than a minute to seat us and matter discussed (in front of us as we waited) was non-urgent and could’ve waited. Third the food was so-so. I give them credit for the decor but they need to work on their people skills. I would’ve left when they sat us down but we were meeting new friends and I had to pay a deposit. With so many options in NOLA to dine at, I won’t be dining here again.

    Hi Michelle, Thank you for your feedback. I apologize for the hiccups in your service. I will address the issues with the host stand and my staff. Sometimes we do have no shows creating a situation where something we say on the phone ends up not being accurate when the time of your reservation comes. Additionally, we have another dining area on our patio that was very busy at the time of your reservation and our kitchen can only hand so many plates without affecting overall service. We will work on the issues presented in your visit and hope that should you visit us again you have an exceptional experience.

    The ambiance of this place was beautiful and I really enjoyed the music they were playing. The food and drinks were absolutely delicious and the fried calamari was the best I’ve ever tasted!!!! I would definitely eat here again.

    An absolutely amazing experience. The atmosphere was very laid back. Service was amazing, two waiters took care of us so we were never neglected. The restaurant is in an old church and is absolutely beautiful. The food was simply amazing. The pork bell was to die for. 10/10

    We had a large table (12, which can be understandably hectic) but there were only three other tables at the restaurant and it still took an hour to get four drinks. Our server went MIA most of the time, we didn’t get half of the things we ordered. Patience and good company made it enjoyable.

    Hi, I'm so sorry you were negatively impacted by our staffing issues yesterday. We originally had 2 more servers scheduled for our Brunch shift. We were seated heavy on our patio at the time as well and I just didn't have enough people for the floor or the bar. I assure you that usually we can take care of a party your size with ease when we are appropriately staffed. I hope you forgive us and come see how well we can handle ourselves when we are firing on all cylinders. My deepest apology again.

    Beautiful building, they took time to read my profile and seating me outside, nice patio. Starter, crab au gratin, delicious. It was creamy with nice chucks of crab, the toast points are even better, the bread is made in house by the chef. It’s a rosemary chibatta. Recommend I had the shrimp cake for my main. Out of this world good. A perfect alternative to a crab cake. It had whole shrimp, with a mixture of bread and seasoning. Topped with a zesty lemon, cream sauce. I would definitely go back again.

    We had a great time- the drinks were strong, the service was prompt and attentive. The food was outstanding- I had scallops with risotto and my sister had the crab special. The church atmosphere is beautiful.

    I love the decor here, it’s beautiful. That said, the acoustics are awful; it was so loud it was very hard to have a conversation. The food was good: highly recommend the pork belly appetizer with fried green tomatoes if you go; steak au poivre was excellent with mashed potatoes and a lovely sauce. My friend had the crab appetizer which was good; his scallops were also lovely but the risotto a bit undercooked. I think we both would have enjoyed it more if we hadn’t been rushed through the courses. We had barely started our appetizers when our entrees arrived. Then my friend had to wait 10 minutes to order a glass of wine to accompany his dinner. They were very very busy so this may have affected timing but for a place with this reputation they should’ve been able to manage that better. Solid dinner but I probably won’t go back.

We are not immune to the current staffing issues in our current world climate, but you are absolutely right we should have done better with pacing.
