About
Amazing food, great service! Very casual atmosphere, could be a little cozier better ambience - feels more like a chain. Given the choice between food or ambience they chose the right one!
Chicken Parmiagana was overcooked and rubbery tasting. Good thing there was lots of sauce on it. Spaghetti was good. Desserts were good.
The meat and cheese platter wasn’t as good as the last time we were there. So a bit disappointed
There were four of us. We had guests from Calgary to celebrate my wife’s all clear cancer results. Our waiter asked us if we were celebrating anything. When we told him, he surprised us at the end of our meal with a complimentary dessert on a specially decorated plate with the words “You’re amazing” emblazoned across it. This little gesture made our already wonderful evening very memorable as we were so touched by such a kind gesture.
Food and wine were delicious! Best gnocchi I've ever had, and the service was awesome. Definitely recommend giving this place a try - it's a new favourite of ours for sure!
The service was fair at best, we had to ask for everything (pepper, cheese etc.) Too much noise for having a nice evening out. Nothing like the other Vivo. The food was okay at best. Would not go back.
We were in and out in just over an hour. Sat in the bar and let staff know we were going to a movie. Food was served with time to enjoy the meal. Will definitely go again.
Thank for the awesome review see you soon.
Overall we enjoyed our experience.
Pros:
The food was great.
We were able to reserve a table last minute for valentines.
The waiter was friendly.
Cons:
The tables were far too close together, especially on valentines.
The waiter kept forgetting to bring drinks, menus etc. (However, it was obviously a busy night).
No parking due to the movie theatre being in the same parking lot.
Although we reserved a table, we had to wait for the previous couple to finish up before we could be seated.
We’ll go back on a less busy night to try it out again!
Kitchen and staff made it a wonderful Valentine's Day experience! Shortrib was fork tender and there was a lot more seafood than expected in the seafood linguine. Would definitely recommend!
Glad you enjoyed your Valentine's Day, thank you for visiting us, please come again
Quiet atmosphere which was good. Overall would easily come back
Thanks for your review, we will be more than happy to have you again
I thought the beef was excellent although a little overprice, my partner was not happy with their meal and the way it was prepared. Overall it was okay but I will not add it to my top 5 list of places to go. Sorry, it was not bad it just was not great
We had a great meal at Vivo Windermere with friends. The food was excellent and so was the service. We will be back!
Thanks for the awesome review, see you soon
We had just come over from the Cineplex across the way and we were promptly seated in a quiet corner of the restaurant. Our server was exceptional. Attentive, but not obtrusive. His service was appreciated by all of us.
The food was of excellent quality: served hot and very tasty. We’ll be back!
Thanks for the great review, see you soon
Pasta was too salty. Waiter didn’t refill our water glasses-they were empty for a long time. He wasn’t busy.
We dined here before a movie. Arrived for our 5:00 reservation. The place was not busy at the time. Wings arrived cold, sent them back. The pizza was only warm. I thought with wood fired pizza it should be piping hot. Cheese on top wasn’t even melted. Wait staff was good but for the price of our meal I expected much more. Half price wine during happy hour but when the regular price is 18.00, you’re not really getting a great deal! No concession given for the wings and the wait for them to pop them in the microwave. Won’t likely return.
I liked the ease of booking online and the reminders of our reservation. Liked the look and feel of the restaurant. Our server was excellent.
Service was good at the start and at the end waiting for the bill
Took awhile. The food was not what I expected from Vivo lessard. Pizza was adequate. Spaghetti and meatballs was soggy. Very disappointed.
The service was good. the meal was recommended for two but we were disappointed in the quantity of vegetables and salad, definitely portioned for one. we didn’t complain but definitely left wanting More. food tasted great ambiance was loud and cold spacious not comfortable for a date in my opinion
The food and service was fabulous!
Since our last visit, there have been huge improvements in the food and service. Our server, Kate, was great! She was attentive, friendly and she made sure that everything that we ordered was well timed. My husband and I ordered the shareable to start and we both really enjoyed what came on the platter- meatballs, arancini and cauliflower. For our entrees I ordered the gnuddi and my husband had the rigatoni. Both were very tasty and the portions were huge! Rarely do we have leftovers to take home, but tonight we did :)
My only suggestion is that they change the music playing in the background to something more suitable to the atmosphere. Some soft instrumental or even classical Italian would have been better than the dance music that was playing.
I love this place. The food quality is incredible and service is fantastic. 💕
I was looking forward to the grilled Cesar salad but due to the romaine recall I was unable to have it. Will be back!
Disappointed in the atmosphere - brith lights, basic cafeteria ambience, nothing like the west end location (unless they have changed it since the renovation). Service was great food was great but won’t be back.
Worst restaurant in Edmonton, the Mac and cheese tastes like Kraft dinner. The grilled chicken was extremely dry and chewy and it took 45 minutes to get a drink refill. I would never come here or recommend it to anyone!
The night started with a waitress taking some cutlery and napkins from our table to give to her guests in her section, leaving us short 2.
Pasta was undercooked, chewy, but I didn’t send it back as it took 30mins to arrive and I was hungry.
5th place setting at our table was “forgotten” and we had to wait an additional 10mins, politely watching the remainder of our dishes get cold.
Despite the slow service, missing place settings, and missed order, no discount or apologies offered, only an excuse “we’re not used to being this busy on Sunday, and it’s the kitchens fault”.
Overall a brutal and disappointing experience, I won’t be returning.
The food and service here is incredible. Food is totally out of this world. Probably the best happy hour menu on the planet. 💕
I recently had a complicated hip replacement surgery and this was the first time in 8 weeks I'd been out to a restaurant. It's my husband's 40th birthday, and since I couldn't plan a big lavish party for him, I decided to take him out to Vivo since we hadn't ever been. First things first, the service was amazing! We were early for our reservation so we had a waitress start us off and then transfer us to the waiter that was scheduled for our reservation. They were both so nice! The manager also came over to our table twice: once to ensure everything was to our satisfaction AND once more to wish my husband a happy birthday! That may seem like a small gesture, but we totally appreciate those little things.
The food was incredible! We started with the bruschetta appetizer which comes with two different mixes - ricotta and tomato, and then tomatoes with mint and jalapeños. It was awesome! For our entrees, my husband ordered the Chicken Parmesan and said it was by far the best he's ever had. I ordered the Ravioli Funghi which was also absolutely delicious. Much to our surprise, they sent us a complimentary dessert which was also incredible. We were stuffed but managed to get the dessert down without any issue because it was THAT good.
We will definitely be returning to Vivo Windermere! We actually think this could become one of our "go-to date night restaurants". I've seen other reviews stating how patrons didn't like that it wasn't more "upscale", but that was exactly the reason why we loved it so much! It is affordable in an economy that's effecting so many including ourselves, and it has a relaxed atmosphere! All in all, we were definitely thrilled with our first experience at Vivo, and we have already recommended this restaurant to friends.
Service was excellent.
Menu is subpar. Food is worse.
Beautiful restaurant. The customer service was excellent. Only thing was the hollandaise sauce on the eggs benny not so good! But other food was excellent. Met the Chef - he is lovely and very hospitable. I will be back.
Way better than Bottega 104 and at half the price.
A more casual Vivo. Nice to bring the family or out with the girls.
Average food at a reasonable price. Good place to take the wife if you're not trying to impress.
Food tasted great, very noisy and asked for no tomato sauce yet dinner came with sauce
Went to check out the brunch and it was awesome. Mushroom toast was amazingly tasty and the eggs were done perfectly. Definitely recommend for unique twists on standard brunch fare.
I would recommend due to the amazing server that we had and the happy hour pricing.
The food was mediocre. Had I paid full price for the cauliflower appy or the meatballs, I would have been disappointed. The cauliflower was WAY over breaded and resembled more of a chinese style sweet and sour chicken ball than a piece of cauliflower with Italian flare. The meatballs seems to be made with too much binder, like breadcrumb, or maybe the meat was too overworked, just mealy and the flavor was bland (not enough seasoning in the mixture). The sauce was on the greasy side (could see oil separating out of the sauce). The grilled ceasar salad was really tasty so that was a saving grace on my experience.
Our server saved the day with her personality and straightforward approach. The wine list was extensive and one that I definitely would come back for on their Wine Wednesday (half price bottles).
Food was very good
The decor could use an upgrade
Service was slow. Felt kinda rushed. Server was pushy for us to order main entrees when we wanted to start with wine and appetizers. Never offered the dessert menu when asked for it the server replied well there is only 4 items on it and walked away. We finally saw a dessert menu. No decaf coffee served at the restaurant for evening specialty coffees.
Truly the most underwhelming food I have experienced in years. Bland, boring and not cooked properly. Staffing is also a problem. Not worth the money and will not be returning... ever.
We live in Windermere and it will be one of our go to places moving forward. What a great addition!!!
Not too busy when we were there, therefore not very noisy although might have that potential. Service was good and food was tasty. Temperature in the room was somewhat chilly. I would return, thought it was a nice place to go, food and pricing was good and convenient to the movie theatre and shopping.
