On this day it was my wife birthday, she loved everything about this restaurant. Happy wife happy life. We will definitely be back and would recommend this location to friends and family.
We went for dinner. Service was great! The staff was very attentive. My filet was cooked well but didn't have much flavor. My friend ordered the NY strip. She was disappointed with it. She said it had no flavor. We ordered a salad and biscuits and ham for appetizers. The biscuit and ham was very good. For sides we ordered potato au gratin and broccoli. The potato au gratin was very runny and had no taste. We were both disappointed. So overall, the experience was good - not excellent like we had hoped. I would recommend that people try it if they are in the area and want steak. I will not be going back given there are other steak houses closer to us that we feel are better.
The steak was a little overcooked and the side dishes weren’t very hot. I’ve been there in the past and the food wasn’t as good as previous times. Service was very good.
We had a lovely time Friday night. Service was exceptional and the food was excellent.
The experience here was nothing short of amazing!! Matthew our server was outstanding product knowledge was perfect, regretfully something my wife wanted was 86 and he suggested an alternate selection that was equally impressive. Bone in Rib eye was cooked to perfect and presentation was perfect.
Although the meal was outstanding the service we received from Matthew was excellent and memorable!!

Great service from start to finish- made our evening special.
Five of us went on a Sunday night. The restaurant was not crowded. We were extremely disappointed. I had watched the brothers on Top Chef and was expecting a great evening and meal. I should have read the reviews prior to going. The Service was extremely slow. The food came out lukewarm, both the main dishes and the sides. Nothing was hot. I ordered raw oysters as an appetizer - there were shell pieces in every oyster. Shucking oysters is an art. A high end restaurant should have it mastered or not offer raw oysters. With all the great restaurants in DC, if you are willing to spend the money, take your business elsewhere. You will get a better meal.
A superb dining experience! The prime ribeye and 45-day aged NY strip steals were outstanding.
Service was extremely slow. Our food was lukewarm once it arrived at our table. I got raw oysters and there were shell pieces. Very disappointing.

ordered a virgin drink
and got an alcoholic drink instead. That was bad. The food took a while to come also.

Atmosphere was great and the service was good. The wait for our food was not long and our server explained the possible time for certain food to cook which made things understandable. My fiancé’ loves the restaurant and I myself feel the same. We always make reservations and are seated in a timely fashion.
I visited the Steak House to celebrate a friends 50th Birthday. Our party size was 10. The quality of the service was a little below average from a Steak House that is suppose to be 5 star and the price that go with it. We had to send a few dishes back because the sides were cold. We also felt that the lamb needed to be more seasoned yet the sauce was GREAT, so we just asked to additional sauce to provide flavor to the meet. With the high pricing and the fact that everything was ala cart which meant the bill was high if you wanted a starch and vegetable to accompany your meat choice, the service and taste of food should have been 5 star+. Also is there a reason why bread is not offered at the table? You have to pay for bread as well. So once we placed the order it took over an hour to get food. Although, the atmosphere was great the service and food taste was just average. I am sorry but OutBack serve tastier lamb than this place. I will not be returning.
Fantastic steaks with excellent accompaniments. They miss with some of the details. For example, my steak was cooked to the right temperature but came out warm, not hot. The sauces we ordered did not come out with the steaks. By the time they came out, we had finished half of our steaks. Service otherwise was very good. Our server was kind and attentive without being intrusive except for when the entrées were brought out. Notably, two separate times someone else’s food was brought to our table.
The wedge salad is one of the best I’ve ever had and the side dishes, while small, are exceptional.
This is one of the best restaurants in the DC area. The food is excellent, the wine list is exceptional and the service is always spot on. Ryan, the sommelier, does an amazing job. I called him in advance of our dinner, and he recommended the perfect champagne and a beautiful Cabernet. Highly impressed. Mathew, our waiter, took his time, gave great recommendations and added a few extras to make things special. This was a perfect evening.

We went for Valentine’s Day, and this was one of the best dining experiences we have had in awhile. Every member of the staff was exceptional. The drinks were amazing and the food was delicious. We loved the seating/table as well as the soundtrack for the evening. Every aspect of the experience was outstanding: 5 stars!
I have been to this establishment several times. This was the worst service I have ever had. Took a friend for the first time and bragged at the level of service. No one ever asked us how anything was. No one ever even came to us to see if our food was ok until they cleared the plates. Very unhappy. Most likely, no return. Too many other great establishments in the DC area with excellent service all the time.
Chicken, Brussels sprouts and potato gratin was worth every penny.
Waited for our main course for over an hour. Waited for check for over 25 minutes. Very inattentive staff. Both my and my fiancé’s steaks were overcooked and just okay. I asked for my side of mushrooms to be cooked in very little butter. When it was served it was sitting in a large puddle of butter, and mushrooms were overcooked. We had waited so long for our meal that it seemed ridiculous to have them remake our entire meal. Very disappointed! This can’t possibly be the best the Voltaggio brothers are capable of!
Food was good but between appetizer and entree it took almost a hour before our entree came out. I allowed 2 hrs for dinner before a show so I would have plenty of time but we had to box our most of our entree to go and then had to throw it all away as the show didn’t allow food.. :(
Good service --had to send back one meal that wasn't what we thought we ordered
The waiter openly displayed disgust when we did not want to order drinks. All the niceties came to an end after we said we were there for restaurant week. Through out the rest of dinner he had an attitude and treated my date and I like we were beneath him. Definitely will not be back.
The food is usually really good, but this year we decided to order off the Restaurant week menu and I have to say if they are trying to gain clientele via Restaurant week, they need to do a better job on that menu. We ordered the flank steak and it was very tough. My husband ordered an addition, a king crab leg which was $25 additional cost($38 prefix) so we expected a “King Crab leg” the one he received was a 1/4 of a king crab leg! Wow talk about bait and switch. I definitely will not be ordering flank steak from there or their king crab leg.
The desert was a popsicle and that was NOT tasty. I don’t think even a child would eat that popsicle.
Won’t be going back. I’ll stick to the best steaks house in DC. To name a couple Mastro’s, Del Frisco’s or even Bond 45.
I do commend the serving staff on their excellent customer service including the Bar servers. They are superb.
However, I don’t commend the hosts, instead of asking your customers to come back and check in to see if the table is ready, (so very tacky it’s like a going to a chain type restaurants). The host should be responsible for ensuring they keep an eye out for the client especially if they are at the bar consuming. They had 3 hosts, how hard is it to keep track of customers within your restaurant ( that is a manager/owner problem). If the client leaves the restaurant then yes totally the clients responsibility to come back. Otherwise, tell the client you will go back and get them when their table is ready.
Voltaggio lacks that superb service that Del Frisco’s and Mastro’s has when a client has to wait for their table. They will escort you to the bar, and then the host comes back to the bar to sit u at your table! Now that is excellent customer service from a 5star restaurant.
My steak was good but my dad’s was a little off and undercooked but it wasn’t a place that was all that just the name

Food was good. However, ordered items were not delivered. Was informed they were out of certain side dishes after they were ordered and inquiry made as to whereabouts of the side dishes since they weren't served. Wine was poured but splashed on the glass and table. Expected new type of wine to be poured in new glassware vice the same glass used for a different wine. Not too impressed for the price.
For the price, the customer service was really lacking. Our server never checked on us after our food came out. That was important to me because I wanted a sauce to be added to my steak but by the time the manager came to check on us, I was more than 1/2 way done with my steak.
The food was incredible and especially since we went for Restaurant Week this was a great value to try for the first time! The presentation of the food was also very well done! The customer service is what could use some improvements for the caliber of what you are regularly paying. We got to the restaurant 15 minutes early only for them to seat us 25 minutes later which I have never had happen at any establishment in DC without any sort of apology. I proceeded to order a drink once was seated and since they were out of the gin needed to make my specialty cocktail I ordered from the menu they made me something “similar” with a bourbon and then brought that to the table instead of just informing me they were out since I don’t drink bourbon. The food itself was great once that came out and glad we went!
By far thecwordt steakhouse i have ever been too. Cold food, poor customer service, not many selections and overpriced. $128 just to have to get fastfood afterwards because it was that bad.

I explained that we needed a menu first. He provided them then left for about 10-15 mins another waitered showed up as took our drink orders. Then he left and we had to hunt him back down to place our food order. Once we recieved our food we never saw him again, until he brought the check. We weren't even asked if we were interested in dessert. The service isn't the best or most efficient. I can give them a pass everyone has a bad night. I thought the food was pretty bad. The restaurant week menu did not represent the regular menu, which is a shame. The hanger steak was exceptionally tough. The server did not clear First course plates at the same time and brought flatware for the steak while I was in the middle of the bite of the salad. Won’t return
So we decided to try Voltaggio Brothers during restaurant week, and I'm disappointed. I know it's a high end steakhouse, but if they were trying to pry my high end ventures from Ruth's Chris or Morton's, they failed. The steaks were cooked perfectly, although the flank steak was rather tough. The sides were okay, and the dessert they offered (a strawberry sorbet pop) was rubbish. The real troubling part was the relative neglect from the service team. We could tell after a few minutes that we, being those relatively cheap restaurant week people, were an afterthought. While other tables' every need was attended to, we were off on an island. It took longer for drinks to be refilled and must have been 10 minutes after the last sip of wine was done before someone thought about asking if there was anything else we needed and offering the check.
My advice to VB is this - if you don't want to "waste" time with customers that are going to drop only $150 per couple instead of $250, then just don't participate in restaurant week. You shot yourselves in the foot by giving us an experience that didn't say to us, "Oh yeah, that place is great. You've got to go there!""
