Servers are really aren’t polite. The couple next table arrived 20 mins after us and got food and drinks before we did. Just because they were friends with the server I guess. Server spent lot of time just talking to them rather than getting our orders.

Sashimi was super fresh and great value for the quality. Loud music in the dining area, so I wouldn’t suggest this place if you want quiet conversation. We went at 7:45 p.m. on a Friday.

We thought New Years Eve the staff and management should of have things dialed in for a busy evening… we had a reservation made for a bar table and as we walked in the hosts informed us we would have to wait for someone to get up before we’d get seated but it could be a long time because people were there to party. We should have clued into the couple leaving as we walked in that warmed us by saying “good luck in there, if you ever even get food.” We have dined at Wasabi many times but after this experience we won’t be any longer. We ended up getting sat next to the doors of the kitchen at a tiny table and it smelt like fish guts… ended up downing a bottle of sake and leaving to go to Ohana. If you want epic vibes, great food and excellent customer service then check out Ohana!!

I’ve been to enough sushi restaurants to know good vs bad. This restaurant leans on the bad. The quality of the fish was fine, nothing special, but also not bad. The issue is the portion size. The nigiri are laughably tiny. Also, service was ridiculously slow. We got our bill before we got our last sushi order delivered to our table.

Super disappointing for New Years. I booked a "Sushi Experience" at the sushi bar. The only part of the experience is getting a little Happy New Year headband. Otherwise it was just the standard menu. I came here because of the promised izakaya. I asked the waiter about the Omakase and he only said the number of "pieces". Turns out since I ordered the smaller number, I got sashimi only. Not what I expected. Also it was the thickest sliced sashimi I've ever seen. The only thing I could not eat was the tuna belly which I usually enjoy. Really chewy and sinewy. Both the waiter and the sushi chef were only there for days...green. They did comp a disappointing cocktail so that was nice. The gyoza I ordered tasted undercooked and looked like it had been frozen then panfried served upside down like a pancake. Parts of the dough were white and uncooked like what happens when you microwave Trader Joe's frozen gyoza. Won't be going back. I hear Shiros nearby is better. This place is a young persons party place. Best enjoyed inebriated.

I have been going to wasabi for a while for ambience and quality of sushi. The overall ambience and experience was still nice. Our server was lovely - very attentive, courteous and our food came out in time. The appetizers (shishito peppers and sashimi) were delicious. However, was disappointed with both the rolls - they were flavorless. I came here with a friend for an early New Year's Eve celebration based on my past experience with food but was a bit disappointed. Not writing them off yet but they need to raise the bar on their signature food - sushi!

If you're in the mid-20's to late 30's and are looking for a bar to eat sushi at with loud music, then Wasabi might be your place! When you do get service....the drinks come out fairly quickly. The drinks and food are hit/miss - old fashioned was mediocre; lavender drop was quite nice. The crispy rice and gyoza were fun & good; the chef's choice nagiri plate had some tasty and some decidedly less flavorful pieces.

Wasabi has become one of our favorite "go to" restaurants in Seattle. The food is always excellent and it's reasonably priced for what you get. It's sometimes tough to park down there but that would be a complaint about most downtown restaurants.

Took a large party of eight to this restaurant. Was able to get a reservation and had heard good things. Everything was wonderful even though we have different taste. Everyone had food they loved. The bar was phenomenal, and that was a key element for this particular group, but we will definitely be back. If you can get a reservation, this is a fantastic place to go.

Don’t bother signing up for an “experience” because there isn’t anything special about it. Sat at the sushi bar and wouldn’t recommend sitting there because service was spotty and nothing about sitting there made the meal more memorable. Wouldn’t recommend going here over any other sushi restaurant in Seattle.

Best sushi in Seattle. Only knocking off a star because I ordered an espresso martini and was brought a "Rabusto," which tasted terrible. The Japanese vodka, mixed with the Borghetti espresso liquor gave the drink a floral/fruity mixed with coffee taste. To further confuse the drink, it also had cream from a can in it, which gave it a sour taste. I wish the waiter would have told me I was getting their signature cocktail instead of a regular espresso martini. Order any of their sushi it's delicious, but steer clear of this cocktail.

Disappointingly the dinner experience at Wasabi Sushi & Izakaya for a birthday was subpar. The food was only fair, nothing special as the price would suggest. Service was meh, our server didn't seem too happy in doing her job. It had been a few years since we enjoyed this place, seems like the neighborhood disintegration has taken a toll on this restaurant operation. It's probably an o.k. place if you sit at the bar and drink, everything looks better & tastes better after a few drinks! For going out to enjoy a nice dinner, this is not the place. Sadly, we will not return and cannot recommend to anyone we care about.

Poor service. Very poor service. We told the server that our sushi rolls were drowning in the sauce and could eat it. He comped one roll out of the three. He said why didn’t you tell me? Well…if you were around at all during our meal maybe we could have had the chance to tell you. The chicken wings were nothing special. All good was just meh except the rolls which to me were inedible. Not coming back.

I've always loved the Wasabi restaurant, but hadn't been there since pre-COVID. Happy to say it is still great. We sat at the sushi bar and had multiple appetizers, sushi, sake, beer and desert. Loved it all. Our server was very friendly and attentive. What I miss in general about sushi bars (not just at Wasabi) is that now days they lack the sushi bar experience that I grew up with in which you actually interact directly with the sushi chef, order from the sushi chef, ask them for recommendations for that day, or even let them pick for you. To me THAT is the true "sushi bar experience". Sitting at the sushi bar and ordering from the server, never communicating with the sushi chef is just not the same. You might as well sit at a table.

Our server wasn't very attentive with checking in on us. Also, our food arrived separately. Mine first then a good 15 min later for my friend's entree. Our 3rd friend never got his dish - the server found it after we canceled his entree and it was getting late. (Server said it was left on top of some counter -- so his meal was sitting out for over an hour while we were waiting). We were very engaged in our conversation at least but ridiculous that we couldn't eat our meals at the same time.

Overpriced and entitled and you should just be thankful. Enjoyed my dish but way more costly than same quality similar dish in Vancouver which was surprising. Had outdoor super wobbly table we had to work on to make useable. The service was bad- one of 4 of us waited very long after others served and waiter said nothing when he brought it. Cocktail was not worth it. Sign of the times I guess. Should’ve stayed home
