Best seafood platter I’ve ever had! Would definitely visit again!
Was so happy with our “table with lovely view” - the staff were very friendly.......BUT......the food stole the
Best food i have had in a long time great views and service
This restaurant did not disappoint. We had the mixed platter for 2, it was amazing, plenty of food and amazing flavours. Staff are amazing and so informative. We couldn’t recommend this restaurant enough.
Wonderful flavours in Entrees and Oysters
Mains a little less delicious but sides were good
Dessert was delightful as well
Fabulous fresh seafood. Friendly service. Delightful evening.
Anything on the menu is absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. The seafood tasting platter was unbelievable.
Food was beautiful. Staff were extremely friendly. A little on the pricy side, but still worth it.
One of my favourite restaurants in port Macquarie. The Seafood platter for 2 is one of the best ever. The selection of fish of the day is always excellent coupled with the beetroot & walnut salad or chopped salad.
Lovely decor. Friendly staff. Yummy food. Surprisingly good desserts.
Excellent seafood and sides!
Pleasant atmosphere! Great location and easy access!
Table service let this place down - after initial drinks were served I had to wait until after I finished my main meal before I could even catch a waiters eye to see the drinks menu again - and then had to catch them later again to order more drinks!
A very nice restaurant right on the river, the waitstaff were attentive but not one server seems to be assigned to each set of tables so different servers brought the different courses including the need for any passing server when it was time for the bill.
Food and drinks were great and brought out not long after orders were made. Definitely recommend but make sure to book 👍🏻
Lovely atmosphere, always great food! So good to take visiting guests :-)
Best lobster and chowder I’ve ever eaten. So fresh.
Absolutely fabulous - best meal I've had in Port Macquarie
This was a really lovely evening. From the service, to the food to the view...everything was perfect. Thank you for making our evening special!
The seafood chowder was outstanding with all elements in the dish beautifully cooked.
The swordfish special I had was cooked to perfection though my wife's kingfish was less so.
The ambiance was relaxed and decor fresh and inviting.
The only thing to be aware of is that prices are on the high side as portions are a tad small for the prices charged.
My partner and I had an amazing night beautiful view, outstanding service and delicious food. Highly recommend Whalebone Wharf Restaurant!
Beautiful food, great atmosphere, knowledgeable, helpful and friendly staff, gorgeous view, great cocktails
We’ve been dining here now for a number of years and have always enjoyed the food but there’s always been room for improvement. This time we were underwhelmed so thought it time to provide feedback.
The entree list appears to have been culled, nothing left inspired us so we didn’t have one. Normally we would select several entrees and share them. We find this more enjoyable than the main course options.
The main course options haven’t changed much. Our main concern is that the diner has to design the plate. ie the diner selects a “protein” then has to choose a side and a sauce to match. At this price point, surely the Chef could design and present a dish? What comes out on the plate is a plain piece of fish or whatever you have chosen and and nothing else. The sides and sauce are presented separately. It looks terribly boring and small and it is.
The sides are uninspiring and website menu is outdated. Also, the sauces used in the side dishes don’t necessarily complement what you chose for the main course.
Most chairs we noticed were stained and need to be dry cleaned.
This used to be our go to lunchtime restaurant but.....
Very good and only the food was a bit slow coming out
Our favourite restaurant when visiting Port Macquarie. Highly recommended!
5 star menu at a 3star price. Over the water. Lovely view. Friendly staff - a little forgetful for my experience, but it may have been isolated.
My wife and I went to Whalebone Wharf for our 42 Wedding Anniversary and we were not disappointed. We found the views, the food, service was outstanding on all levels.
Sitting on the waters edge looking down and across the river on a sunny day just made it all worth while. Our waiter would come over to see for all of our needs and would tell us about all of their specials and what what sauces or side would go with that meal. Would go there again anytime.
Lovely ambiance, lovely views, fabulous staff, top quality food. I had seafood chowder which was the best I’ve had in a long time, equal to the famous Peter Doyle’s that used to be at circular quay in Sydney. The barramundi was beautifully cooked and very tasty. The sides of chat potato, pumpkin and greens were excellent. We were too full to finish it all and couldn’t even contemplate desert
The food was amazing but mains were extremely slow to come out. Service was one of the worst I have ever experienced everything seemed to be a bother the waitress was rude, didn’t smile and obviously was in the wrong profession. We were left sitting with no offer of a second drink and had to wait an hour for mains . For an expensive restaurant they really need to revise their staff.
A fabulous seafood platter, not what you would expect but really so much more
We have been coming here for years now and the service, quality of produce and the location is superb.
Stacey provided an amazing service! Don't forget to try the dessert menu!
Food was perfect. Servings where generous. Couldn’t fault anything.
We celebrated our anniversary at Whalebone. The service was attentive and welcoming. The meals were tasty and well presented. It was an enjoyable experience.
Service was impeccable. Unfortunately we were disappointed with the portion size served... we expected more for our dollar... the best part were the two prawns served with our meal..
won’t miss ‘fine dining’ .
The seafood is delicious. Service is excellent. Location over the water with Pelicans swimming by. It was just a sensational dinner
Order the flathead overcooked and small serving.
Definitely not good value
Lovely position and view that’s about it
Special occasion and everything was just great. Table overlooking water was lovely. Certainly will be back.
Outstanding atmosphere and beautiful food. Impressed our visitors they will be back and so will we.
A lovely venue on the river. The food was delicious and cooked to perfection. My husband and I both opted for seafood, that being their specialty, but there were other choices on the menu. We were not disappointed. Overall, a very nice restaurant which I would have no hesitation in recommending to others. If we were Port Macquarie residents I have no doubt this would become a regular haunt for us.
Excellent wait staff. Very efficient.
Views are the best.
Food was the best. Loved how everything came out on there own dishes and were able to share.
Well worth the drive from the town centre. Great location on the river. Tasting platter for two was delicious and had a good selection of seafood. Will definitely return.
One of the loveliest meals and experience we have had in a long time.
I was recommended to eat at this restaurant.
View is great. Staff attentive and friendly.
Food, sides , mains and dessert were all wonderful.
We live in Sydney but will defeat be back.
