This was our first visit to the Whiski Rooms. It was my husband's university graduation and he'd always wanted to go so it was the perfect timing.
And it didn't disappoint! The food, service and atmosphere were all wonderful. Elegant and relaxed without feeling pretentious, and excellent value. We didn't feel rushed to get out for the next table, our servers were charming, and we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.
(The only reason we gave 4 stars for the food instead of 5 is because we found the whisky cranachan dessert was good but a bit too sweet, and could have used more oats and less cream. Also hard to taste the whisky element at all. Beautifully made and presented, but maybe could use a couple of tweaks. Otherwise, it was all delicious and my husband said it was the best venison he'd had, and my veggie haggis was perfect.)
Thanks for a lovely evening!
We came here during our honeymoon and had dinner and dessert. It was lovely and staff were very friendly. The service was quick and the food was absolutely delicious and tables were spaced out to create a quiet dining atmosphere.
First class service
Lovely ambiance and great service. We enjoyed our meal. Great mocktails
Fantastic food but our starter of salmon three ways, although delicious was slightly overpriced.
Would definitely recommend this restaurant.
The chicken I ordered was so tough I was unable to chew it. The waitress apologized but no discount, refund, or alternative was offered. I therefore had no dinner to speak of and had to make another meal as soon as I returned home.
The young waitress offered good service and was polite and friendly, but I would prefer not to be addressed as 'you guys,' please.
Music level and general noise level way too high, had trouble hearing my friends.
Fantastic meal. Great service, choice and served our food very quickly. Will def be back.
Great service really enjoyed the whiski experience. We had lobsters and cocktails and a great whiskey to finish. Wonderful stafff. Thanks so much
Great food, great drinks and great staff. A must visit dinner location in Edinburgh.
Great food, wine, service, atmosphere and of course the whiskey at the end.
Fantastic selection of great food with lots of gluten free options. The service was very friendly and efficient and excellent value for money. We had a great time and will definitely be back.
What a lovely relaxing evening. Good atmosphere, service great and food was excellent.
Staff were so lovely and the food and cocktails were amazing.
We booked for 3pm for my wife’s birthday. We both ordered fillet steak. One medium and one medium rare. My wife’s was only just medium (quite rare) and mine was very rare and full of gristle and sinew. I mentioned this to the waiter who apologised and said he would get me another one. The second one came back looking so much better but when I cut into it it was cold as though it had been cooked straight from the fridge. The waiter again asked if everything was okay and I told him about the steak. He again apologised and asked if I would like something else. He recommended the lamb dish which I decided to have and that was delicious. By this time my wife had finished her meal though. It was a shame as we had both been looking forward to eating at Whiski Rooms. They gave us a reduction on our bill as compensation. Everything else was fine just a shame about the steak.
Great lunch at Whiski Rooms, staff great, food great but a bit quiet.
We were greeted with a warm welcome and had a lovely table. Food was beautifully presented, very tasty and absolutely value for money. Cocktails were very good too. Service was impeccable. Our first visit but won’t be our last
Haggis was excellent, the chowder was nice but the fish in it was scarce!
Really great place with excellent food and service from our waitress, Sophie.
Excellent food and very friendly service and helpful staff. Highly recommend for Scottish cuisine and the whiskey.
Really lovely meal. Excellent lamb dish.
Wonderful, rapid service in a lovely environment. Food was excellent and the staff couldn’t have been more helpful.
Great experience and food was wonderful
We visited as a family on Saturday 10th July. This was our third visit and we were not disappointed. Great service and great food in a fab setting. Love the whisky flights and the whisky food flavours. We will be returning.
Beautifully presented meal by very attentive and friendly staff.
Great place, not too crowded and with proper Scottish feeling. The staff were very friendly and attentive and the cocktails were great :)
I hope I will be back
Really nice place for lunch on Saturday afternoon. Decent selection and something for everyone, not the cheapest main courses but the food was very good and decent sized portions. The staff were also very attentive and friendly. I had an issue with my Lobster Mac n Cheese (delicious) which they sorted out to my satisfaction. As the restaurant wasn't jampacked on the Sat afternoon we were not chased away after a few hours which made a huge difference.
An excellent evening meal at this centrally located (off Royal Mile) restaurant. Staff were courteous and helpful and the food was excellent. The atmosphere was lively without being intrusive. can fully recommend this outstanding eatery.
The menu was exactly as expected and was very nice and the Service was excellent
Fantastic food, and delicious cocktails. Great service too, would recommend.
Absolutely amazing meal. Food was extremely delicious. The staff were so welcoming and attentive at the right time. Would highly recommend. Everything about this restaurant was excellent
Staff were really friendly and the food was delicious
Booked for a birthday celebration for my whiskey loving hubbie. The food was delicious, served nice n' hot, & very well presented. The chap that served us was attentive although not very friendly. No recognition of the big birthday celebration at all!
I wouldn't say the staff were unfriendly, but they were not friendly - disappointing as I had hoped we would spend a full evening trying different whiskey's - that was the whole point I chose this restaurant for my husband's big day.
Brilliant place! Definately will be back. Really nice experience with outstanding service.
I chose to eat ribeye for £26 which was too fresh and chewy, that price deserves a better quality, longer-aged meat. But the haggis springroll and the home made plum sauce was a very good match! Hats off to the chef on that item.! Next time I'm there I'll go for a burger.
Lovely food, good service and the lady great with my 4 year old little girl
Great food and friendly service. Try the whisky selection! Recommended.
Fab food, great service very enjoyable as we have previously experienced. Looking forward to our next visit
Our visit was early evening. We arrived 15 mins earlier than booked but this wasn't a problem. Slight mix up regarding our booking, but soon sorted. (booking advised)
Friendly staff, covid restrictions adhered to and given a choice of seating.
Menus given along with water at our table & time to peruse menu.
We asked for time to chill & have a couple of drinks before eating.
It must be noted that this was an evening supper, rather than a main dining experience. ( We had a 3 course lunch 5 hours earlier)
This being said, the trio of salmon, cheese board & a bowl of chunky chips was not only delicious it was just right to fill us up.
My good lady had 3 glasses of sauvingion & I treated myself to a couple of pints & two very nice but different whiskies. ( my reason for my visit )
The food was delicious but it was secondary to the whisky & ambiance.
Our bill was 30% food & 70% drink. But this was a personal choice for this visit.
The table adjacent to ours had lobster which looked absolutely amazing.
However, for us this was a treat after lockdown and was made all the more special by the food & the service.
We arrived late as we got the time wrong (which of course was our fault) the man was rude and dismissive.
Excellent meal, charismatic and knowledgeable staff - and the head chef catered for my sister who has dairy, gluten and egg allergies by creating elements of her dish that weren't even on the menu. So impressed!!
