    We always enjoy the White Dog Cafe in Wayne, especially when we can eat outdoors for lunch or dinner. Although prices are higher than many other restaurants, the quality is outstanding. We especially enjoyed our waiter … very thoughtful.

    Great Sunday late lunch. We went to the Devon Horse Show and stopped for an outdoor lunch afterwards. The staff was lovely and the food was excellent. Mushroom soup was delicious and my Avocado BLT on Brioche was excellent...and truffle fries!!!

    We went for brunch and ate on the outdoor enclosed patio. It was lovely, service was fantastic and the food was delicious, as always! We love coming to the White Dog - it is fantastic!

    although our waiter was awesome the service was exceptionally slow -took forever to get food. Felt sick after i finished meal - dont' think shrimp were fully cooked. Very overpriced but yes the taste was pretty good.

    I would recommend but by saying that the food was ok. Wasn't outstanding. My steak was too salty but other than that everything was passable and I don't think we overspent.

    Server was rude as we asked about the beer on draft at beginning. There was a draft beer that we asked about, took 20 min to get, after meal was half way. Terrible service, always waiting at white dog. It's a shame because it's a nice venue.

    As soon as you walk in to the restaurant, the host stand is directly in front of you. The problem is that there is no room to wait once you’ve checked in. There is a small bench that seats two or three people. The last three times I’ve been to this restaurant, that small space gets crowded and awkward very fast. There is a server station adjacent to the host stand so you can’t stand there, and then there’s an actual table next to that with people seated and eating so you can’t stand there either. Management either needs to rearrange this space or make a concerted effort to seat people with reservations immediately. The food is good as is the service. It’s good, not great. Just scroll through some of the other reviews here and you’ll pick up on the fact that it’s hit or miss. I’ve never had to send anything back but I’ve also never had anything that I would rave about. Charging a fee for using a credit card is really not a smart move. That’s just the cost of doing business. Don’t make me feel like I’m at the DMV or like I’m paying my water bill. There’s nicer restaurants on the main line that would never change a fee like that.

    Our food was hit or miss. Mushroom soup and ravioli were delicious. The tuna tartar appetizer was swimming in so much sauce it was very unappealing. The salmon entree was good overall, but the salmon had a sweet sauce on it that was not complimentary and overwhelmed the subtle flavors of the vegetables and salmon. Also, a credit card fee at a restaurant this expensive?

    Ordered the warm donuts for brunch and they were soaking in grease. By the end, my plate was covered in a grease puddle. I wanted to send them back however others at my table liked them and were hungry enough to finish them. Overall the food was okay, I would rather go to Wawas and eat to be honest. The chicken and waffles were bland and greasy. The only decent thing I ate was the eggs Benedict but I think I could make a better one at home. Even the Bloody Mary was bad. Too much horseradish.

    Our family has been coming to White Dog off and on for years. We ordered the pot roast. We were expecting it to be a classic and cozy standby - one of those “how could you go wrong” moments… well this dish certainly took a major wrong turn. The meat was served on a small bed of ice cold mashed potatoes, with one over cooked carrot. I’ve never had such a pot roast like this! The meat was ground up like ground beef, had a crumbly texture and pressed into a square mold with a beef and mushroom reduction. I tasted it and it immediately was distasteful - first the texture was horribly weird, and secondly the flavor very poor and the aftertaste had a strong metallic flavor. The meat mixture more closely resembled ground dog food - ironically. The meal was immediately sent back and comped but we will not be returning. The decor of the restaurant is adorable and lovely but the food does not make me want to stay or bring my friends. Very disappointed. Add insult to injury - the price of the food does not meet the quality of what is coming out of the kitchen - at all. At one time The White Dog was good - it has made a bad decline and again this is quite sad. I typically do not write reviews but this was just so shockingly bad and I hope it changes and/or no one else gets burned by this meal. All I can say is - thank God for takeout - elsewhere.

    Good service, lovely restaurant. Terrible food, but brunch on a Memorial Day weekend is going to be a gamble. The deviled eggs were outstanding. The Truffle fries-limp not edible. The Arnold Palmer was so "off" we sent it back but were still charged. The omlette not good, but the home fries were good. The steak salad, the salad was wilted and obviously been made hours ago and left out until someone ordered it. The server shouldn't have even presented the meal.

    The service, the ambience dining on the patio, and the food were all very good. However at the tables nearest the building there is a very unsafe situation that management should remedy asap: 2” thick boards are placed flat on the patio, presumably to support the tent poles. But that creates a 2” trip hazard very close to the chairs which all four of us and our poor server loaded with plates had to navigate. It really is a hazard and sooner or later someone, whether a customer or server, will have a fall as a result. Suggestion for management: Simply cut the boards into 3” squares or circles and put one under each tent pole. That will eliminate the long boards causing the hazard.

    I had the Avacado BLT and the bread/toast was mushy but the worse part was the bacon was hard like leather, you couldn't bite it; I told my waitress but she only said "sorry" and didn't remedy the situation or offer any kind of refund. Usually I enjoy dining at White Dog but not yesterday.

    I just love how nice the staff is and how delicious the food! I was so pleased to sit in comfortable armchairs and to enjoy all the canine whimsey. I brought my sister from Boston who loved it too!

    Very disappointing in our meal. I have the jumbo lump crab salad, and my cousin had the omelette special although the salad was very good crab meat really did not appear to be long at all, and there was very little of it. The omelette was not totally done on the inside, and most of it was left on the plate.

    I have been coming to this restaurant for years. The waiter was not very friendly. On top of that, I got the bill and took a look at the charges. They are now charging a credit card processing fee!! Taking credit cards is the cost of doing business. If you can’t afford to pay the fee, then you should go out of business. What restaurant does that!?The prices are already on the higher end. I will never return to this restaurant.
