Overall 5food service ambience

The meal I had here was wonderful. Delicious, creative, beautifully presented food, great for sharing. The Khao Soi, Satay Oyster mushrooms, bamboo curry, poached fish were all particularly good. I have never had Thai food like this before! I also really appreciated the attentive, friendly staff and the fact that this restaurant only uses top-quality ingredients. It turns out there's also a bar downstairs (great decor, again love the attention to detail), sadly closed the night I was there (Sunday) - but I will definitely be returning when in Soho, and hope to bring friends, maybe starting with some cocktails in the Mamasan bar before dinner upstairs.

The food was the best Thai food I have had in London due every dish being as tasty as one another. The level of spice was perfect.

My only suggestion would be to offer some kind of discount on ordering 7 dishes or more as it works out to be quite expensive per dish otherwise.

Worst meal in London in more than a year – deeply average food and awful service. Highlights included: (1) Waiting for more than 20mins after arriving to be offered any drinks (including water); (2) intensely bland crispy pork belly – and please can the chef note that simply serving with a scorchingly hot sauce does not redeem a rubbish dish; (3) chicken and egg noodle curry which was more reminiscent of pot noodles; and (4) staff so disinterested that not once during the meal were we asked if everything was OK, and literally zero interest in feedback at the end of the meal when we suggested the food was merely ‘fine’. Most telling of all, when I asked for the service charge to be removed from the bill there absolutely no challenge or interest in why. Avoid!

This is a real gem in the bustling heart of Soho. A wonderful menu of incredible ingredients, this is the best true Thai food in London, with a refreshing and contemporary approach. An absolute must for any visit to Soho.

For those not used to Thai restaurants more detailed descriptions on the menu would be good. Wait staff were good in explaining dishes.
Some starter dishes were bigger than those I would consider main course. Portion sizes need to be understood when ordering multiple dished for sharing.
Too many dishes had mushroom as an ingredient - I dislike mushroom.
Space narrow and cramped on the ground floor. Seating hard uncomfortable chairs. Minimum of one table should be removed.
Music was just a base thump and too loud.
Handrail on the stairs down to the toilet was tacky/dirty.
Delays in ‘nibbles’ being served, had to keep chasing.
Overall the food was good, particularly the Massaman lamb curry and the Pad Thai Woonsen.

I would go to the restaurant again but consider it a ‘quick meal’ rather than a relaxed eating/chatty venue. Not an atmosphere in which you would order a coffee or an extra drink after the food and continue chatting.

I noted on leaving that the restaurant was only half full where others in the street were still full and busy.

We'd heard that Wild Rice was worth a visit so we booked for a busy Friday evening.
The menu is not as extensive as other places but its dishes served some of the tastiest Thai food we had eaten in London. The wine list was adequate and water is served in tin cups. The waiting staff are very efficient and pleasant. The staff appear to work as a team and there is a good atmosphere.
We really enjoyed our visit and will be back!

Food was alright nothing special, I would say there are better asian food places in central london e.g. Chi kitchen. The concept is sharing plates but the pricing and portion sizes do not match. You would expect from that 3 small pieces of fried chicken for £10. Also their slow cooked lamb curry was extremely sweet and it felt like I was having a dessert. I've had massaman curry before and its never ben this sweet.

Overall the food was ordinary and I felt I paid a lot for very less food. I left the place disatisfied for quality of food and the money I paid for it.

I'd read a lot about Wild Rice and was really looking forward to lunch. The food was good but the service was awful. We had one of the surliest waiters I've ever come across. We had a reservation (although it wasn't needed as the place was practically empty) but he just waved his hand at the empty tables and said sit anywhere and then practically threw the lunch menus at us. We had to ask for the a la carte menus after about 5 mins and then ask again for drinks after another 5 mins and he brought the wrong drinks... We then had to ask to order food and he spilled half the sauce over the table when he brought our order. The food was good - particularly the fried chicken and the massaman but the service was so unfriendly and rude that it took away any pleasure. Also the design of the restaurant did not create a good atmosphere - it was like sitting in a long corridor. We won't be going back. I then got an email from Open Table to say that I hadn't honoured the reservation so the waiter hadn't bothered to acknowledge we'd kept the reservation. I wouldn't recommend it.

We were craving Thai during our stay in London and found this modern restaurant in SoHo. Having been to Thailand many times, I was delighted to find authentic yet refined flavors here in the various dishes we ordered including the hat yai fried chicken, ka prow, and lamb curry. Service was attentive and friendly throughout the meal. Definitely will return!

Average Meal with average service. Tin Pot was a standout dish, but no consistency across the menu. The vegetables were more Chinese than Thai and were very salty. Not on the same level as it’s competition, especially in Soho.

The menu they have on their website is not the menu they have at the restaurant. The menu at the restaurant was a double sided A4 piece of paper. We had issues when we arriving with where are table was and in the end ended up leaving without ordering as menu was unsatisfactory.

Came with high expectations and was not disappointed! The atmosphere is relaxing on a Saturday afternoon and the food was superb. I’m from Thailand but cannot handle too much heat. There are plenty of choices on the menu to suit everyone.

I highly recommend the Tom yum and the fried chicken! Already planning a return trip with friends as they cater for vegetarians and their chicken is halal.

Fantastic!

Food, service and staff were all excellent. Ordered the fried chicken to nibble on, then my favourite Thai dish “krapow” sirloin with a side of nam prik pao fried rice. The chicken was very tender and crispy. The beef krapow was cooked to perfection. Staff were very kind and friendly, service was brilliant. All in all, a lovely meal and experience. Will definitely be back soon!

Lovely place but food was a bit hit and miss. The veggies we first ordered were not great, we didn’t really end up eating it. The ceviche was not really ceviche - no real taste. Calamari and prawn were great and so was the beef green curry.

Good food, lovely service but very noisy. Some diners treating the place like a bar at 8:30pm on a Wednesday night. Not the restaurant's fault really, but narrow space and abundance of hard surfaces don't help. Approach with caution.

Wonderful food!! Definitely recommended. We had the calamari (spectacular) & mushrooms dish. Also as mains, the glass noodles with celery & prawn, massaman curry & sticky rice. Bring your appetite. The restaurant had a buzz, but it was quiet enough to enjoy good conversation, as well.

Wild Rice is an epic new find! Its difficult finding a good central London Thai restaurant that dares to be different. Being Thai myself, I was highly impressed with their innovative creations and their spot on authentic flavours. The menu is almost fusion Thai but the tastes are 100% the Thai food I grew up and miss since coming over to London. Great mix of old school favourites like the Thai Southern Fried Chicken, the gorgeously battered calamari and the Pad Thai with a healthy vermicelli noodle twist, but then theres the new takes on tradition like the Thai Avocado salad, their use of a runny egg yolk on the different rice dishes and the Tofu Nugget with a velvety peanut sauce. Then there takes on local favourites, the stuff we dont tell the tourists about back home: like YenTaFo noodles, Thai scotch eggs and my personal favourite, original Nam Prik (basically chilli paste) to pair with a humble crispy Thai omelette and rice. Recommend to ANYONE craving new and authentic thai food paired with the friendliest, fun and most down to earth staff in Soho

A wonderful, fresh take on Thai cuisine. It's quite small and cosy inside, which means you are close to your neighbor but the food is well worth the small downside. Perfect date, casual dinner place, maybe not for your business lunch.
