Great service, great atmosphere, great food. We had a wonderful time.
Great all around. Food was phenomenal and I highly recommend.
This is one of my favorite restaurants in Baltimore. they have what is perhaps the best chicken I've ever had in my life. The food is always very good, and the cocktails are always top notch! No complaints, it might be a bit more expensive than some, but you get what you pay for
Excellent ambiance, food and service. A real gem. Great farm to table cuisine with locally sourced ingredients.
They do nothing special to acknowledge reservations made specifically for a birthday. Good food. Waiter was somewhat absent-minded and tried to charge us for extra items on the bill.
We had brunch at Woodberry Kitchen on Sunday. The outdoor space is awesome w/ a huge fire pit and seating. The indoor space is nice: sunny, airy, spacious. It was much less noisy than I would have expected, given the lofty two-level space and high ceilings. Our server was good; he knew the menu and offered advice on what to order. He let us dine at a leisurely pace without a ton of interruptions (a manager came by to tell us that our entrees were delayed due to a kitchen snafu; we hadn't even noticed the delay bc we were chatting w/ our dining companions).
We ordered the spicy cheese spread with toast, chicken liver pate with toast and the WK donut for the table to share. All were tasty and had us looking forward to getting our entrees. As it turns out, the entrees were not worth the wait. My husband and I both ordered the pork belly brunch. It was served on toast, topped with 2 fried eggs and what (I believe) was supposed to be cheese sauce. Home fries on the side. It was not good. All I could taste was stale grease. The toast was utterly saturated with gross tasting grease, the pork belly itself greasy and tasteless, instead of salty and delicious. The 'cheese sauce' was thin and tasteless. Nothing on the plate was seasoned. It was really unpleasant to feel like I had an oil-slick in my mouth with every bite I took; I couldn't force myself to finish it. My cousin ordered the croque madame and commented that the bread was also saturated with grease; she didn't finish her meal, either. Her husband ordered Beau's breakfast; he ate all of it, but he's the type who only eats to stay alive vs. eating for enjoyment so his opinion doesn't really count. Brunch cost more than $250 - not worth it. I had considered making brunch at home & really wish I had.
Relatively new to Bmore, we had heard good things about WK & were excited to try it. There's a small chance we may go back for drinks on the patio in warmer weather, but we probably would never eat there again.
I look forward to Woodberry. The crab pot was great (as always). I was diappointed in my hash brown (too dry for me), but the mushrooms were perfect. Such s small thing, but I typically love the French press coffee but found it muddy this time around. The eggs in purgatory had a lovely flavor and the devilled eggs were as good as they typically are. As a pescetarian, I was sad to see the pancake, french toast, and veggie flatbread weren't on the menu.
I dined at Woodberry on 16 Feb. We were a party of 8, and our reservation was at 11AM. This was the first time many had dined there. I made the reservation over a month ago. I asked to be seated in the adjacent room to the main dining area to accommodate one of the guests who has a difficult time with stairs. I even followed up with a phone call closer to the date. This was not honored at all and instead we seated upstairs at the far end of the dining area. We did ask if this could be changed by the hostess and were told no. Overall the food was good but it took quite awhile to get our food and our server was incredibly slow. All in all in was a very disappointing experience compared to the many times I have dined at Woodberry in the past.
I've been to Woodberry on several occasions; this might have been the best time.
I point to Woodberry to the best carrot dish I've ever had (this past Saturday) as well as the best ever omelet (ramp omelet a few years ago) and best donut (chocolate cake donut). Always spectacular.
We love Woodberry Kitchen and go there a few times per year. I had called ahead to purchase special blown-glass flowers that WK was offering over Valentine’s Day weekend in partnership with neighbor Coradetti Glass Blowing Studio. They were pre-set on our table and my husband and parents were surprised. Our server thoughtfully wrapped them for us to keep them safe. Our meal was outstanding, my husband and parents agreed this was one of the best meals we’ve had at WK over the years: sourdough, deviled eggs, Rockfish, and scallops. Not to mention several libations and dessert. The Golden Milk was an exceptional after dinner drink. I was slightly disappointed to be unable to order it with oat milk, which is how I order it at sister restaurant Artifact Coffee. My dad has asked about a specific drink, which we were told couldn’t be made any longer because an ingredient was out of season. However, it was listed on the after-dinner drinks. So slight mix-up there. Finally there was some confusion with the payment due to my calling ahead to purchase the glass flowers, but this was not a big deal. 10/10 will return again and always recommend WK to friends. Thanks for a great birthday dinner!
DbFoodie, Thanks for an awesome review! We are happy you enjoyed things like the blown glass flowers and the creations from the kitchen and thanks for overlooking our hiccups which we learn from and work to improve. Over all it was a great Valentines Weekend and we thank you all for enjoying it and a birthday dinner combined. Best wishes from all of us at Woodberry Kitchen!
The service, as always, was exceptional. Our server was knowledgeable and attentive.
The food was inventive and delicious.
Surprisingly great time with our twin toddlers. Noise level was high enough to make them not stand out. Good food as usual.
Nancy was absolutely fantastic while taking care of us on Valentines night. Holidays are tough already but being swamped with 2 tops and still Nancy was attentive, polite, and thoughtful. Food was delicious and quickly prepared, atmosphere was warm and embracing.
Amazing! We'd been wanting to try this place for awhile and are so glad we finally got the chance. We were not disappointed. Try their sundae - it lives up to the hype!
I have been married for 27 years and I have celebrated four anniversaries there. We have never been disappointed and the service and food remains top notch. We will be back again with friends in tow. 😊
Awesome place to celebrate a special occasion! Great, personable service and the food is delicious and unique!
Really enjoyed the casual atmosphere along with the exceptional, friendly service. The food, as usual, was great.
This is next level dining but I saw someone wearing dress jeans and other in suits. You can't go wrong with a sports jacket but I don't think there's a dress code. We had reservations and amazing service on our special night out. We were seated quickly and dinner was paced out much like a European dinner that encourages a few drinks and conversation. Our dining experience lasted 2 hours long and with the Woodbury menu which encourages small plates enables you to sample a variety of cuisine. There's some unique choices and don't let the snake oil or Fish pepper scare you. We had the Tilghman Island Crab Pot, Pit Beef Carpaccio, Carrots, Lamb Loin, whipped potatoes and for desert something called a peach buckle. Yes, I had to loosen mine,,,,whew that food was good. We will be back to this awesome venue!
The server was horrible. Arrogant, condescending and jumped in the middle of our political conversation and scolded us about our views and added his two cents worth. Then he stormed away. Absolutely shocking. I am considering not ever going back.
It's been a few years since we've had been to Woodberry Kitchen but found the same great quality and uniqueness we love. Service is amazing with thorough descriptions of items, prompt delivery and check-ins from staff. Attention to detail is great especially for food sensitivities. From drinks to dessert it is an amazing dining experience.
The brunch hour was unorganized compared to dinner time . There was confusion in the kitchen which resulted in delays in service. Our waitress was clearly frustrated.
Everyone is so nice and accommodating. The food was just not that good. Great ambiance, but the food was just ok.
Breakfast was on par with what I can make at home. If you aren't going to offer lemons for water, you should find some other alternative, IMO. Wish there were more vegetarian options. Service was attentive.
Worst experience in recent memory. Third visit to Woodberry Kitchen. Prior trips to the restaurant, I sat alone at the bar on a week night and had a good meal and pleasant service. On this occasion my wife and son joined me on a Friday night. We waited 30 minutes for an anticipated 8:00 PM reservation then 75 minutes for our food after placing the order. At one point I thought that the waitress forgot our table. It was late, we were hungry and our disappointment continued as our food was either too hot, too cold and generally not very appetizing. The manager offered free drinks, dessert, and a gift card to make up for the wasted evening. I left the restaurant embarrassed for having recommended it to my family.
Celebrated a birthday with our two young toddlers. Appreciated the attentiveness of the staff and our server, Tristan, who gave amazing recommendations which we likely would have not considered (like the carrots and the wings). We didn't feel rushed our out of place with our two toddlers on a friday evening.
Staff are great explained everything. The cocktails are great as are desserts. I had a whole bass which was kind of bony. Maybe I should have ordered a filet of fish!
Food was amazing. Gluten-free menu had lots of choices. I don’t usually eat gluten free but but did that night because my date had a gluten intolerance and I wanted to make sure I could share my food if they wanted some. I thought the food still tasted great. Service was excellent, the server checked in a lot, maybe a bit too much at times but I suppose it’s better than having us wonder where they were. I’d definitely eat there again.
As usual, the food was excellent & the service was even better. Tristan, our server, was very knowledgeable about the menu and had a great sense of humor. The manager, barista, hosts, food runners, etc. were all very hospitable and efficient as well. None of my party had been to Woodberry in at least a year before this visit, and we were all so happy we decided to dine here again. We ordered a lot of the menu, which was all delicious, but the butterscotch pudding was definitely the standout.
As soon as we arrived we were seated with menus and offered water. Really like the bottles of wine for two. Our waiter was attentive and informative and provided recommendations. The fried oysters were delicious along with the roasted carrots. Our entrees were the chicken and biscuits ( so delicious) and the fish was amazing. This is definitely a must for farm to table eating.

wonderful food and drink, great service—highly recommend. three hour dinner—not rushed—comfortable pace.
Thank you Susan, we loved seeing you all and look forward to your next visit to Woodberry. Best from all of us, Johnny Earles, GM
Excellent service during our visit. Suggestions from our server helped a great deal. We felt welcomed and our open table seating request was provided. Not our first visit and glad to say our experience was still excellent. Thank you!
We need to thank YOU for visiting Woodberry Saturday and over the years as well as your very kind words. We look forward to seeing you again soon. Best wishes, Johnny Earles, GM
We really appreciated the professionalism of the Hostess and our wonderful Waitress.
Delicious food, great ambience, a pleasure overall. It’s an experience to the palates, the eyes and the souls.
Fantastic service along with excellent food equals a very special evening.
One of the cutest brunch spots I’ve been too!! Fantastically done up and maintained. Food is SO SO GOOD!! Drinks are even better!! I’ll probably drive from DC TO BALTIMORE for a meal at this place again. DEF worth it!
Great food, service and atmosphere! It was very loud and difficult to hear with a large party.
We have been going to Woodberry since it opened and the past two times we went we have been disappointed by the food. Service is wonderful but the food has really become just okay. I appreciate their commitment to local everything and the menu is always intriguing but I don’t think we will be returning. The price is too high for average food.
Valet was terrible, restaurant completely disorganized. Bar ignores you and the food portions were small. Way over priced for food portion.
My niece is a grad student at Johns Hopkins and invited her mother and I for a visit, since she’s new to Baltimore. We read about Woodberry in a magazine and were drawn by fact that food is sourced locally. Everything was delicious!!! The wine pairings suggested by management were excellent - the service could not have been better - we will definitely be back.
Cozy, friendly bartender Ben took care of my guest and I quickly and efficiently. Small plate came out right behind our Mulled Wine and Hot Buttered Rum. Cornmeal Fried Oysters...perfection. We did have to ask for bread but it came super quick to compliment the oysters and drinks. We ordered the MD Rockfish and cast iron chicken and biscuit. Both were savory and plated exquisitely. In particular the turnip and carrot medley with the braised greens on my Cast Iron Chicken option were AS GOOD as the main entree. This typically is not the case as usually one part of the plate outweighs the main feature. Last night I found myself gleefully giving every part of the plate equal attention.
My partners MD Rockfish was pure delight as well and I took several bites out of his handsome fish as he did with my Chicken. I typically do not enjoy seafood of any variety but this fish was like no other fish I had ever tasted. Perhaps on a future visit I’ll order this as my selection to dine.
Woodberry Kitchen is doing everything right by me! Keep up the bustle!
