Yves Restaurant was inspired by Smith & Mills owners adoration of the small and highly personalized owner-operated neighborhood Café culture in Paris (Montmartre) and North Africa, Morocco. Yves occupies a two hundred year old former Seafarers Inn, across from the main downtown Hudson River entrance. The restaurant is washed in a minimalist design aesthetic in the heart of picturesque Tribeca. The photographic artwork is inspired by the marriage of fashion, design, community and people. The menu exudes clean and modern French fare sprinkled with a Moroccan influence. Although refined, the dishes are comforting, approachable and familiar. Our culinary team’s approach is simple sophistication balanced with a side of whimsy and fun.
Yves has been labeled the best view to water and people watching in Tribeca. The 46 seat (interior seating) is made much larger feeling by the 80 plus outdoor seats (weather permitting) on the corner of N Moore st with the Hudson River in the backdrop.

We were really looking forward to our dinner at Yves. The evening started off with great cocktails all around and lovely service. Unfortunately, things went off the rails with the food, which was quite sub-par. The noise level was also fairly extreme so factor that in if you want to have a conversation

Dined here on a quiet Labor Day weekend, it wasn't busy. We sat outside which was pleasant. The food was unremarkable-the Mezze plate was fine but not noteworthy. The chicken tagine for two ok but was pretty scanty and the broth was a bit one-dimensional. The service though was very poor. Waiter didn't know the components of the dishes and disappeared after delivering our drinks. I had to go into the restaurant to ask for water and a dessert menu. We also had to go in to get our check,. We were there for 75 mins so we weren't rushing. At $155 for two drinks, a mezze and main course I'd expect better service; we just didn't have the energy to hunt him down to ask for a dessert order.

great frittes. All of us loved our entrees. Whole Branzino, lamb kabob (so tender), pasta, and chicken tagine. The deserts were good, not specacular, but good. Profiterole, creme brulee, bread pudding. Excellent service. Music a bit too loud, they turned it down, still loud.

The mussels are exceptional. They are in a delicious broth. The branzino was excellent also with asparagus and sugar snap peas. All in all a great experience.

Have been wanting to try Yves for two years and was not disappointed! Came by myself and had the burger, it was amazing! Very friendly staff and the ambiance was great, definitely coming back.

We had a great experience yesterday. David, our waiter was absolutely amazing. We had the steak and garlic shrimp appetizer. Both was delicious. I didn’t like their Pinot Noir though..cheap quality. Also the chocolate mousse was a pudding not a mousse but otherwise everything was great!

The place is the right size and very cute Everything on the menu looked delicious. Everyone at the table had something different to eat, and we all enjoyed our meal very much. The staff was super friendly and on point. The prices are super reasonable for the quality and location. Overall we had a great time and will come back for sure

Edit: I didn’t think this place would fall even further. After checking my credit card statement, I discovered that they over charged me! The owner should be ashamed of such a shady behavior. I’m disputing the whole charge with my credit card issuer and filing a police report for a fraudulent charge. —— This place is a shadow of what it used to be. Every dish was either too salty or too bland. It was supposed to still be french, but almost everything on the menu is Moroccan, which could have fine had the execution been on part. The waiter was terrible.

We picked Yves on a whim and were so happy on our choice of this cozy neighborhood haunt. The waitstaff was attentive, the food outstanding. My husband had the cigars with lentils and I had the poulet au citron. My daughter had the cheeseburger. The portions were ample, well presented, delicious homemade brasserie fare.

We were one of two tables in the restaurant. The waitress was attentive but at the oddest times. There was a fruitfly hovering around our wine/food and the credit card machine didn’t work.

I try to be generous on reviews, especially local businesses. However, our experience here was quite bad. Steak was medium well (ordered medium rare), server was non-existent, didn't get another item we ordered, and the entire experience took almost 2 hours for a very simple dinner. Food was B/B- at best. Great location and should deliver on what could be a great concept. Too bad Yves didn't deliver for us as we live in the neighborhood.
