Centered in the heart of Los Angeles, the historic building in which it resides was originally erected in 1929 by Charlie Chaplin, and later transformed into the iconic La Brea Bakery and Campanile Restaurant. The bread is an amazing deal, we also got the beignets, crudo, and green goddess salad all were amazing for apps! The Brussels sprouts and cauliflower dish was probably the group favorite with so much flavor. Topped off the meal with cod and fries. Could have skipped the cod, not a whole lot of flavor but we had vegetarians with us.

Eating at République is always a great experience. If you ever have the opportunity to have a meal here - do it. You won't be sorry. The staff are friendly and helpful, the food is phenomenal, as are the drinks. You must have dessert, as well. It will blow your budget, but eating at Republique is absolutely worth it!

Management was horrible. We had a reservation for 7 people but ended up being 8 people. They would not seat us unless we got the set menu ($150 pp). They finally agreed to seat us as 2 parties of 4. With the whole place empty they separated us across the restaurant rather than having us sit next to each other. Waiters were short and rushed us. Lastly, we ordered dessert. They said it was complimentary when they served it to us. We told the waiter we already ordered, but they insisted it was complimentary. The dessert was on the check and not complimentary. Horrible people work here (mainly management).

Visited for the first time for our anniversary. It was one of the best dining experiences we’ve experienced in LA. Service was amazing. Took a lot of our waiters recommendations, but the Dover Sole was our favorite dish.

The dinner at Republique exceeded my already high expectations. We ordered the baguette with olive oil, endive salad with fuji apples, roasted cauliflower and brussel sprouts with dukka and pomegrante seeds, duck, and strawberry tiramusu and apple tart. Each course was incredible, with unusual flavors and sauces. It would be difficult for me to identify a favorite. But the endive salad with dates and hazelnuts was unusual, and the seasoning on the vegetables was delicious. The waiter was very attentive and the service was well-organized and efficient.

everything we ordered was fabulous. For drinks I really enjoyed plum Negroni, loved their pasta and DOVER SOLE À LA MEUNIÈRE. We got cod and duck which were delicious. One of the best duck preparations I have ever had.

As good as expected. As terrific as the food was what was equally memorable to me was the fine dining level service. Even though it's a small plates menu and some of us were sharing and some of us were not, our server coursed out our meal, which really added to the experience. It ran us about $125 a person including tip so it's definitely a special occasion place but we would definitely come back. The front dining room is lively. We were in the back dining room which is a little more sedate and was perfect for us.

Republique is a fabulous dining experience. The food is inventive and delicious. The presentations are spectacular. The service in the restaurant is impeccable. The staff is courteous and friendly. When your dining experience comes to an end you know you've had a superior dining experience you won't soon forget. But there is one glaring flaw. They need to fire their valet service and find a better one. When I arrived out front there were five cars in front of me trying to drop off and get inside. One valet was left with parking all five of us while 2 stood under a canopy and chatted. When the one working driver took off with the car in front of me I just sat there. Almost 10 minutes before I had to get out of my car and yell at the 2 talkers who was going to park my car. With that, one came over and took my car. Later after a wonderful dinner I went back to retrieve my car. The fee posted was $15. at night. I gave the man a twenty. I got $3.50. When I asked why he pointed to the fine print. A 10% tax on parking my car! I go out regularly. I almost always valet park. I have never had to pay tax on my valet charges in my life. Anywhere in the world. It became my tip. Or lack there of. Give me a break. Republique is too fine an establishment to allow a terrible valet service put a damper on the evening. It's your first and last impression of the experience. The current impression is not a good one.

Where to start…the first person to talk to our table set the tone, and continued to impact our evening. While I’m more tolerant of young servers, my friends were not. It’s one thing to have one bad server but food runners and somm followed suit. Ironically, the busboy was the only highlight. Servers should not interrupt conversations like we are inconveniencing them from doing their jobs. Servers should ask the table if they can serve, specifically drinks at the beginning of the meal. Rather than ask the table if he could take a drink order, two people separately, asked the server for a cocktail and he ran off to get the drink instead of asking if anyone else would like a drink too. Then a third person had to ask for a wine list and cocktail menu, after other drinks were served. Totally disjointed. The food runner bringing the baguette asked us to move the plates and the beignet course plates out of the way so he could put down the baguette. The somm actually served the men first. We never saw that before. I could go on but I’m tired now. Please train your staff to serve. Very disappointed.

We dined at Republique frequently on the patio during the pandemic. We always enjoyed the delicious food. We just went back for a relative’s birthday and the food and service were better than ever. We will returning very soon.

Ambiance is unmatched here. I really got an NYC vibe. The service was excellent, clean silverware and clean table all thought our meal. Really loved the teamwork by the staff as well. And finally the food. We ordered a lot of food for 2 people but we were treating ourselves so why not: potato & leek beignets, baguette and butter, crudo, endives, campanelle, wagyu zabuton, fries and sorbet. Everything was amazing. I think the campanelle was my absolute favorite though. So rich yet light at the same time. The staff even helped us celebrate our anniversary with a handwritten card and a sweet note on our dessert. Thank you for the amazing experience!

The overall experience was lovely. Food and drink are always on point at Republique. We ran a bit late for our arrival time and the hostess was gracious about it. It was a birthday celebration for our son and he was feted with a lovely card upon our seating. We were also surprised to be gifted an additional dessert at the end of our meal. My only critique was the music level - it was far too loud for the space and it made it hard to hear one another while talking.

The food and service were outstanding—just visited my new favorite restaurant. Starting with the bread and French butter—could have been happy with that alone. Moscow mule cocktail—sure tasted like fresh ginger—wonderful. Next was pasta and Maine lobster—delicious. Ended with a delightful strawberry tiramisu. Looking forward to another fantastic dinner at Republique.

Literally the best meal I’ve ever had in my life. 10/10. Zero criticism. 1. Ham & Cheese Croquettes 2. Fresh Baguette w/ Le Meunière butter from Normandy, France 3. Best oysters I’ve ever had plus Earth salad with green goddess dressing 4. Campanelle pasta with Maine lobster 5. Sunchoke Agnolotti in rich mushroom sauce with real fresh Parmesan 6. Wagyu beef cheek (absolutely delicious!) 7. Banana and chocolate ice cream REPUBLIQUE is my new favorite restaurant!

Everything I put in my mouth was exquisite from the presentation to the taste. The service was amazing and our server was very knowledgeable about food allergies. Dishes we especially loved were the Cauliflower and Brussel sprouts and the Dover Sole. Expensive but worth every penny.

From the moment we were greeted, I knew it was going to be a special experience. Family style table is the best seat in the house, highly recommend. Two extra special shout outs: 1) baguette with butter, and 2) strawberry tiramisu. Everything was impeccable - service, menu, wine list, ambiance, food.

We did the tasting menu. I would only order one of the dishes again, the potato soup was a big miss. Very bad dish that did not work with the various components. The Wagyu was very fat and had gristle. The wine pairing was ok, but a few did not really work with the dish they were paired with, in particular the potato soup.
