Server knowledgeable & great personality—pretty yellow room, pork outstanding
This was my first time at the restaurant and I was pleasantly surprised by the high quality of the food and great service. We had grilled octopus and Nero de Seppia and these were delicious!
I am a dual citizen: Italian/American and consider myself qualified to review. The dishes are authentic and prepared well. Service is very good and cost is moderate. I vote #1 Italian in Albuquerque..
Food was just so so. We had 6 people in our group. One of us ordered lasagna. It was not hot . 3 people ordered the lasagna and weren't impressed.
The food was very tasty. The service was very good. The server was very attentive, and if she didn't know the answer to a query she found an answer for us very quickly. A very enjoyable experience.
Saw the place on DDD, never thought I would eat there but... Excellent ambiance, service and quality. Beautiful presentation of the duck entree. Tasty house wine. Perfect portion size from one tired of getting plates of food the size of my head and throwing half or more away! Delightful overall.
Service was very slow. Food was mediocre. Limited menu.
Great food highlighted by a terrific server! We would return anytime we're in Albuquerque.
A hidden gem. The food & service was excellent. A quiet neighberhood.
Very disappointed considering what we had heard. The special which I ordered was very good but the other special for the price was poor at best. The pork chops were more fat than anything and a poor selection for a restaurant of this caliber. I know that the couple seated next to us also was not satisfied with their food as well. Will not return anytime soon.
This restaurant is a gem definitely would go again
Excellent service and awesome food
Would love to provide a private review. Based upon the poor quality of our meals; you really don’t seem to care about the survival of your restaurant. The last 3 times I’ve eaten there I’ve told myself never again but when my brother wanted to go for his birthday this week, we went hoping things had gotten better. We have family chefs and know food. I wish you luck.
Something is different. Food was fair. It used to be very good here. Menu selections were lacking too. Only three choices that were not pasta - duck, chicken and clams. The special was "sold out". It was Friday night at 7 and the place was 1/4 full. How could they be sold out of anything? We've been there several times before. This time was disappointing.
Great homemade pasta. Really nice staff. Neighborhood gem!!
We were visiting Albuquerque and heard this was a great Italian restaurant. The food was superb and our waitress provided the perfect level of attention and service. The homemade pasta was first class. We did not have a long wait to be served and we all had a very enjoyable evening.
This is a great little restaurant with a nice menu and wonderful service. We’ll return when we get back to Albuquerque.
We went because we saw this restaurant featured on the Food Network. It was such a disappointment. The pasta was gummy on one dish and over baked and dried out on another. The meat sauce was uninspired. So sad. I wanted this to be a great experience.
Food was pretty good, but nothing stupendous. My biggest complaint was some of the wait times in between certain parts of the meal. For instance, bread came out with the appetizer I ordered, instead of with our drinks or even after our drinks. Waiting for the check and for my card to be returned took a while as well. After I had paid the waiting took other orders, delivered other tables food instead of just charging me and coming back. Overall good experience just took longer than expected for some of the things.
We went there for an anniversary. We were very pleased with the waitstaff and our table. The food was very good and the wine exceptional.
nice, simple little restaurant. The food was good, the deserts were very good. My two criticisms are: the chicken dish was not available the night we visited. Also, in two dishes, the pasta, which appeared to be homemade, was very thick. The tortellini pasta was just too heavy to enjoy. The server was very professional and attentive to us. We will try them again.
Awesome food. Can’t wait to go back for dessert and espresso on the patio!
There were four of us. We had mixed feelings. There were only three entrees and no specials. I was delighted there was a Super Tuscan wine by the glass! Yay! Two of us got duck which was good but perhaps not the accompaniment. Desserts were ok. Service okay. So, it was all okay.
We chose this restaurant because I had family visiting and one of my brothers saw the restaurant was featured on Food Network, one of my 86 year old parent’s favorite shows.
The hostess was amazing and pleasant, she was very accommodating to ensure our table was set up in the corner to limit the noise. The server, Britt, was not attentive and condescending. My parents chicken and vegetables were burnt, my lunch entree had a piece of hair under a carrot in the sauce. When I brought it to the server’s attention he stated: "It wasn't from the kitchen the cook didn't have any hair". I told him the hair was not laying on top of the food, it was found after I moved the carrot. Instead of offering any type of assistance he said it must have been MY HAIR. He then asked if I wanted my food, over 3/4 of a meal boxed up and I said no. I was not looking for a free meal, I just wanted them to make it right. Britt offered nothing. He was inattentive and we had to flag him down if we needed anything. I am not sure if that was due to the party size and he was already assured a tip? I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Homemade pasta fresh creative great prices great service
We had a lovely evening with good food, service and conversation with friends. Will go again!
Our dinners were excellent as were our wines and desserts. Excellent menu, something for every palate.
Food was OK . We will try again. I was expecting better maybe an off night
We decided to try Torino's after reading a very favorable review in the Albuquerque Journal. However, we were less than thrilled. We had a 6pm reservation on a Monday evening (6/18) and were seated out in the patio (our choice). It went wrong almost immediately. While the patio was nice, the sun was starting to set and we requested several times to have the folded up umbrellas put up so to block some of the sun and heat. Finally, after the third request, we got the umbrellas put up. We started with one server, he quickly disappeared never to return and then Thomas showed up and he took care of us. He was very good, but seemed ill at ease with what he was doing. It seemed he was "new" to the job. We found out later he didn't wait tables, he worked in the kitchen. We ordered an appetizer of shrimp and calamari, it was very good. Our dinners were porcini ravioli with a side of Italian sausage and the half chicken with fingerling potatoes. Both were excellent. The problem was the food took nearly 1 hour and 45 minutes to arrive! We heard repeatedly "we're slammed in the kitchen." We weren't the only ones who were less than thrilled. I overheard a woman who was with her husband and another couple that 1 hour and 45 minute was ridiculous and the food and service wasn't worth the price. They were from Florida here in New Mexico on vacation. My husband and I drove up from Socorro to spend the day at the Da Vinci Exhibit and wanted to cap off the lovely day with a delightful Italian meal. That was the plan, didn't work out so well. We didn't finish our dinner until almost 9pm when all was said a done.
My family and I dine here on a semi regular basis. Interesting menu, wonderful food, great wine list, and a delightful staff! Torino’s is a great place for all occasions.
Saturday evening 5:30PM: they were out of the wine we wanted and that was listed on line as part of their wine list but we were told that someone forgot to reorder it, they were out of the entree we wanted that was just written up in the ABQ Journal that week. Therefore, a bit disappointing.
The bolognese was flavorless.
Been going to this restaurant through 3 iterations and management. Pleased to say all have been very good establishments. We had a knowledgeable and friendly waiter. Food was up to standards we expected.
Great patio ambiance and excellent service. The mushroom ravioli is always a favorite of ours. Several of us had the salads. The goat cheese salad with duck confit was perfect.
Saw on DDD and was a little disappointed. The spinach lasagna had waaaaay too much spinach not enough sauce or cheese. They were out of the ravioli so we got the pasta bolagnese (sp) and it was ok. Not enough flavor for me.
Torino's is a hidden gem. They make their own pasta and the food is consistently great. This is comfort food with a bistro atmosphere. They could have a more extensive wine list, but that's the only real criticism I can muster. The service is very good, especially for Albuquerque. The patio is great in the evening.
Our late lunch experience was delightful. We had delicious beef manicotti and nero di seppia. Our waitstaff, Brendan, was friendly and attentive.
Very nice waiter, informative, suggestive, attentive.
Nice wine, bread, meal was hot, very good flavors.
Dessert was creative, just enough.
Service was friendly, could of been a little more attentive. Food was good & very tasty. We'll come back & recommend to others.
We had a lovely evening. The service was excellent but not hovering nor were we rushed. The food was excellent: well presented, well spiced and very tasty.
We left saying to each other that we had to come here more often.
Food cold & tasteless second and last visit.Wine overpriced service ok!
