We went here for dinner. Our initial welcome was warm and inviting. Then our server told us “we have a lot of big parties, please have your appetizer and entrees ready when you order”. This was a bit off putting because it made us feel as if our reservation and meal were less important. It was our anniversary and we had been very excited. Our food eventually came but we had to flag down a different Waiter 3x to get our water cups refilled and to get dessert menus and order. We felt forgotten and frustrated. Another waiter noticed and told the manager who provided us with comped dessert and coffee but by then I was tired from feeling frustrated. We had expected a relaxed meal with prime service. It tarnished the excitement of our special dinner. We will not be returning. For the price of the meal, the food wAs good but our enjoyment was sorely lacking. We had a reservation too, we’re not walk ins.
Excellent service. Great food. Unbelievable atmosphere. I will be back.
They were very concerned about us getting the menu dirty. They didn’t want to allow us to order appetizers for the table until we had the entire order picked out, very strange. They kept picking up food that we hadn’t finished eating, and they tried to deliver the wrong entrees to each of us, which even chain restaurants get that right. I was shocked, the food was fair but the server I’ve left a little to be desired. I think we must have gotten a new server, she was trying to dictate to us how we were going to experience the evening meal. My $50 steak was missing the sauce accompaniment and I didn’t bother asking for it as I am sure it would have taken 20 minutes to get it. We ordered coffee and it took 20 minutes to get, they stated they had to brew a pot for us.
I wouldn’t go back.
Waiters, had (2) could have been a little be more accommodating. Asked for a basket of bread twice upon arrival, finally got it when appetizers arrived. Beautiful restaurant and ambience setting is amazing.
Server service was a bit slow. We were not in a rush so it was acceptable. The food was very good with tons of flavor.
The soups, salads and sides were delicious. However, the ribeye which was ordered medium rare was tough and hard to chew. Couldn’t even eat half of it. The manager did take it off the check and was totally professional.
Multiple visits here—always enjoy. Wonderful setting with excellent service. Promptly seated upon arrival and greeted by friendly server. Not a complaint as restaurant can certainly set prices however they wish but $21 for a cheeseburger and fries is a bit much for a casual lunch in Baltimore.
Very special experience .... worth a visit .... great for special occasions
Very attentive service, highly creative fresh cookie, terrific view. Definitely will return
Nothing to say
We had a wonderful experience. This was probably our last date night before our baby comes this week. The food was delicious!!
The food is good but not great. I had an excellent steak but not better than the Palm which is more affordable and not as good as some other top Steakhouses like BLT. The sides, Broccolini...very bitter and the mushrooms were over salted.
Caesar salad was good.
The service was horrible, our inattentive server seemed to be in a horrible mood.
The best thing about this place is the room.
Great atmosphere. Great service. Crab cake was fantastic. Husband's rib-eye was done perfectly. orecchiette pasta with sweet sausage and broccoli rabe was so good I could've eaten a second bowl. Overall a really great dining experience which I appreciated when you pay those prices.
I celebrated a birthday at the Rec Pier and had a wonderful experience. The food was great. The staff was knowledgeable and professional. The ambiance was exquisite. Highly recommend the fine dining experience to everyone.
We love the space and the vibe, but the food is not worth the hefty price tag. We'll be back, but probably just for drinks and appetizers.
Fantastic neighborhood gem!! Great top notch service, perfect seating options, clean open dining area, beautiful bar area and delicious food items.
I've visited for brunch and dinner and I've been wow'd each time. The menu isn't too elaborate but they perfect the items they do offer. I definitely appreciate this local escape to fine dining when nearby.
The food was very disappointing, particularly after the glowing review I had read. In particular, my wife and I did not like the trout dish, which lacked flavor and was overpriced. Also, instead of having one server serve our table, we had approximately five different servers come up to us throughout the course of the meal. It wasn't clear to me why so many servers were necessary.
Both food and service was amazing. Highly recommend
Great experience. Food was really good and service was great. Prices are a little high but overall it was a good experience.
The food from antipasti to dessert was excellent. More than enough to fill you up with the four courses.
The place is expensive so be prepared. The noise level was high until an adjoining group left, then a conversation could be undertaken without screaming. The setting is wonderful.
A typical high end but not great hotel type restaurant. The place is big and a bit frenetic and loud. We were a couple celebrating an anniversary and they put us side by side in a booth for eight persons because they seem to have a lot of them. The wait staff and kitchen seemed a bit overwhelmed. The food is overall good and the steaks and fish quality is very good. My tuna crudo was excellent. However, if you are a steak house you should be able to cook steak properly and correctly the first time. My steak was underdone (requested medium) and the french fries which accompanied it were cold as though they had been sitting around for quite a while before being served. My wife's scallops were fresh and cooked properly but not especially memorable. The service is OK but they use the "team system" and the primary waiter was not attentive after the runners brought the food and didn't check back unless I flagged him down. The manager seemed concerned though and did comp the steak for not being prepared correctly (I didn't ask but he did it anyway which was nice). The prices for both food and wine are quite high and the overall value (food prep, service, atmosphere and ambiance) just isn't there for this high price point.
Although the lunch menu is limited in options compared to similar caliber establishments, the choices offered are great. From sandwiches to salads, crab cakes to Chicken Parmesan, you will not walk away unsatisfied. Very attentive wait staff.
Beautiful restaurant with excellent food and service! Top notch!
Excellent service. Food was nice for our special occasion (anniversary).
The poor experience started with a mojito missing the rum and a spritzer missing the "spritz". Next was when the server told us we had to order our app and main course at the same time because it was so busy, less than a third of the tables were occupied. Then came the octopus salad with what tasted like freezer burned octopus. Crab cake was good. Then came the swordfish which also tasted as having been frozen. 8oz filet mignon was good. The finale was the $300 bill dropped on the table before we could order a final round of after dinner drinks. Dining room was still at less than 50% capacity. We have dinner out at least 3 times a week and this was by far the worst experience in years. Too many other choices in town for the same cost or less that are much better.
Great ambiance, huge disappointment. Considering only two other tables were there, we had four different servers and had to ask several times for basic items like cream for coffee (which was lukewarm and bad.) The “frittata” entree that was mushroom themed had barely any mushrooms (and only button mushrooms at that), no other veggies, and was akin to a poorly seasoned HoJo omelette. Side of bacon was see-thru thin, over priced and worse than grocery store brand. Even if it was plain, it wasn’t even good. Simple can be delicious and this was terribly over priced and poor quality, with poor service.
We were really looking forward to this dinner as we had heard very good reviews but we were disappointed. VERY pricey for mediocre food. Cocktails were good. The Flying Fox was delicious. My husband then wanted to try the MD Craft beer they had listed on the menu but they had no keg on that line. We order a Caesar salad as an appetizer based on a recommendations from the server, but she came back to tell us they were out of romaine lettuce. My husband ordered a NY strip steak ($57!!) and it was not very good at all. Lots of fat and a rubbery texture. I ordered the Pasta with crab meat which was strongly recommended by the server and it was just OK. The menu description is just "spicy MD crab meat" which failed to mentioned the many many jalapenos in the dish. If we ever go back, it will just be for drinks. Not worth the money by any means.
The food was very good. Our shared steak should have bee warmer.
Would definitely go back. Food and setting outstanding Service was very good, until the end, waited for coffee, cream never came, finally did . coffee was cold, asked for a to go.
Food was delicious and service was spectacular!
Quick lunch with a friend. Dined here several times. Promptly seated at nice table in most attractive setting. Service was attentive and professional. Burger for me and Caesar salad for my guest.
$16 for a Caesar was acceptable however when chicken added there was up-charge of $14. So $30 for a chicken Caesar seemed bit over the top for simple lunch at any restaurant. Restaurant is a great addition to the area and expect to pay premium prices however this sure seems excessive.
Service was great! All servers helped one another and we constantly had someone check on us. It was wonderful!
Portions were much smaller than expected for the price. Should list the entrees under a “small plates” label. Kids meals entirely too small for the price. Tucked us in a dark corner of the restaurant on a sunny day. Both of us had queasy stomachs after eating at this establishment.
Food is always good, not great but very good. Only one type of potato to go with a large steak selection?
Service was very friendly and enjoyable albeit somewhat inattentive. Having the right utensils, pouring our own wine, ensuring dietary requests were followed through all were less detractions
In the past we have been very happy but our service was not very good this past Saturday. One of our guests had an allergy and they mixed up the entrees and also removed the sides from the table without asking and/or seeing if we wanted to take them to go. Very disappointed compared to prior visits.
