Ristorante Castello at Blue Bell
One of our favorite restaurants. Food, service always outstanding. We had out of town friends with us and they were 100% happy.
Not Great at all. Food is average. Service is OK. We had a big feminine sweaty guy as a waiter. He was nice until he found out my kids, 24 and 20 years old were paying for dinner. Then he completely ignored us for the last 45 minutes of our time there. Why? No clue. We had to physically get up and walk the bill to the cashier. Lame. Nasty. Weird. This place was great a few years ago. Now it is POOR and we will be sure to let everyone know about it. Ristorante you suck-ello.
All good, attentive staff, very helpful waiter (John), very good food.
Our first time. Delicious meal. Fried calamari was perhaps removed from the fried a little too early. Sole perfectly done. Scallops were delightful. Would have preferred to know that the chocolate cake was made with rum; delicious but a surprise. And my favorite peeve, not giving the prices of the items on the (expansive) specials list. All in all an enjoyable meal.
Our meal at Castello was excellent. The service was friendly and welcoming. We highly recommend Castellos if you're looking for a quiet night out with exquisite food!
Our waitress was very friendly and helpful. The runners were very good and someone was there if we needed anything.
Definitely will return.
Food and service unparalleled. This was a first date with someone new. The ambiance, perfect, the staff helped one another out. Timing was perfect, and not once, did we ever feel rushed. The food was just as wonderful as the service. I recommend.
I’m glad to see they have been able to hire a couple of young wait staffers. I am sure with training they will be almost as efficient as long tenured staff.
We were very impressed by the menu. Everything looked amazing on paper. We had a hard time choosing what to get. As it turned out, the appetizers (gnocchi and fried calamari) were the high points of the meal. The entrees were ok but way too salty. Needlessly so. But the real problem was the service, which was embarrassingly slow. There’s a note in the menu asking guests not to stay for more than two hours out of courtesy to other guests. But the service was so slow it wouldn’t have been possible to stay for less than two hours. Not sure what was going on. It wasn’t very crowded. Atmosphere is charming and restrooms were very nice and clean. Dessert was yummy. Pride was a little high but not unreasonable.
Food was very bland. My clams were chewy and the pasta undercooked. Dessert was excellent. Our waitress was personable but the waiter who brought out dinner leaned and reached across the table when there was plenty of space to walk around.
We had a lovely meal last night with our friends. The food was delicious and there were many wonderful menu choices. The dining room is very nice and it's easy to have a conversation. We weren't really even aware of the other conversations in the room which is nice. Our server was friendly, but overall, had the server been a little more attentive, it would have improved the service rating. It was particularly busy for a Tuesday night, so that's probably why.
Overall, food was good. But, filet was over cooked. Timing was not good. Salads and appetizers came at same time. One meal came 10 minutes before others. Have certainly had better experiences at this restaurant. Hope it was a one time thing.
this was my first time to your place .
we ate in the other dining , not the Main room,
it was full ....the noise level was too loud.
i recommend you do some sound dampening steps
the food was very good
Dinner was absolutely awesome. The Veal & Rack of Lamb were exceptional. The Lemon Tart for dessert was to die for !
Last night was our first time to this restaurant, everything was great, food was delicious, service was great and the atmosphere was nice. My friend and I ordered a chicken entree and a soft shell crabs entree , plus we had dessert and enjoyed every bite of our food . We definitely will be back to this restaurant
Hosted family of 12 to celebrate our son’s graduation. As always, the food is amazing. Unfortunately this trip, it took forever to get the food.
My family has enjoyed Ristorante Castello since it first opened in Lansdale. We have always had well-prepared food of first-rate quality ingredients. The staff is friendly and professional. Can't wait for my next visit!
Although a noisy large group kept our conversation challenging, the food was excellent, the waitress perfectly attentive. We’ll be back.
Took friends there for the first time and we all had delicious meals.
Always a great experience at Castello; this visit was no exception. Of course my date chose the better meal, but mine was delicious!
Always an excellent meal. We love the artichokes and the bronzino, but the rest of the menu is great as well.
Love the way the service staff works together. Though not on the menu ask for the hazelnut ravioli... it’s fantastic!
First thoughts when pulling in was it was a tad confusing to find. Once inside we were greeted and seated right away which was nice, however we weren't exactly sure who our sever was as there were 3 people taking care of us with little communication which was odd. I got the lobster and crab bisque which was delicious, however the scallops that came with my ravioli meal tasted like ammonia which usually means they were starting to decay before they were cooked (EW). On top of this the staff members who were not our servers were very rude. Overall I was not impressed and will not be back, nor would I recommend this place to anyone else.
One of our favorite restaurants
Our first visit...we'll be back! We had two salads and two fish entrees, all from the specials menu. Everything was fresh, interesting, beautifully presented and tasted delicious.
Our meals were outstanding and we love the quality of the food. The service was and is always very good but the night we went they were obviously understaffed. It really wasn't a problem and it will not influence our decision to return but it was apparent. Otherwise Ristorante Castello is a gem and I would recommend it highly.
Food was very good, service, on a slow night , was pathetic .. Party of 5, 4 dinners were served at more or less same time, though one was the Bronzino special, with the smallest piece of fish ever served ..alas, 5 minutes later , another plate of Bronzino was provided, must have found the rest of portion! 5 th entree was delivered 10-15 minutes after the first 4.. bread? Oilve Oil was there, no bread..we asked the server for bread , yet never arrived...Water? You get one glass...not a refill to be found... for a place that wants to compete with other white linen table cloth restaurants, this place is lacking...It was our first visit, and shame on us..we should have stayed with Blue Bell Inn.
Seated outside on a cool night but kept warm by lamps.
The octopus appetizer was outstanding. We enjoyed a fillet, the mushroom risotto, and the cioppino and all was very good
Perfect place to catch up with friends. Food was excellent!
Great food, service and very enjoyable.
2 of us ordered the tuna special. It was topped with a large sweet scallop and cooked perfectly. Service was attentive and as customers we felt appreciated. Will be back.
Great time great food. Enjoy every time we go. Service is always great. Plus it's A BYOB
The dining rooms are beautiful, but we prefer outdoor seating. The outside patio is adjacent to the parking lot, but it is still nice. The food is delicious and the specials are thoughtfully designed and executed.
Been there for the first time and it will not be the last! We had langostine and mussels seafood pasta, porcini pasta, burata salad with arugula and a very delicious sauce, fried calamari and bruschetta was if you want to drink wine it is BYOB, for others they have a bar.
Our food as always was excellent, that is one of the reasons why I brought my cousin who is from Italy there. She speaks with a heavy accent. I mention the accent because our waiter mocked her. He was so rude. He kept saying well I’m Irish so I don’t know what that is. He ripped the menu out of my hands after we ordered two entrees , well there was three of us, so I didnt even have a chance to tell him my order before he was gone from the table. This went on and on. My advice is if you don’t care for people, find a new job! Because being hospitable and providing a good service is what this Industry is all about.
Had not been here for some time and was better than ever!! Can’t wait to return.
One of the best meals we've had in a long time. My husband is still raving about his veal chop!!
We celebrated my husband’s birthday at Castello’s with our two young children. We sat outside next to beautiful outdoor heaters. The staff was very friendly to our daughters and accommodating to children’s food choices. Our meals were delicious. We had a lovely night and look forward to visiting again!
