One of the oldest Indian restaurants in Raleigh, North Carolina, Royal India Restaurant offers quality Indian cuisine in North Carolina. Dear friends, we hope you are taking care of yourselves during these times. Royal India is not offering regular lunch buffet. Instead, we offer 7 lunch specials daily that provide a selection of our buffet. You have a choice to order Vegan & Vegetarian (Palak Paneer, Daal Makhani, Mixed Veg); and Non-Vegetarian (ButterChicken, Chicken Tandoori, Chicken Curry, Goat Masala) dishes. Each dish comes with naan, samosa appetizer and a dessert.

Our waitress was delightful, the other gentleman who assisted with service was a bit gruff and maybe needs some pointers on service. Almost all of the food was very good. My naan on my Thali plate was burnt but everything else was really good! Highly recommend takeout as that appears to be the main business here.

Royal India has a fantastic selection of Indian dishes that are not easily found at other places. I ordered a sizzling royal sampler and it was fantastic. This is one of the oldest Indian restaurants in Raleigh and it is clear why it has been around for so long!

Royal India was very authentic and an amazing experience for our first Indian cuisine. Wait staff is very different from usual, be we did not mind. Everything came out very quickly, hot, and delicious. The restaurant itself was warm and the food has a base spice so dress accordingly.

Arrived on time for reservation, place was half empty an still had to wait 20 minutes before anyone acknowledged us. Ordered food finally and when it was brought, no one even explained what dish was which. We were missing a couple dishes and it took 2 requests to finally get them at the end of our meal. Totally not impressed… and that wasn’t my first experience at this place. Probably not going back

Wow - excellent dinner - lots of Indian restaurants around but hard to find a good one. This one far exceeded my expectations. The owner and family been there 31 years. Great service- recommendations spot on. After we finished and we’re boxing rest to take home, he brought us extra rice to take and a complementary dessert. Best way to say it - we’ll be back!”

Ram, the owner, was an absolutely amazing host. Made sure that my girlfriend and I enjoyed every minute of our experience and engaged in really enjoyable conversations with us here and there. Royal is authentic and by far my favorite Indian place to eat in the triangle.

AMAZING Covid precautions...in order to enter the restaurant one must first get their temp scanned automatically by a thermometer attached to the wall AND then properly sanitize your hands. Thank you for that extra layer of protection!!! Food was incredible as always

We went to eat on Thanksgiving. It was not crowded and we got good service. The food was good. I would eat the Vegan from now on. I do think they are doing their best during Covid to maintain all safety rules. The building is older and needs a good cleaning. I saw the wood work was dirty and the doors going in and out needed to be cleaned. As well as the bathroom. Was on the high end in price I would say. I'm sure when they had a buffet it was good, not so sure now.

We went to Royal India as a team of 17 during Diwali 2020. The ambience was very pretty and appealing. The appetizers were quite less in quantity but the taste was good nevertheless. I enjoyed the mutton Kheema. The food was very standard and you will not be disappointed. The Dal tadka was a star, and I really enjoyed the Mutton Rogan Josh, and the Mutton Biryani as well. They had a huge array of options to choose from and the service was quick. In terms of Covid Precautions, they had a limited customers only and there was a temperature check before allowing people inside. Overall it was a good experience.

Service and food were amazing! He showed us how to eat certain dishes. Taste was amazing. My only issue was no air conditioning on a hot 90+ day but other than that, perfect. Will be going back!

The food was amazing. However, the service was awful. We sat for 15 before being greated. They forgot to make my dinner and forgot 2 of our drinks that we ordered. I ended up getting my tandoori chicken, but everyone else was done eating by that time.
