What Insiders Are Saying
We wanted to hate it, but we can’t. RPM Steak can hang with the Chicago steakhouse classics any day.
I decided to have lunch at RPM for my 42nd Birthday. RPM has an electrifying atmosphere and the entire staff was very courtesy. Spoiler alert the Coal Alaskan king crab legs are marvelous.
Good service & ambiance. Dessert was outsized!
I love the restaurant....the service and food is impeccable!
Business dinner of 5. Food was absolutely delicious and the entire evening delighted our out-of-town clients. Thank you!!
Plush room — no windows to the street so it’s a little dark for lunch. Tried the Caesar salad and the kale salad. Both rather bland. But potato chips served in lieu of bread, so that’s nice. If I return it will be to try the steak.
We had an excellent first time experience. The food was equal to or better than other steak houses in town. Our waitress was informed, pleasant, and did not rush us. Lunch menu choices were sufficient in number and quality.
The Duke was absolutely mouth watering. Paired perfect with the Kith & Kin Cab. Can't wait to go back.
Doesn't have the vibe as a Gibson's or Joe's Stone Crab, but the food was delicious. (Fries were cold, but they replaced them immediately).
Nice chill out restaurant, with no pretense.
Was decent. Good quality with no good or bad surprises.
Steak were cooked perfect and kelly was the perfect host for our fathers day dinner
Everything was great except hostess team not charismatic
Great every single time! RPM Steak is my favorite restaurant in Chicago!
The service was great, our order was correct and came out accordingly. But my steak was over cooked and under seasoned. I requested my steak to be cooked medium and it arrived medium well. It needed salt as well.
Dinner was amazing. Our server was knowledgeable, friendly and professional. I had the steak tartare, Japanese wagyu, and hubs and I shared spinach and mushrooms, plus chocolate cake for dessert. Everything was excellent. We’ll be back!
I always give RPM rave reviews. 5 stars. But, this time my husband and I ordered the dry aged cowboy steak. Usually they slice the steak and it melts in your mouth. This time, they cut it in half and it was tough. Other than the flavor the specialty salt gives the steak, it was tough. We were disappointed this time. All the other sides and salads were great as usual. It stinks when you spend $84 for a tough steak.
Get the Tiger Prawns and Cheddar Popovers. Then get a nice entree. Yummy.
Fantastic food and great service. The restaurant had a wonderful ambiance and we really enjoyed the experience
Great service and excellent ambiance and dinner. We will definitely be returning.
Everything was amazing! The food outstanding! First time
Splurging on waygu. We did a filet and then a waygu filet and then waygu and it was absolutely fabulous!
This was a very nice restaurant with a wonderful atmosphere, very upscale but also can be a casual experience as well depending upon what it is that you are celebrating. Do not expect a 2 to 3 page menu, I am sure that this restaurant is looking to have a smaller size menu so they can focus and concentrate on a few dishes . Our waiter was a very nice gentleman and very knowledgeable about all of the dishes . They had an extensive wine list that can’t be compared to many. I definitely will go here again but I would not make my list of favorites but a very very nice restaurant.
Great place great ambiance treated like royalty by server
Too cold too dark too impersonal
The glass of wine should be served at the table with the bottle and was not
After having a nice dinner I felt like the staff was rushing for us to leave our table, but other than that it was a nice experience.
Great food and better staff! Great time
The food, service, and ambiance were all good, but the value wasn't. I have had better steak for a third of the cost, so I assume we were paying for the location and possibly the name recognition.
Food is always good. Love the hamachi crudo and the steak frites. Was bothered by the constant chair reshuffling and table reconfiguration next to us. Disruptive to conversation.
The food and service were outstanding. Expensive but wonderful. It wasn't too noisy to have a business dinner. We had a great experience.
Took my sister for her first time. Excellent.
Dessert was terrible. It was a carrot and coconut cake that was mostly icing with very little cake. Everything was over priced even for a high end steak house. Our waiter was very good and the atmosphere was nice but my husbands steak was not of high quality and mine was rather tasteless. Would not recommend it
Loved it. Server was AWESOME, and atmosphere was amazing.
Best restaurant in Chicago since Trotters
Food was amazing , the staff was wonderful just great experience over all
Birthday - loved theHappy Birthday cotton candy bowl!
Food was incredible! Loved everything about the entire night, from the atmosphere to the staff, and absolutely loved the meal!
Amazing experience and 5 star food. Great location and super friendly staff!!!
We were at RPM for a client’s retirement. Excellent time had by all and our server, Scott was outstanding.
Truly one of the best steakhouses in Chicago. Coal roasted crab might be one of the best appetizers I have had anywhere.
This was our second time @ RPM Steak for my husband’s birthday! I can’t say enough great things about our experience the other night! I keep craving every bite of food and may need to get back sooner than later! They even made me like, not tolerate brussels sprouts... we definitely enjoyed every bite and sip from the fatty appetizers (thick cut bacon glazed with bourbon and vanilla and Brie fondue) to the impressive desserts (cotton candy & baked Alaska)! Also, the mock-tail suggested by the waiter was by far the best I’ve had in my 6 months pregnant... it “almost” made me not miss real cocktails and wine! The best part was our waiter, Tony... he was attentive, but let us enjoy our meal! Everyone should get to have such a great celebration!
