Ruth's Chris Steak House - Gaithersburg
Ruth's Chris Steak House was founded in New Orleans, Louisiana by Ruth Fertel, a single mother of two who wanted a better life for herself and her two sons. She purchased "Chris" steakhouse in New Orleans which had been operated for the 38 years prior. She changed the name to Ruth's Chris when a fire forced her to move from the original location. Today, there are 142 Ruth’s Chris Steak House restaurants across the globe. We look forward to our opening in Gaithersburg, MD.
It was our anniversary & I was so happy with the service. I felt like all of the staff contributed to our great evening!
Michael did a great job!!!
Bsolutelt wonderful! We went for our anniversary and everyone who greeted us, the hostess, the waitress, the manager all wished us a happy annivwrsary. When we got to our table, it was decorated with some cute confetti and a card personalized with wishes for a hapy anniversary. It was nice. The service was pleasant and the food was quite yummy! The crab stack appetizer was a little spicy with lump crab meat, mango, cucumber, onion, avocado, and vinaigrette. The steak was cooked perfectly and very tender. We were even surprised with a creme brulee desert with a candle and freah berries with chicolate writing of happy anniversary. We will be back!
The service was outstanding; the food was very good with the exception of our dessert (Chocolate Duo) which was meh. The only thing that felt "off" was the inconsistency with their stated dress code vs. what they allow. We received a reminder about their dress code when they confirmed my reservation and there are posted signs when you enter the restaurant. This is expected in a restaurant with this level of food and service. Some of the diners were far under dressed per their code. This would be fine if they didn't make a point of the reminder and the signage. Either enforce it or don't.
Definitely a go-to for special occasions!
We got sat down in a very dark place away from everyone. They didn’t ask us it the would be ok. The location wasn’t crowded. The food not ok for the price we paid. A Tbond steak that costs around $55 dollars and it wasn’t tasting good????
I am a very disappointed ☹️. I’d rather want to get my money back. I didn’t enjoyed.
Really poor service. His is our second time there, and we won’t return. Not in the same league as Morton’s or Cap Grill.
The sommelier was extremely helpful and knowledgeable!
Good was sub par, waiters were ok. Manager was confrontational and overall it was not a good experience.
We were celebrating a special occasion and Ruth's Chris made it memorable. Our table was decorated and a hand-written card wished us a happy anniversary. The wait staff was warm and attentive and our steaks were perfectly prepared and delicious. Thank you, Ruth's Chris.
Superior everything for this senior couple: A cozy booth where we could sit side-by-side (we're hard-of-hearing. Fun cocktails and appetizers to begin, a couple of very nice and fairly-priced reds to pair with the steak, and a dessert from the special 3-course menu, made for an affordable but luxury evening for us. Next to our table were 5 young women -- looked like high school seniors , diverse, well-behaved, clearly enjoying a nice dinner together in adult surroundings. (Here's a shout-out to their parents: Thanks for helping share a bright future for our great country.) And we appreciated the attention of "Da", our gracious and friendly server. A really well-managed place that makes "chain" seem like "home", thanks.
Steak was undercooked. Lobster was rubbery. Didn't have the time or energy to send them back. We will never order the lobster there again.
We are repeat customers from just a Friday dinner to birthdays. Kiersten always looks out for us. It our family’s regular go to at least once when we’re all together. The scallops are a great addition to the menu.
The service was great, the food was delicious and the restaurant was nice and quiet.
Entire staff was very helpful and made the evening a success!! Thanks to all. Ed
Da (waiter’s name), At Ruth Chris always takes the extra step to make sure dining at Ruth Chris is a good time all around.
Food was amazing. Anthony, our server, was very, very good.
Waiters were very attentive and catered to us for an enjoyable experience.
I ordered filet with shrimp which was a mistake, as my companions' ribeyes were so much tastier. The ribeyes were fork tender with nice external char and were absolutely delicious. Sides of garlic mash had roasted garlic taste and some texture. My favorite course of the evening was the hot chocolate cake -- not exactly a lava cake but similar -- with a taste that was reminiscent of good hot chocolate.
It was very delicious as we celebrated or 34 wedding anniversary! Our server- Fa- was very friendly and made us feel very special !
Excellent service, superior wine list, steaks actually done the way you want them. A wonderful expreince all around.
Excellent service, excellent food, very professional and friendly staff and easy access to restaurant.
Our server was so accomodating. He suggested mint jelly with my lamb chops which i don’t know since this is our second time to dine in ordering the same thing. It’s just that the table is so small that if we order for more it won’t fit on the table for two. But aside from that definitely will be going there again.
Good but overrated. Not worth the price I've had better steak and lobster tails elsewhere.
To management ..... How can you permit ripped and damaged chairs to be in the bar area. This is my 3rd visit in 2019
The food was not as enjoyable as it usually is for me when I dine with Ruth’s Chris. The service was also not very good. Our waiter was not attentive to us at all.
Waiter dropped one of the drinks on the table and my wife’s steak was badly over cooked. Otherwise we enjoyed ourselves but definitely pricey.
Anthony and Sam our servers were outstanding as was the food. Our only suggestion is that the Red wines should be chilled. You have many very nice bottles of red wine. It is a shame that you choose to serve them at room temperature instead of the recommended 56 degrees.
Da is excellent! He is very attentive and pleasant. Food is great and even prepared our table for a birthday celebration. Steak is perfectly cooked and tbe ahi tuna is delish.
The restaurant is inconsistent. This time, the service was inattentive, as we sat with empty glasses often, had completed the seafood tower and sat for about 10 minutes with shells sitting on the table and no "lemon-scented" warm towels, even though we asked for them twice, then received warm towels with no lemon scent; the meal came and the table was only half-cleared from the appetizers.
Then, the meal - one steak was mis-ordered, so we got the "benefit" of the "better" steak at the originally ordered price... misses the point that it was not what was ordered and was not what was preferred; Tomahawk ribeye was not evenly cooked throughout; baked potato was small and asparagus appeared as if they ran out and had to grab an order from the Harris Teeter across the street.
The desserts were very good.
I know this was just an off night, as we have had great meals here in the past.
Best dinner ever! Our dinner was for a special occasion and we were treated like royalty. So, I highly recommend Ruth Chris’s steakhouse for the best dinner that money can buy!!
Subpar steakhouse. Good food not great with TGIFs service
Great food pretty good service. Drinks coming after appetizer was only disappointment.
We had a fantastic night here. Both the food and the service were impeccable.
Food and service was impeccable. He location however had a must smell that downgraded my rating to a 4 star....as for the service it was very good. My dinner companions enjoyed the filet, crab cakes and New York Strip....New York Strip was far the best steak of the night.
Even though it was heavy with butter....its not an everyday meal to eat at Ruth’s so it was well worth it.
Asparagus, brussel sprouts with bacon, mashed potatoes all delicious.
Our server was incredibly polite and helpful. The steaks were amazing. My family enjoyed eating here.
The steak seemed to be prepared differently than normal. It tasted good but previous steaks have tasted great. We love this place and will be back again soon!
Great ambience. Primary Waiter was amazing and a pleasure. Cocktails, steaks, and side dishes were very well prepared. However, frequently interrupted by side waiter who was constantly refilling our water glasses even when they were nearly full. Also, lobster tails were very disappointing, almost rubbery.
Everything was very good except the food. The BBQ Shrimp was not BBQ and was not special. My steak seemed steamed rather than Broiled I have eaten in many Steak Houses and this CowBoy Rib Eye did not compare. I paid premium prices for sub par food. .
