Ruth's Chris Steak House - Gaithersburg
Ruth's Chris Steak House was founded in New Orleans, Louisiana by Ruth Fertel, a single mother of two who wanted a better life for herself and her two sons. She purchased "Chris" steakhouse in New Orleans which had been operated for the 38 years prior. She changed the name to Ruth's Chris when a fire forced her to move from the original location. Today, there are 142 Ruth’s Chris Steak House restaurants across the globe. We look forward to our opening in Gaithersburg, MD.
Great service with Top notch quality.
Wonderful customer service
When we celebrated my husband's birthday in July at Ruth Chris in Gaithersburg, I knew we had to come back for my birthday celebration in September. Staff is wonderful...very attentive without being intrusive. Table is nicely decorated with Happy Bday wishes. I had the Sea Bass. Good flavor especially with the sauce on top. My husband had the strip steak and he shared a couple of bites. So much flavor and tender...perfectly cooked. Crème Brule is the best! Enjoyed our evening there!
Steaks were all undercooked. One $65 steak was filled with fat and gristle. Horrible experience
Excellent food. Had a small issue w/the steak I ordered but management took exceptional care of everything. It didn't feel as cozy as it once was but overall the evening was delightful and our visitors enjoyed it tremendously.
Services over the top the food was amazing
Great salads & steaks. Chicken skimpy for $50, too much cheese, not enough chicken, mostly bone. Garlic mashed potatoes overly buttery. Chocolate mousse & lemon bars wonderful. Pinot Noir excellent.
Great place to grab a good steak ! It’s mostly for the older crowd though!
Everything was great
Very enjoyable meal. Filet Mignon is always done perfectly. The sides are great, especially the sweet potato casserole. Will go back.
Great food. Great time.
When my entree was served, I touched the “hot plate” trying to move it out of the way of the server who was putting my potato on the table and burned the hell out of my fingers. They brought me a glass of ice water and burn cream, which was - oh so handy. Apparently this must happen frequently. They need to say “Do NOT touch the plate, you will get 1st degree burns!” Not just “hot plate.” Dinner was 2 hours ago, and my fingers are swollen, red and hurt a lot! They didn’t even offer to comp so much as a glass of wine. I will never eat here again. Dinner was delicious but walked out in serious pain! Not worth it in the long run.
We celebrated 4 birthdays!! Jacob our waiter did a very good job!
Food was amazing and so was our server Matt. We will be back!
Adam our server was great ! Had a wonderful dinner with my kids
Excellent food and service. I have dined at this restaurant several times and have never been disappointed.
The atmosphere was amazing and the service and food were excellent
Took 15 minutes for a waiter to come and take my drink order and even then, I had to ask someone else to get him for me. The bread was cold and hard. My drink and my food were excellent, but I come for the service I receive at other Ruth Chris’. I was very disappointed.
Food and service were great. The waiter was very attentive and took time explaining the menu.... and gladly made recommendation substitutions or switches to accomdodate various tastes or diet. The setting in a new suburban plaza seemed a little cheap.... in that the food and service matched with the price, but the setting didn’t.
I feel like Ruth's Chris is overrated. It is overpriced for what you get, and the ambiance is very generic. Definitely better for happy hour than an actual sit down meal.
Had dinner here Dec. 2017 and all was good. This visit 5 of us were celebrating husb/dad birthday. The service was poor, dirty tablecloth had to be replaced, slit made in top of filet, wth ?? The plates of meat were not sizzling. Sun shining in our eyes but no change upon request even tho they said they would. Don't plan to return.
I come from Frederick, MD., just to get a steak from Ruth's Chris in Gaithersburg. The meal selection is alway great and the atmosphere inside of the restaurant is quiet and comfortable. The waitstaff are always professional and friendly and made my outing pleasurable for both me and my wife. They have a large selection of wines to choose from and its always great to get help when selecting the best type of wine for the meal that you are ordering. My steak was cooked and seasoned to perfection and was very tender. Ruth's Chris is my favorite place to go when I want a tasty and delicious meal. I recommend this restaurant to any and all who want a romantic and fantastic meal.
Great as always!!!
Food was very buttery including the sea bass and medium steaks were cooked well done
My overall experience was Ok. They called to remind me that they have a dress code, which was a first for me at a Ruth's Chris. We have dinned at Ruth's Chris all over the Country, so I thought it was funny that they had to remind the clients of this in Gaithersburg. The Hostess was unimpressive, and I felt like a bother to Her when we asked to change tables. (their boots are super tight, and I'm only 5'8".)
Overall good experience but be it took an unnecessarily long time for dinner to come out and when it did unfortunately my steak was over cooked. Management was quick to correct the steak brining a perfectly cooked one out and fresh sides quickly. They also covered a glass of wine with dinner. But my wife and I still ended up watching each other eat rather than sharing a dining experience. I did commend management and our waiter on their service recovery.
For the price that they are charging for their food, I expect something extra. Something special that makes it stand out and make me want to come back and spend more money.
To start, the room we were seated in was not lit very well and the tables which they presume could seat 4, only have enough room to fit 2 people comfortably (we were a party of 3). Any dining room should be lit with warm light which creates an environment in which people want to eat.
The food was okay. Everything (the steak, lobster, salmon, and crab cakes) were all prepared well. But it didn't stand out and it wasn't memorable. It was nothing special worthy of the price but it was merely acceptable.
What was not acceptable was the service. Our waitress (Jenn) was cold and aloof. We told her we needed just a little more time to look over the menu and she never came back. I had to get the hostess to call our waitress. Also, it seemed like we were inconveniencing her just by sitting at our table. To put it simply, I didn't feel appreciated and it makes me not want to go back.
So nice to have a special occasion place close to home. Great food. Pricey, but good.
We went to Ruth Chris for father's day and we had a wonderful experience. We were greeted with a warm welcome. Our waiter went above and beyond to explain the menu and take time with us. Our meal was prepared exactly to our liking. Everything was perfectly timed - we were not rushed. They also presented my father with a gift card for a future visit. Wonderful experience - they made our day. Very happy!
Service was excellent. Filet was not seasoned. Very bland.
Had the worst table in the dining room and was not offered any other option bedsides the bar..
Food was good but the décor was lacking. The server was excellent and obviously knew how to attend to guests.
The food, service and atmosphere were all very good. It's just kinda pricey. Except for special occasions we'd probably settle for a little more noise and a less refined atmosphere in favor of a comparable quality meal, but at 1/3 less cost.
We celebrated my husband's birthday and had a delicious meal. The crab, avocado, mango appetizer is amazing!
Went with large party. Food, service all good. Very nice bar. Would definitely return when I'm back in the area.
Wonderful! Henry is the best waiter on the planet, PERIOD!
We found the items we chose for dinner were exceptional. The waiter was quick to recover from the salad that fell from the plate. Ruth's Classic meals are a quick and easy choice from the menu.
