Wow, what an exceptional lunch we had on Saturday as part of Brightons Octoberbest event! We had a beautiful table, its a wonderful light restaurant, and the surroundings are fresh and clean. Simple decor, to showcase the fabulous food! The bread with niso butter to start was amazing, followed by the amazing scallops mousse. So good! The fish main was incredible and then the dessert absolutely decadent! I am not a dessert person, so it was quite rich for me, half the amount would have been plenty, but it didnt go to waste as my partner LOVES sweet things. Win win! The staff were perfectly attentive, quick but not too much. Subtle professional service. Even the owner/chwf came to say hello after service which was a really personal yet professional touch. Overall, a faultless occasion. Thank you!

Brighton
About the restaurant
There’s a saying in Japan, ‘Ichi-go ichi-e,’ which means, every moment is one-of-a-kind and something to be treasured. This is the philosophy of our neighbourhood restaurant FUMI, located in the centre of Brighton.
A slow restaurant in a fast-moving city, FUMI is a place where flavours, service and interiors are harmonious.
A simple Japanese inspired menu driven by the seasons, our moods and by whatever is fresh and exciting in the moment.

At FUMI, we source all our produce, meats and fish from small, local suppliers. Nothing is mass-produced or served out of season, with everything we create coming directly from the farm to your table. Each meal at FUMI is a celebration of bountiful harvests, beloved community, and our favourite pairing of food and friends.
We hope you enjoy.
