Sake no Hana
The dining room is lovely and the staff were great for the most part. However, given the cost I think the food lacked a real wow factor and was a little underwhelming. London has some great mid-range Japanese restaurants that would provide food as good as here at a fraction of the price so a little disappointing.
Nice restaurant with curious location you reach via escalator. The food was very good and, excusing the somewhat business crowd the room is nice. However I was annoyed that having booked the £39 deal I wasn’t given that menu. First time of asking for the lunch deal menu I was pointed to a set of £48 bento boxes. Only having checked my email from Opentable was I able to finally extract the correct menu from my waiter, who was pretty surly for the rest of the meal. Not what was expected.
Service terrible, food incredible
A big fan of Sake no Hana. They never fail to impress. Excellent service, delicious food and increasingly catering for vegetarians and vegans too. Perfect for a business lunch, romantic meal or meal with friends. Highly recommended.
Had the set menu. Sushi course was amazing, but my main course (prawn tempura) was a bit bland. Service was very good.
Definitely not what it used to be. Indifferent service. Food took forever. Go elsewhere.
Excellent venue, menu & crew who made my 50th lunch celebrations very special indeed - highly recommended
I Have been in this restaurant multiple times. It is always impeccable.
Favourite restaurant. Amazing food, service and vibe.
Amazing I will definitely go again
I have always loved this place for the food, the atmosphere and before tonight the service has always been excellent, attentive and very efficient. but tonight, its all changed. It's terrible waiting staff team operating last night. Rush rush rush, made assumptions of what we want, didnt give us menu again after our main and just made the assumption that we were ordering desserts. I am genuinely at lost.
However, the food has always been good, but i can see the portion has now reduced significantly, presentation has maintained its very IG-able quality. Atmosphere and decor has always been the loveliest thing about this place.
Good place to go for a special occasion.
The music in back ground was very laud & destabing
wonderful food -close to top restaurants in Japan
For the price point the food was good but not amazing. Service however was very good.
Very slow kitchen output spoilt what would have been a nice dinner
As always. Perfect food with great service. Thank you for looking after us and we will be sure to come back again.
Abbiamo cenato spesso in questo ristorante, sempre una bella occasione per mangiare ottimo sushi
Beautiful room, great food, cocktails and sake. Recommended.
Our experience at Sake no Hana was outstanding. From being greated by the hostesses at the door, to having amazing cocktails at the bar all throughout to our fantastic dinner. We ordered the 4 course set menu, that was amazing and excellent value for money. Decor and ambiance was amazing, a true work of art resembling japanese bamboo forests. The staff were very attentive. Couldn't recommend it enough.
On the set menu with half bottle of wine
We ordered an extra tempura prawn to complement to set menu
Beautiful all round
We tried the dinner course £39 per person and nothing really special.
Came here for my 21st birthday and was thoroughly pleased with the visit. Exceptional service from entrance to table, gorgeous food and incredible atmosphere. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable and the surprise birthday dessert was a nice touch
Excellent food. Nice ambiance. The more expensive meals in the menu are superb!
By far the best Japanese restaurant that I have been to. Everything was PERFECT.
Currently lost for words but it’s definitely a place worth 5 stars.
Great experience, perfect food, drink and service. Could really appreciate the balance of tastes in every single dish.
Great food and service
Horrible inattentive service. Repeatedly had to ask for help.
Have eaten here about six times and it seems to be getting worse each time. Will start looking at others
I took my daughter after work for an early supper. We sat at the counter and enjoyed some of the best food we’ve ever had. It’s not cheap, bit you’re in St James so top prices come with the territory. Genuinely loved the food, we will be going back.
Beyond tasty. I've got to come back, such a unique little gem in the city. -Shay
Informed the restaurant in advance that it was for a 60th birthday and we would be bringing some 60th themed napkins and table decorations. On arrival told this was not allowed as they had their own package.
Menù very poorly structured. Not clear which order the dishes will be served in. Example, we were told the sushi would be served last - it was the first to arrive. One guest had not received any of their choices for almost 2 hours, whilst another guest has received 3 of their choices.
Chosen wine had sold out. Sommelier suggested an alternative, but this was a totally different grape.
Some dishes are grossly overpriced, such as the hot pot rice. Reportedly containsi octopus but this was hardly discernible amongst the meagre bowl of rice.
In short, cramped, extremely disorganised and grossly overpriced for the offering.
Plates were cleared very quickly.
Drinks were poured with drops spread all over the table.
Quality of the food is great but would appreciate a bit more time.
Lovely dinner. Excellent produce, well-made and expertly presented, high quality service (albeit a little pensive at times). Very special atmosphere, beautiful lighting & ambience. A bit steep but worth it for the special occasion. Will definitely be back to sample more of the vegetarian options - there were a surprising amount on and off menu!
This is not my first time visiting Sake no Hana and is not the last. Definitely one of my favourite places in London. I had the joy of eating by the sushi chefs counter and a table. The food is incredible but good food can be found in many places in the city. The SERVICE is AMAZING! From the hostesses welcoming smiles when arriving through the articulate but easy-going waiters, friendly sushi chefs, and incredibly knowledgable sake sommeliers.
My pro tip is: If you want to get the best of the atmosphere - be there early, when the place is full the service will not have the opportunity to have those interesting and engaging conversations that you could have.
Too expensive for what it is and the food was generally forgettable. Superb service and the staff incredibly attentive and kind.
Too much alcohol was offered on the menu for people who are not heavy alcohol drinkers. Would have preferred more effort on the food. Aubergine starter was disgusting, tasted of cheap peanut butter from Asda. The aubergines were cut in very big chunks with no delicacy, it was hard to eat it.
The food lacks Japanese finesse and more attention to detail. The candy floss rib eye steak dish was too soupy and very little steak was added. Truffle rice was delicious and the addition of dill was a clever combination. Sushi and nigiris were good and fresh but not mind blowing.
The puddings were the defining factor, looked very ornate and elaborate but they were tasteless and dull. We tried the matcha roll and the coconut bamboo stick. Both of them looked impressive but tasted of grease. The fruits on their sides that had been soaked on sugar (apricot and kumquat) added nothing to these dishes. The chocolate soil on the bamboo stick had a horrible taste and unpleasant texture.
The venue is very nice and relaxing and we felt very welcome and very cared for by the staff.
I would like to say that I will come back but the food is not good enough, it requires a lot of improvement.
Dear Infant, We appreciate your feedback. It’s great to hear that you loved the service, but we regret to hear that you weren’t happy with the food. We take every comment seriously and have passed your notes along to the team. We do hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back. Sincerely, Anna Kuzmina Maitre`D
Over priced, lacks exceptional presentation and quality for sushi dishes. Very mediocre - sushi was basic.

excellent service and delicious food in a great environment
It’s a gorgeous looking restaurant but the food was average in comparison to the sister restaurant and other similar restaurants. It was a busy night and the service was poor. We had to keep stopping waiters to attend to us because they seemed overwhelmed.
Dear Femio, Thank you for dining with us at Sake No Hana. We appreciate the feedback on our service standards. We take comments such as these very seriously, and you can rest assured they are being addressed. Thank you, and we do hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you back. Best Regards, Anna Kuzmina Maitre’D
Had the 7 course set menu. Best dish was the duck but the rest was forgettable no amazing flavours and a bit bland also the beef balls were not nice tasted over cooked. Service was ok, they forgot my drink twice. 5.9/10
With outstanding food, Sake no Hana is a very pleasant restaurant located conveniently and with extremely friendly staff. In all, our experience was flawless, everyone left satisfied. The price is quite steep, but that is what it costs to have such a fabulous dining experience with drinks at a premium location in London.
Nice bday meal
