Japanese
Sake no Hana bar and restaurant is housed on the first floor of a modernist Grade II listed building in the heart of St James, offering modern Japanese dining. The a la carte menu provides a variety of hot and cold appetisers, charcoal grill, Toban and Kamameshi dishes, while sushi and sashimi are prepared to order at the 13 seat sushi bar. A carefully selected list of sakes, Japanese whiskeys and other wines, spirits and liqueurs complement the dishes offered in the restaurant. Sake no Hana’s interiors were designed my esteemed architect Kengo Kuma and the bar includes a beautiful futuristic chandelier, offering the perfect space for post work cocktails. Cloakroom available. ALIPAY and weChat payment accepted.

This restaurant was definitely an experience. The food was fantastic though quite overpriced for what it was. The service was excellent and the decor was beautiful.

We have been to Sake no Hana several times and this was a bit of a disappointment. We had the sushi Saturday and they have changed the menu slightly, not for the better in our opinion. We felt rushed through the seven courses and twice had plates removed while still eating! Overall it was ok which is a shame as we used to love Sake no Hana.

Great evening and like the attention to detail when we made a passing comment it was a birthday celebration and presented with a birthday customised dessert

Great food - we did a tasting menu and added a few items! It was great, however, service wasn’t great, which is pretty typical for London.

Outstanding as always. The 7 course Saturday taster menu is great value for money when celebrating and the food was exquisite. The seabass sashimi was divine and the white chocolate dessert... Wow.

Ordered the Sukiyaki, Tuna Tartare with Caviar, Pot Rice, and the Crab Shell Sushi. Everything was way too salty and the rice was overcooked. Extremely not worth it for the price. Service was just ok.

Sake no hana is a favourite especially the Saturday lunches. The food is exquisite, the staff are lovely - however on this occasion the service from the kitchen was painfully slow. 40 minutes to get any food whatsoever. In total we were there over 3 hours........... it is exhausting and for me anyway, irritating to have to wait SO long between courses.

Loved it. We went for the Saturday deal. Food and drinks for £51pp. Loved the food. The 7 courses were a great range of bits from their main menu. So happy with all the food. Service was average. Bit slow to get to you and deliver drinks etc. But we weren’t in any rush so ultimately was ok.

The restaurant is beautiful, the food is great. Everything was going well until we were told that they needed our table and we had to leave by 8. We had barely finished our dinner and hadn’t even looked at the desert menu. If I had known that we would get kicked out I would not have chosen this restaurant for dinner. We were never told in advance that we were expected to leave early . I’ve never paid $700 for dinner and felt so rushed to finish eating.
Very disappointed.

We went with friends who had eaten there before. Lovely ambiance and staff were superb. The 'tasting' menus seem the way to go....the a la carte was there but looked like it would be much more effort to choose. If you aren't that bothered by constant alcohol with your meal then feel free to forgo the 'beverages flight' which would serve you up drinks to suit the dish. We'd definitely go again and maybe even try a lunch as opposed the dinner we had.

Staffs should take care thier customers more, not leave us alone sit thier with nothing half an hour waiting for a bottle of still water which has been asked for three times. The time we spend in the restaurant waiting to be served and eat was around three hours which is quite bad for a Japanese restaurant.

I took my partner here for his birthday. We love Japanese food and have sampled a lot good quality Japanese food in London and around the world. Sake No Hana was somewhat disappointing, especially given how much they charge for their food and drinks. Small portions, below average service with inattentive staff and not the cosiest of restaurants either. For a medium-sized restaurant, we were also surprised that they only have one unisex toilet. Won’t recommend it if you are looking for good quality Japanese food which is worth its value. Glad we tried it but not sure we would be going back in a hurry. My partner received a birthday plate, as per my request, but contrary to what was agreed they forgot to personalise his birthday plate. It’s the little details that matter, I hope they can learn from this.

Food and service is fabulous but this restaurant is definitely a treat. The prices are exorbitant and the wine list is not welcoming. With such fine food, a glass or two of fine wine is open to wallet abuse. The Wolsey manages to keep your bill under £100 a head so I don’t quite see how this place doesn’t. All this doesn’t matter if you either desire to show off or treat yourself to some rare and fine ingredients masterfully plated. Wagyu beef, truffle, caviar; chuck it all on the plate! You can’t take it with you, indulge if you do desire.
There are far too many staff but they are all charming.
