   Was so impressed by our waiter, who was very young, but professional and friendly. Don't get to this restaurant often-mostly price, but is one of my favorites.

   It was very good and service was excellent. A little too quiet of a mood in the large dining room. I would have preferred being in the main building. Overall great experience and would recommend it to friends.

   Food good. Service was slow. Felt like there was tables with more people were more important than just us being only 2. Waited for drinks for 10 minutes many times. Felt dinner and everything could of went faster. Didn't think dinner would take 2 hours. My date didn't think that much of it. But for me I thought it could of been a lot faster. But that's just me so don't take it to heart. Was a good dinner thank you.

    We requested the bar area and enjoyed that side of the restaurant. We ordered the shrimp cocktail appetizer, Grantwood Filet and the Tenderloin Louisiana. We thought the drink prices were resasonably priced, the wine paired well and the entrees were done as requested. We would recommend Sam's to our friends and family.

    Matt was our Bartender and waiter and did an excellent job! Appetizers, salad, main course and desert all outstanding. Chilean Sea Bass and the Cowboy Steak were incredible. Highly recommend for business or pleasure!

    I live in Affton and have always been curious about Sam's Steakhouse because I love a good steak and have heard good things about the restaurant but never wanted to drop the money to dine there. Well my mom visited me and wanted to take me out for my 30th birthday so it was the perfect opportunity to try it out. The service was excellent. Our server was very kind and attentive although the bus boy was maybe a bit too eager to clear our table. That didn't bother me much, he was young and eager and I can appreciate that he was trying his best. The food was excellent. We had the Shrimp Louisiana for our appetizer. I had the Cowboy Bone-In Ribeye for my entree and my mother had the Grantwood Filet as her entree. The entire meal was absolutely delicious and afterwards they wished me a happy birthday and offered me a desert. The desert the brought me I actually did not see on the menu. It was a chocolate mousse covered in a dark chocolate outer shell that was had a chocolate and raspberry drizzle over top with a side of whipped cream. I was pretty full from the dinner but I couldn't say no to that. It was incredible and a very nice touch to end the meal. I will absolutely recommend Sam's to anyone who asks me about it in the future. It was a meal that I will not forget about any time soon.

    Our food took a good while to arrive, and when it finally did, it was lukewarm. My ribeye was very fatty and underdone. Overall, it was a disappointing experience! Also, our special occasion (although indicated on our reservation) was not acknowledged.

    What a shame to see how much Sam's Steakhouse has gone downhill. It used to be so lovely and so elegant. The service was terrible (and clearly the bussers and servers just aren't trained well at all), and there were just little things falling apart throughout the restaurant (door missing on bathroom stall, lamps with bulbs out, bit unpatched holes in the wall, ceiling damage, really crooked artwork....all small details that show there is just no management or oversight). Hostess was clueless, some of our items were late to come to the table, server forgot one drink, bread never came, etc. Food was decent overall, but for $50 per person (and a $300 bill), I would expect better.

    We were there for a 90th birthday - it was the perfect round table for our group of five. We began with drinks and toasted ravioli-very good! 4 ordered steaks and 1 salmon-every dish was absolutely delicious - the baked potatoes HUGE and yummy- salad on mixed greens could have been cut smaller. The Best was our server Tyler, He was amazing, polite, impeccable timing, professional, service was a 10++. Oh and the bread was very very good!!

    Food and atmosphere was wonderful. The only constructive comment I have is that our particular server was not the most attentive. He was certainly nice but at times didn't check back with us to see if we needed anything. Sam's is a favorite and always our go-to steakhouse.

    For the price, I expected more. Steak was I credible, but wait staff was not very attentive - even after food was delivered, we had to wait 5 minutes for silverware. Another patron was choking aside our table with no comment from staff. Not recommended for a place that will cost you upwards if $100/diner.

    My star ratings are relative to pricing. The overall experience was pretty good; but I'm looking for better than "pretty good" at these prices. Our server was inexperienced and seemed like he wanted to be somewhere else. Uncertain and aloof. He forgot that I ordered a glass of wine with my entree, and after I mentioned it to his assistant, our server dropped the glass of wine off without an apology. The music in the bar area was kind of loud for a fine dining experience, although the overall upbeat tone was enjoyable. The food was very good, but not mind blowing. The Louisiana style sauce was...meh. If your going to sell Cajun and/or Louisiana style anything, it needs to have a kick to it. The flavor was pleasant, but unfulfilling. Overall enjoyable, but not worth the prices. The server was out of his league and woefully disengaged.

We always try to keep cost as low as possible but current supply chain has really taken a hit on restaurants, specifically steak house products. Our cajun cream sauce has been a favorite for over 30 years. Staffing in the current market is tough, but we always do our best with the very best staff available.

    Everything about the dinner was top notch. Especially enjoyed the piano man playing all the oldies. It became a sing a long. I had the tenderloin topped with shrimp. Both were cooked to perfection. The deviled eggs with sweetened pork belly were to die for. Our server Natalie was so on top of everything and was very attentive. Can’t wait to go back for the food and the ambiance. We ate in the bar side so we had to wait 30 minutes from our reservation for a table. That is completely understandable since it is ‘first come…first served’ even with reservations. The only thing that I would change next time is to split an entree and have a couple appetizers since the portions are so big. But I wanted to eat it all. We can’t wait to go back. Congrats Mark Erney for doing a great job managing the restaurant.

    My husband and I celebrated our anniversary last night at Sam’s. From the time we walked in the door until we left we were treated like royalty. The owner Paul sent over complementary champagne and appetizers. The food was amazing and the service was even better. I’ve been coming to Sam’s for many years and have never once had an unpleasant experience. If your looking for a great local owned steakhouse give Sam’s a shot! I promise you won’t be disappointed.

    Waitstaff was attentive and courteous. The 18oz prime rib was not a good as usual, way too fatty and tough. The filet was good. The salad was GREAT....love Mayfair dressing. We appreciate the birthday dessert.

    Made early reservations for the "sweetheart table" at request & for it. Comfy and cozy spot for dinner in the bar area. Dinner was amazing, our steaks melted in our mouths. Madilyn (sp?) Was a fantastic server and very attentive to us. Our water was constantly full as we dined and our wine paired perfectly with our meal. Very satisfied. It made our special evening perfect.

    It’s Valentine’s Day and you’re out on a date . You arrive promptly for your reservation and it’s a beautiful setting . We got sat and saw the fixed menu which was delightful. Our server - Arthur - was very stand-off ish. Not very friendly nor very attentive. However we did notice he was extremely courteous to the surrounding tables . It felt very strange to only see him a couple of times. The food was great though . I think next year we will hit up a different restaurant for a genuinely pleasant experience.

    We visited on Valentine’s Day. We were seated promptly but in close quarters. Not much room between tables. Dinner was special for Valentine’s Day and pretty pricey as you would suspect. Wish we could have had the regular menu. My husband thought his ribeye was excellent. My filet topped with lobster was good but not great. We would probably go back.
