Sidney has the best oysters we have ever eaten. The food is always excellent and the service is so good. We have been going there for years and love it!
We love everything about this restaurant!
Delicious dinner. Lovely service.
We’ve been going there for years and it is still our favorite place in the area. The food, the service, the atmosphere-everything was amazing. I try to tell everyone in the Harrisburg area about it.
Food portions are just the right size. Everything was delicious! Worth the money. Service was excellent.
Excellent service in a relaxing historic atmosphere. Food was beyond our expectations.
Love this place!
Favorite Central PA restaurant. Only negative was despite not being extremely crowded, it was hard to hear our waitress.
Everything was great. Food was delicious. Good portion sizes. Great drinks. Great service. Would definitely return when we are in the area again.
The overall feel and comfort of the restaurant was refreshing and delightful. The service and the interaction with the waitress was pleasant. She was very embracing and nice. Extremely helpful and was consistently checking on how we were and if we needed anything. The food was fantastic with flavor and amount. I had a steak sirloin and my wife had free range chicken. Extremely flavorful and juicy. Both my wife and I had one alcoholic drink, an appetizer, two main course meals and two desserts. Without tip our bill was $150. With tip it was $191 so make sure you bring your wallet. We tipped well above the 20% mark as our waitress was great. I would recommend Sidney Tavern to people but I wouldn't recommend going often as it would break the bank.
Great little restaurant, service is great, the food is incredible. This restaurant is a little bit of heaven in East Berlin Pa.
Good and service was outstanding! We will be back.
Main dining room is pleasant. Optional seating in tavern section and patio (weather permitting). Nice selection of first course and entrees. Desserts excellent as well. In all a pleasant dining experience.
We go here several times each season. The menu is always changing we find that to be wonderful. Never dull dining like many other places in the area. This is a old colonial home restored to beauty with a top notch Chef thats right, not a cook, but a top culinary school Chef. Everything from the drinks to dessert were amazing. Even our youngest girl tossed back the oysters on the half shell looking fir more, haha. We can’t wait for another occasion to come back. The service is spot on. What a wonderful birthday for my step father.
The food was fabulous. Great variety of first courses. The calamari was wonderful. Service was on point. Its a restaurant you cant miss.
Experience was awesome after we moved from the bar area to main dining room.
This was our second visit and was as good as the first. 5 star restaurant!
The food was amazing! Loved it. Highly recommend it. Have been there 3 times now and the food and service have been perfect!
Food was excellent a great place to dine. Service was great.
Our request for special seating needs were immediately and considerately provided. The meal, as always, was excellently presented. The special flavors in the curry char dish and the free range chicken were awesome. The wait staff provided excellent care and attention.
Everything was up to usual Sidney standards. Great service, great food, great ambience.
First experience at this restaurant. Awesome appetizers. Prime rib was cooked properly at medium rare but “chewy”. Desert was great. Will look forward to going back to try another main course. Waitress attentive and helpful. Should have gone with her seafood suggestion.
Fantastic food and great atmosphere. They tried to keep couples and small groups away from the louder parties.
Sydney Tavern is a gift! You simply can't find food like this elsewhere in the Gettysburg area. My husband and I dined at Sydney for our anniversary, so it was a bit of a splurge. Superb food, tremendous wine selection, extremely attentive service, and lovely historic setting. My favorites were the pate and the creme brulee.
Both the service and food were outstanding! Unique flavors. Can’t wait to return and sit outside on patio
All good. We celebrated a birthday
We had a very good dinner experience, service and food were excellent. I will recommend this place to others.
One of the best meals we ever had. Fantastic! Highly recommended.
A hidden gem. Staff and food were wonderful and the attention to detail, from a culinary perspective, was both unexpected and surprisingly thorough. We started with the potato crisps. I wasn't expecting much (I mean they are potatoes chips) but i was surprised at how well they were done. Fried to a golden brown and then the perfect amount of toppings were added to balance the flavors with out any single ingredient over powering another. For entrees, my wife's steak (I believe it was a strip steak but i honestly am not 100% sure) was overcooked (ordered Med rare but arrived med well), the staff was very apologetic and accommodating and she had another very quickly. I ordered rare prime rib and it was superb. The vegetables were perfectly cooked, al dente, and the whipped mashed potatoes were amazing. For dessert we hesitantly ordered the creme brulee. (A lot of places struggle to make this correctly) No problems here. It was wonderful. Overall it was a wonderful experience and we will definitely be back. Thank you for taking the time to do things the right way. Your dedication to your business and its guests is a breath of fresh air in this industry. Keep up the great work.
Food was very good and over all a very nice place to spend a special occasion with someone. A no rush atmosphere made it even better.
Great food and lovely people in a great atmosphere. Always a treat to dine at Sidney.
If you are looking for the step above the rest this is the place! Unique dishes with great flavors.
This is my wife and I's favorite place to eat and celebrate special moments of our life. We have many memories of romantic dinners, laughs and excellent cocktails and wine... But I need to address something we have notice over the the past year or so that the menu has become repetitive and safe. We fell in love with chef's bold and amazing ability to make extraordinary and exciting dishes that both challenged me and made me appreciate food and someone's talent at bringing such different flavors together. Chef makes a truly memorable and delicious meals. We would be so excited to go and see what new dishes he would create. It was almost an obsession lol! Please take this not as a bad review but as encouragement to be BOLD AGAIN because we will be back in hopes that it returns back to the place we fell in love with so many years ago.
Wonderful place to dine.
Would highly recommend.
This is my first time visiting Sidney and I thought that the ambience of the place was wonderful. Our server was attentive but not overly so. The menu seemed very limited and for lack of a better word kind of catering to the masculine patrons. The night that we came there were no chicken dishes no seafood dishes other than monkfish the rest was pretty much red meat. And while my dish that I had, the monkfish, was very well done,I would have preferred several more choices then were made available. Also I was underwhelmed by the choices for drinks on the menu again they all seem to cater to the more masculine patrons, and the drink that I ordered a French martini seemed to be foreign to the waitstaff as if they had never heard of it before. I think I took two sips of it and didn’t drink any more of it. The waitress remarked about how I didn’t drink it, and when I told her it wasn’t a French martini all she could say was well we’ll have to work on that. It would have been nice had they taken the drink off the bill since it wasn’t what I askedAnd I didn’t drink it. Would I return again? Possibly but I don’t think I would make a special trip there
Not as good as our previous experience though that was many years ago. Dinner was good but not exceptional, especially considering the price. My husband’s steak was tough and his pound cake was dry. Flourless chocolate cake was delicious!
We had a lovely visit to Sidney—great service, good drinks, excellent wine list and fantastic food! We will definitely be back for future special occasions.
Everything was great with respect to the service and the food. Unfortunately, I did find it to be very loud. This is not really something the restaurant can control - it’s just disrespectful patrons thinking they were in an Irish pub. I suppose we could have asked a waiter to ask that this table try to be more subdued (I mean really- this is supposedly fine dining so you should be able to converse with others at your table without feeling like you were talking loudly to be heard over another table). But again -we should have probably said something. Overall I would highly recommend this establishment.
The menu is superlative. Every item is gourmet and every bite delicious. The interior decor is unremarkable, but the food makes the trip worthwhile.
