Third time dining at Sidney and I have to say, this was the best meal I have had. The seafood game is on point. Wine list is strong. Craft cocktails are delicious. Definitely check it out.
I had the wild mushroom and escargot ravioli that was one of the best appetizers I've ever had. For my main entree I had the duck with farro, prunes, walnuts and butternut squash puree. OUTSTANDING.
Some new menu items since our last visit (sorry it was so long)... but you can NEVER go wrong with fresh oysters... the trout was caught that morning, and the duck was incredible as always.
Pleasantly surprised and great
The food was excellent, we were delighted to taste new items on the menu. The duck was exquisite, prepared to perfection. My husband had the trout which was outstanding.
So pleasantly surprised to try these new items, we look froward to returning.
We hope to see items on the menu change often.
My son and I had squash soup, pate, oysters on the half, prime rib and the sirloin steak. Absolutely everything was perfect! We will be back in force with friends & family.
I know a number of foodies in Harrisburg who are very interested, and they asked lots of questions. I gave Sidneys a thumbs up 5 stars. Everything here is made in house.
I took my wife there for our 40th ann. and she loved it. I loved it very much also.
The food and service were both great. We enjoyed our dinner at Sidney.
Everything was both beautifully presented and spectacularly delicious!
the food is always wonderful. The ambience is somewhat cold and sterile. The large dining room can be noisy.
This was hands down an all around great experience. The food is absolutely divine! My girlfriend and I couldn't stop talking about how delicious it was. The plating was a work of art itself! Excellent service, excellent service, reasonable prices. Definitely plan on going back again and again
Always a top choice, esp. when guests in town
My daughters were in town and we wanted foie gras ! Dinner was excellent. We sat outside and a branch was encumbering our daughter. After a short while and table maneuvering, the bar tender came over and took his pocket knife and chopped it off! We didn't even ask! Stephanie was a great gal and really tried to please us. She was fantastic. Again, as always, we so enjoyed the dinner and the treats from the chef. Even the martinis were fab and someone actually stuffed the olives with blue cheese, our fav. Thanks for all you do to provide a very special night out.

Always great menu on line
Was not the same as on the menu
Parking is good desert menu superior
Great food and service. Loved the outside patio. Road traffic is a little annoying.
We have dinef at
Sidney many times and always think it is one of the best restaurants in the area. This time was in celebration of my parents 61st anniversary. When we sat down they poured us each a flute of champagne which was so thoughtful and lovely.the food was fantastic the service was exceptional dining there is always a wonderful time and well worth it.
I made reservations to eat in the tavern several weeks in advance of the 20th. When we arrived we were told the tavern was closed for a private party and we were seated in the fireplace room. Would have appreciated a note saying the tavern was closed in advance of our reservation date. We would have rescheduled. Pork was overcooked. Trout and oysters were excellent.
Our dining experience could not have been better. The complimentary glasses of champagne for our anniversary were a value added touch. We are still talking about the quality of our dinners. Stephanie, our server, was very engaging, congenial, and professional. All wait staff dressed extremely well, table linen / napkins pressed and bright, glassware clean and gleaming, etc., etc. We will definitely plan on return visits.
RUDE......This review makes me sad. The son of the owner is the bartender/manager at Sidney. He is absolutely rude...has no idea how to speak to customers and frankly does not care if customers return or not. The restaurant was 80 degrees inside! Everyone was super uncomfortable. The owners son told customers to stop complaining. He said “come in the winter if you don’t like it”.
We have been patronizing for years. We will not go back.
The chef makes delicious soups. Yesterday's soup was made with salsify, which I had never had, and it was interesting to try something new. The service, which is usually spotty, was superb. We can't wait to go back.
My husband and I eat here on our honeymoon. We ate on the patio and greatly enjoyed the outstanding service. The food tasted and looked beautiful, they were good portion sizes, perfectly timed serving, and the wait staff was very helpful. We will definitely eat here again!
Salmon was over cooked and dressing on Caesar salad tasted too much like mayonnaise. Pricey for the quality of food we received. We’ve been here numerous times, so hopefully this was just an “off night”..
Great place..ate outside..great service and food delicious!
Superb steak and peach mousse cake! Great atmosphere.
Food and drinks were phenomenal!! Service was slow considering there were only a few people in entire restaurant. Building is from 1700's and it feels like you are back in colonial days. Will go back soon. Just not on a hot day and air conditioning is ineffective.
My husband ordered the King cut Prime Rib and we were very surprised how small it was and it really resembled a sirloin steak! He was very disappointed and so was I because we were celebrating his birthday! I doubt if we will return.
So glad we tried Sidney’s. Great ambience, service, interesting menu. Everything beautifully presented and delicious. Only downside was the heat...in midst of heatwave and the AC was just not doing it. Would have lingered longer for some after dinner drinks but just too hot. Will be back in cooler times.
It was great a bit warm...and a dead fly under my water glass 😩
The food is always wonderful. The chef makes great pate and soups. The service is usually spotty, with good-natured servers who disappear for long periods. Last night there were 4 tables in the DR, and it was obvious that in the kitchen there was no line. They seemed to serve 1 table at a time, with long waits between courses. We didn't order dessert because we thought it would take an hour. The thing that makes the service bearable is the food, which is definitely worth the drive.
Every course was outstanding. I highly recommend the salmon. Pate was wonderful. Lemon blueberry cake with raspberry sorbet was fabulous.
Nice linen napkin had a black mark on it when I opened it. Asked waiter if they make Moscow Mules - "yes, but we don't have the proper cup for it". Really? Pate was great and the four of us shared it and they brought extra toasts for us! I had trouble selecting an entree so I ordered a Caesar salad - waiter asked if I'd like a piece of meat or fish with it - I ordered the salmon, both salad and salmon very tasty. My husband thought the prime rib and the au jus were "tasteless". Dessert too was disappointing - description sounded wonderful but my husband described it as chocolate pudding with whipped cream on. First bottle of wine was rejected because it wasn't up to par. We chose another which was nice.
Great cocktails and food. Comfortable seating. Service was good but not great. Will be back.
Absolutely superb. they take it to the next level.
We've been going to Sidney for over a decade and this was one of the best visits ever. Complimentary Champagne and after dinner WhistlePig. A great evening!
Excellent service; High quality, fresh, delicious food. Highly recommended.
Very nice from start to finish.
Staff was courteous and food was delicious! The restaurant was pretty slow for a Friday evening which made it quite nice for our anniversary!!
Cream of potato soup beautiful flavor and presentation. Even a fried potato stick w/ garnish. Inquisitive. Tasteful prime rib and salmon. All nicely presented. Wish more than 3 options for wine by glass but not a problem. Always nice that Chef Noel presents a complimentary appetizer and dessert as a culinary gesture. Wonderful
Excellent service, atmosphere, and food. The patio with the fountain was a delight to sit next to. Will definitely come back again.
