Spaghetti House Kensington High Street
This little restaurant is a perfect mix of traditional & modern, small enough to be very intimate but still very atmospheric. You will feel at home sipping a cappuccino or having a drink with friends, if it's a full meal you're after, the menu includes sharing dishes, all the Italian favourites, quality fresh Salmon, juicy steaks, pasta & delectable pizza. As all dishes are freshly cooked to order you can enjoy true home cooked Italian delights, every time.
For a finale enjoy a scrumptious dessert & Illy coffee, some would say one of the best quality coffees in the world!
Early dinner before pre theatre. Warm and friendly service. Wine and food all good.
Would go again.
My partner and I chose this restaurant because we love Italian food and the location was very good for our plans that evening - although a little walking was involved, (about 10-15 minutes), we were keen to keep our underground costs as low as we could! We ate here before going to the Royal Albert Hall and it suited us very well.
The menu was varied and the range of prices fairly wide. We each had our favourite spaghetti Bolognese), dessert and a cold drink, with a hot drink to end the meal and felt the £51.00 bill to be very reasonable for the area. I was particularly impressed that, when the time came to choose our desserts, our waitress remembered that I had asked about dairy free options for the main course, and suggested their sorbet, in order to cater for this. I took her suggestion and was very glad that I did. It was delicious (one scoop of mango with one scoop of raspberry). Shaun had the strawberry gelato sundae-thing, which he really enjoyed.
The atmosphere was cosy, the music appropriate in both type and volume and the staff friendly/helpful. The overall noise level was definitely quieter when we got there because it was early (5:30pm), but, even though they got busier and the sound of conversation/people enjoying themselves increased while we were, even after an hour and a half, it was still comfortable and possible to hear yourself think.
Unhappy with the service. Unfriendly and the staff smelled of tobacco. Will not be visiting again.
Excellent restaurant. Great food and personal service. We will definitely be back!
Service was outstanding, friendly, attentive and engaging. Very Italian. Food was delicious, however the anti pasta portions were tiny for the price. Pasta was perfect. Overall a lovely experience and will go back for sure.
Excellent menu choices. Close to Royal Albert Hall so great for pre concert dining. Fast, friendly service.
Good value food in pleasant surroundings. Excellent service. I would definitely recommend
I always have found the staff at The Spaghetti House very friendly and welcoming. The service is excellent and good value for money. However, my Spaghetti Bolognese was on this occasion ordinary. I will return and perhaps try something else next time!
Good Menu choice , excellent value for the 3 course set menu. My Husband uses a small mobility scooter & the very helpful staff quickly arranged a ramp for him to get into the restaurant easily.
A quiet lunch on a wet Saturday. W shared the calamari starter, which was fine. I had the spaghetti Bolognese which was excellent; a traditional Italian dish served with no fuss but very tasty. My partner has the penne arrabiata which was also very good. £40.00 with a beer and an espresso for me to finish. The service was excellent, but it was not at all busy.
Great service, and great food. Not much more to say.
Good meal and service in pleasant surroundings. Convenient location for Albert Hall.
Reliable pasta and pizza. Oddly they had not received the booking from OpenTable. But it was early and there was no problem
A good restaurant at a sensible price, close to the Albert Hall in Kensington. Really good service and delicious food. Will definitely return.
Absolute gem of a place. Fantastic authentic Italian food served with a smile
Nice restaurant , not to big so felt more personal than a larger chain restaurant. Good service and lovely food , would eat there again if in area .
Went here as a party of 4 for an early dinner before Carols at the Royal Albert Hall. We ordered a bottle of wine and we each had starters, mains and I had dessert. We had coffees too. Good value and cosy, the food was OK except one dish was exceptionally hot (chilli) and inedible which was disappointing. I tasted it (my wife's dish) and food should never be that spicy. I was also waiting a bit longer for my dessert which was cold so there should have been no wait necessary. I would definitely go here again as the other food was very nice and Spaghetti House is authentic and generally reliable.
Always a pleasant atmosphere and friendly service
Basic set menus, but excellent food!
Staff very friendly and you didn’t feel rushed at all.
Toilets are based under the restaurant and you have to negotiate some very narrow stairs to get to them, certainly not suitable for disabled people (didn’t notice if they had a disabled toilet upstairs?)
Excellent service, great food. Lovely staff. Would recommend.
Close to Albert Hall. Nice atmosphere. Good service, nice menu pleasant staff.
This was not our first visit to Spaghetti House Kensington. An ideal place for pre-Albert Hall dining as the service is fast and efficient and it is very close (2 stops by bus and an easy 10-15 minute leisurely
walk) to the Albert Hall. We had pre-booked and I recommend all patrons to do so as it's a busy area and many restaurants cater for museums and events in and around Kensington so that lunchtime and pre-theatre times are at a premium. The toilets are not disabled accessible - there are some stairs. Changes to menus are happily accommodated where possible without any fuss. We'll be back!
We stopped by here for an evening meal before a business meeting as it offered a variety of choices on the menu. The atmosphere was great; plenty of room between tables; and you could move around quite easily. The staff were fantastic, friendly, and very attentive. The food was brought out quickly and was very good.
The service was good, and the staff were friendly and polite. However the food was really average. I ordered the chicken tagliatelle which was meant to come in a creamy sauce, but it was not creamy at all. My wife ordered the penne arabiatta and the pasta was uncooked. When we informed the staff they just asked the chef to cook it more, saying we wanted it "more well done". We still got charged the full amount for it on the bill.
Great service with a smile! Very nice food as expected
We went here for the pre-marathon dinner to make the usual carb load. We had a lot of pasta which was really well cooked as an Italian can expect. Service was fine and really fast as we asked.
Booked this lovely restaurant after reading other reviews, we were not disappointed. We wanted somewhere to eat prior to a concert at the Royal Albert Hall, the staff were very welcoming & friendly, food absolutely delicious, good choices on the menu for food & drink, and reasonably priced considering it’s the West End. It’s approx 10 mins walk from High Street Kensington tube station & 10 mins from the Albert Hall. Perfect
Visited after trip to the royal Albert Hall. A lovely meal and we were well looked after. Great for kids too.
Attending event at Royal Albert Hall and chose restaurant for proximity to venue. Advised staff we had only one hour for dinner and received prompt, friendly service without feeling rushed.
Polite and friendly staff. Prompt service. Quaint and cosy venue
Lovely food and friendly staff. We were the last ones there but never felt like staff were waiting for us to leave..
Exactly as anticipated, and what was on menu. Well cooked and presented. Timing about right.
Great little Italian restaurant close to Royal Albert Hall, very welcoming and attentive without being intrusive. Food was very good, all round great experience.
nothing special, the food was good, no ambiance at all
Very friendly host on arriving. Felt at ease. Great food. Handy for RAH. Will revisit.
We have been visiting Spaghetti House for many years when visiting London, this one for the last couple of years. The staff are always friendly, the food is gorgeous in a pleasant atmosphere, and good value
Can't recommend enought
Way below normal standard. Much confusion amongst staff - maybe new? Disappointing
Love the lasagne
Excellent meal, seasonal special crab linguine was great, excellent service
