Strega North End
Delicious food, great service and a most pleasant experience.
Our team went out for a business dinner and said everything was excellent. Great variety of food!
The food was absolutely delicious and the wait staff was very friendly. The place is very small and can get crowded fast. I wouldn’t want to sit at a table by the door. Other than that, amazing place!
I ordered the "turkey dinner" special. (It was "Thanksgiving", after all... ;) )
It was delicious, but not "amazing". I don't regret ordering it, but the menu's tortelloni are a better choice! THAT entree is AMAZING!!!
I was the only one of my party who ordered the turkey dinner special. Almost everyone else was very happy with their order. (The one who was not is a VERY picky eater who didn't enjoy chicken marsala. So it goes...)
original Strega, cool atmosphere. Great red sauce. Plus James is an excellent waiter
We celebrated our 10th anniversary dinner at Strega! Attentive and energetic staff, outstanding food, and a vibrant atmosphere!
Fantastic food service and atmosphere
The server(s) at Strega were attentive, professional and extremely friendly for our Sunday lunch with friends. More importantly, they listened to my dietary restrictions as I proposed modifications to a couple of my meal choices. The server immediately discussed the requests with the chef who offered what a I thought was a perfect option. Cancer and its related surgery have forever changed how my body digests food. Among items can no longer eat, which are key to many Mediterranean dishes, are garlic, onions and soft cheeses such as ricotta and mascarpone. My meal included a caprese salad (fresh mozzarella is fine for me to eat) and a perfectly grilled and seasoned (salt and pepper) veal chop with sautéed spinach and roasted potatoes. It was all delicious. It was my first time at Strega and most definitely won’t be my last. I highly recommend Strega! Grazie!
The food was absolutely amazing —- highly recommend
Unfortunately Strega did not deliver the experience hoped for my daughter’s birthday. First, we chose Strega as they offer valet parking but that’s where our experience went downhill. One, the valet wasn’t present and my wife had to go in to speak with the hostess who had to go find the valet. Two, the website said the valet cost was $20 but the valet charges us $25. The restaurant is tiny and the small foyer was too crowded to stand inside (on a very cold night). Once inside, we asked to be seated at our empty table but were told no as 2 of our party of six weren’t present. So, we jostled with waiters and other patrons while waiting for my daughter who, ironically, was a few minutes late because she also had to come in to the restaurant to have the hostess find the valet!!
Once seated, the service was slow, it was hard to hear over the noise and our waiter never came back to ask if we needed a drink refill. And, while the apps were good, 2 of the 6 meals were only ok (chicken was dry in the sorrentino).
While we managed to enjoy a birthday outing for my daughter we will not be back to this Strega as the others are much better and more accommodating.
Excellent as usual. We had seafood and it was wonderful
There were four people in our party. It was a dinner celebration for two 60th birthdays. Two of the four enjoyed their meal. The other two thought the meals were just ok.
Sorry was really looking forward to this dinner.
Too crowded, no elbow room, too little space between the tables, rushed service. Good food but overhyped.
Delicious food, fun atmosphere with mob movies and chandeliers, a bit cramped and loud, but makes it a happening. Order burrata and prosciutto for sure, maybe even two! Pasta is on point.
James is an excellent server. Eggplant and meatball appetizers were great as was the special dinner menu items. I'll be back!
Great spot!!! Strega is the North End!!!
Fabulous food & staff!!
We really appreciate fresh & authentic Italian food!
We had a reservation for 5:30 and didn’t get seated until after 6:00. The bar area is small so we couldn’t get seats at the bar. Overall, the food was worth the wait and we definitely go back.
The food was Meh and the service was fine until we were done eating. Waited FOREVER for the check. There are a lot of better restaurants in the area.
Food was fabulous and the service was fantastic. Would go there again in a minute...
Carlo is a very professional waiter and made our experience wonderful, as always.
Amazing dinner, and ambiance, for a night out! Me and my mom went after a show, and the service was amazing. We never felt rushed, which we love! Food was perfect! Valet a plus! I will visit this restaurant frequently
Expensive for what is offered on the menu. Very small inside restaurant and in turn can be quite noisy. Felt like we were being rushed through our meal.
We went to Strega to celebrate our anniversary, had been before and had great food and experience
As are many of the North End restaurants, this is good basic food Italian food. Nothing really special if not a bit generic. Priced a bit high for what you get and you get the general feeling they want you to eat and move on.
Incredible experience. Food and atmosphere were excellent, but it was really the service and attention to detail that made our evening. Can't wait to go back.
Everything was excellent.
great time as always!!!
The food was absolutely amazing! The ambiance and the decor were top notch as well. The staff was very friendly and funny and super personable! I highly recommend to at least experience this place once!
Great meal - great service.
Strega north end has an excellent ambience and food. The environment is kind of small and the prices are high. Excellent choice for date night
Food was great. Service was horrible. Our waiter took our order and never came back until he asked if we wanted dessert. He also had the table next to us and they were offered a specials menu which he never went over with us, never came back to check to see if we wanted anything. I would have ordered a special if knew about it would also have liked some cheese for my pasta. Won’t recommend or return.
Food was amazing service great!
While this has been a traditional favorite of ours in the north end our last visit was disappointing. Our seafood was overcooked - both the calamari appetizer and the seafood risotto had chewy, overcooked seafood. The other pasta meals were good (ravioli and veal) which is what saved the rating.
Service was an issue - our server went from impatient to rude and I’m surprised at the general lack of social skills- waiving us off and walking away when we were telling him we were ready to order... as one example of many.
Competition is too fierce in the North End, with amazing options all around for us to consider going back.
Food and service were mediocre at best. Disappointing.
Food was outstanding wait staff very attentive and I loved the mafia movies all playing at once
The Original Strega does not disappoint!!! Great food and great service. The restaurant itself is a little small but it didn't effect us enjoying our meal!!! I look forward to returning!
We have been coming here for years, actually. We’ve eaten at every Strega on numerous occasions and always had a great tim/experience.
On this occasion, it was an early dinner, so we wouldn’t get caught in traffic. It was a little chilly out, yet the door remained propped open until someone else complained. We sat on the back wall and there were only 2 other tables occupied.
The service was good, but kinda of perfunctory. No real interest or energy. The food was good but not great and it just felt “stale”
On the whole, it just didn’t feel like the Strega I know and love. Nothing really bad, but nothing really good 🙁
We enjoyed another amazing meal at Strega for our teenage daughter's birthday.
The food never disappoints. Fresh, amazing flavor, quality, delicous authentic italian food. Just like my Nonna's.
Our waiter Carlo was wonderful and we felt like family.
Can't wait to come back!
