Behind the wrought iron gate, past the herbaceous patio and through the atrium is Talula's Garden, the warm and elegant Washington Square eatery from Aimee Olexy and Starr Restaurants. The modern menu, prepared with carefully-sourced ingredients and a light European touch, changes with the seasons. The artful cuisine, hospitable staff, sustainable spirits, and a focus on cheese make the dining experience here incredibly memorable.

I loved the ambiance. Service was a little slow, but it was packed. My food was delicious. The only thing that bothered me was - and this is no reflection on you - how people came in to such a lovely restaurant dressed like they were at the pool all day. We were told also that it takes weeks to get a reservation and
people were just walking in and getting seated. But beyond my personal issues, the place is lovely and the food delicious.

Loved the ambiance of the outdoor garden space and the food was delicious. Our server was a bit brusque (likely given they were ending brunch service), but provided overall decent service. I would expect above par service, however, from a place with a reputation like Talula's. Ambiance alone makes the meal worth it. Great for a date.

Had a great dining experience at Talula's Garden, however I wish there was more opportunity to sit outside. If there's some way to request this in advance, I'd love to know how. Additionally, inside, it was a bit dark where they sat us. Still a beautiful meal and great service, just wish we could have experienced it outside on such a beautiful day.

Went here for a brunch date and it was such a great time! Place is decorated nicely and the service was amazing. Everyone was super welcoming and helpful with any questions I had on the menu. Best thing was that we sat inside but still had the outdoor view which was nice. From our beginnings to our brunch entrees, meals were delicious. Good mix of sweet and savory in this experience. Quick note: Valet is available but there is a parking garage about a block and a half away as well. Can't wait to come back next time but this time for dinner. Definitely a place to try out!

We were a group of 6 women (with two reservations) who could not be seated together. The staff first moved three to a table closer to our table, then found banquet seating for all of us.

Our waiter, Eli, was superb.

The meal was delicious and our ability to enjoy each other's company was terrific.

Thanks, again, to the host staff, for putting us together

We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Talulah's Garden. What a lovely restaurant! We started with a cheese board which consisted of 6 of their most popular cheeses. All were delicious. We had the asparagas soup (YUM) and the strawberry goat cheese salad which was also great. The main entrees, seared scallops and the duck were a big hit. The lamb paparadelle was good but a bit salty. We also had 3 desserts - marscapone cheesecake, the fruit crisp, and the skillet chocolate cookie. All were delicious.

Food was ok. Service was terrible, it took over 15 minutes for our server to give us water and take our drink order. Another 10+ minutes to get our food order after our wine was brought out. Same for dessert with the dessert menu. Overall it took almost 2 hours for dinner, when the food came out pretty quickly compared to the service, it seemed like we were waiting forever. Will not return or recommend. We don't worry about how much dinners cost usually but $200+ for my fiancee and I to be unsatisfied with the food and service seemed like a huge waste.

We went to celebrate our wedding anniversary and sat at a lovely table for two in the garden. The tables are very close to each other, which added to the specialness of the occasion as we soon discovered that couples at adjacent tables were also celebrating anniversaries. This led to some delightful conversation. Our server was very knowledgeable and helped us choose a cheese board from among the many selections. Both the chicken and salmon were delicious as was the French Chardonnay my wife had. Oh, and the fried Kennett Square mushrooms were incredible. It was an expensive but memorable day. Good food, good service, good wine, and good conversation. I’d highly recommend coming here, especially for a special occasion.

I will always love this place! The food is amazing and I can never finish it all (probably b/c I get excited and order too much). The menu is creative, the drinks are good, and the restaurant is beautiful. You cannot reserve the garden area, it’s first come first serve, so only if you have an early dinner reservation is it possible to sit outside. My only complaint from my most recent visit is that, they were very busy, and even though we arrived on time for our 7:30 reservation, we had to stand and wait next to hostess station to be seated for 20 minutes. We were not the only ones that had to do so and it was a little crowded. I think I’m the future we will make earlier reservations to avoid the busy time

Dining outside, great drinks, marvelous food, lovely service. Our server was as sweet as could be, attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and unobtrusive. The bonus was, no rain! The staff made sure we were not rushed and able to make it to the theater on time. All great.

Talula's Garden is simply one of the best restaurants in Philadelphia. If you are lucky enough to go on a warm summer evening, you can sit outside but even if you are inside, it's a fantastic experience. The food is inventive without being too clever. Everything is flavorful, delicious and seasonal.

If you are a Philly foodie, Talula's is a must.

Food was amazing! Only con was the prices. Went here before seeing a Broadway show and the service was great and we made it out in plenty of time. We both got the chicken entree and the mustard and salsa sauces were amazing with the chicken. The potatoes are basically French fries and then it came with asparagus. They brought us out complementary rolls from the kitchen that had a donut type consistency with tomato oil and butter on top and they tasted like pizza. Dessert was also amazing. The carrot cake with the ginger ice cream and the donuts were out of this world! If you don't mind splurging a bit on a great dinner and a pretty garden ambiance, I would highly recommend !
