Terroirs is split between two levels. The street-level restaurant has some outdoor seating and a large bar that can seat up to 14 people, with a great view of the open kitchen.
The Cellar downstairs has very high ceilings and original brick walls, with an additional kitchen and bar area which hosts our regular wine tastings, visiting winemaker dinners, magnum parties and cellar cinema screenings.
This unique space is also available for private hire.
My friend and I enjoyed this pre-theatre visit. We had a carafe of the rose which was OK, but I'm not a huge natural wine fan. I didn't realise Terroirs had gone this way. Food was good but cheese could have done with chutney or fruit. Service was very average. It's still a great place but I've had a better experience there.
Always have interesting and tasty food. Good wine selection.
Lovely restaurant with good food and wine. Service was a little slow.
Terrors remains one of London’s best wine bars by dint of carefully selected wines from many countries and well prepared small plates. Highly recommended.
Good table, dxcellent Kir Royal, delicious lamb and beef main courses
Interesting food and wine, attentive staff and a generally quietly convivial atmosphere.
And so good to get the right size of wine glass
Great authentic french food and wine. Love the small sharing plates, makes it ideal for 2 or 4 friends to go and drink wine and have the right amount of food to go with it.
Table was ready, service prompt but unobtrusive delicious nosh would go again and highly recommend
NB WR WERE early it was a pre-theatre dinner
I’ve been coming here for years. I love it. Simple food, relaxed atmosphere, good wine
I've been coming here for several years now. Nice to find somewhere in central London that feels "real" - not following the latest fad, just good food and wine and friendly staff. The jokey posters make me smile.
Perfect location and perfect menu for a pre-theatre meal
Super lunch - just what was needed! A delight to find this corner of France just off Trafalgar Square!
Simply put, our best meal in London so far. The lamb with eggplant was perfectly prepared and the wine selection is curated to offer the best varietals at a range of prices.
Really nice place but the balances seem not quite right: an incredible wine list of biodynamic and organic wines - and fair enough that some of those should be priced high or very high. But the food - although nicely done - is really very simple and yet priced really high, too.
We came out of a perfectly plain supper between two old friends having paid more-or-less £150:00 for a good bottle of wine and some nibbles. The food was good, certainly, and we had a very nice evening. Lovely service, liked the wine, all that. But the food is too plain to justify the bomb it costs .
I love Terroirs. Friendly, efficient (we generally dine there before the theatre so slow service would be a problem), imaginative food and interesting wines. Great atmosphere. Highly recommended.
It was excellent in both the level of service and the level of food.
The place was packed so booking is essential.
Recommend an early dining time as the food plates can run out quickly on a Saturday.
Food was delicious, couldn’t fault a single dish in terms of quality. Only gripe was that the lunch special, mussels, was more of a large starter portion. Definitely not enough for a main. Tasted fantastic though and the wine was also lovely.
Always a lovely experience
Excellent wine list and good food. Great spot for a long conversation with old friends. However, it's always very expensive, which is annoying and means I fear recommending it to people unless they're really into funky wines.
Excellent and very interesting food. Great wine and service
The food was fantastic as always. Enjoyed my night out.
We love Terroirs for a date night and post theatre dinner. The quality of the food and changing seasonal menu is well thought out and executed. The choice of wine and advice on the wine list is always appreciated. Service is friendly and efficient.
Authentic French bistro vibe and ambience. Thanks for many wonderful meals!
Qualifies both as restaurant and wine bar (rarer than you might think) with a good range of wines and very wine-friendly menu. Staff varied from a little inept and completely lacking in knowledge to rather off-hand, unengaging, almost dismissive - a major fault when you have no idea who you're serving, or answering a wine question to.
But, I'd go back!
Lovely atmosphere and a very nicely decorated space. Wine was reasonably priced for an establishment so central and the food was gorgeous (we had a charcuterie board and the cheese was fantastic!).
Will definitely return and tell friends!
Although a little noises, we had a wonderful Pre-theatre dinner this week and would happily go back again.
I’m so glad that we finally booked to dine at Terroirs - incredible food and fantastic wine. Every dish was delicious and the overall menu for that day really well thought out. The service was efficient if not particularly warm but it was a busy Saturday evening and the place was packed so we didn’t mind so much given the quality of the food and drink. Can’t wait to go back.
Great wine and amazing food but service was quite slow and a tad rude which was unexpected as I have been here before and it was amazing
Great wines and absolutely fantastic food for reasonable prices. Impressive selection of natural wines. Friendly staff, intimate atmosphere. Unfortunately no gluten free bread was available, which is sad when there is a cheese board and charcuteries. Overall great!
All was great.
Lovely place and great everything! Really nice food, wine, service and good value for money
Great service and experience! Wines very much out of our budget so only had a small few to choose from but they were very nice! This is my third visit and always enjoy it! Would happily return...finances permitting!
Always delicious food and wine cooked perfectly. Service is always friendly and swift.
The atmosphere is "bustling". Not quiet but cosy and fun.
Very good service and food but quite expensive. I would certainly go again.
The food and wine is excellent and well priced with the option to spend more if you wish - plus the ambience is buzzing - what else do you want?!
Good food, service great vibe.
I thought the food portion sizes were small and erring on the mean side. I was really disappointed because I hadn't seen friends in three years and we just wanted the food and wine to flow but somehow it didn't. I had the bitter leaves with gorgonzola dressing which was tasteless, followed by the melted cheese round to share accompanied by a few slices of ham, a few gherkins and boiled potatoes. We had to ask for some bread to bulk it out. Cost incl. bottle of white wine and 6 iddy biddy glasses of red (we should have bought a bottle I know!) £70 per head. Extortionate. To add insult we were asked to vacate the table after a couple of hours.
A great place to have lunch... the food could do with improvement but then I guess it would be more expensive. The wine menu is really good but there were a lot of unfamiliar wines to choose from, and our waitress seemed unable to help! As a consequence we made a mistake and none of us enjoyed the second bottle.
I have to say our last experience at Terroirs, maybe 6 months ago was brilliant and I would have given it a much higher scoring than this time. And actually this time I have given it a higher scoring than it deserved, because the last time was so good!
Great food, relaxed service. Can get very noisy but all adds to the ambience. Wine isn’t cheap but it is good! Thank you again Terroirs.
