Tucked away on Lillieshall Road, this red brick pub has an airy conservatory for the summer, wood fires for the winter, a Quiz Night on Wednesdays for the cerebral and a dart board at all times for the dextrous!
The food at the Bobbin is delicious.
Enjoyed the food especially Sunday roast! Nice wine selection and every time an enjoyable experience!
Overall service was great. They were able to accommodate a last minute increase in the size of my booking and were polite about needing the table back by a certain time. We were there for the Sunday roast. Two of us had the beef and one pork. Food was overall of a good standard and portion size. Personally I like my beef a bit rarer but it was still tender and tasty. Not sure if the roast potatoes were par boiled first but not as crispy on the outside and soft in the middle as I like. Other vegetables were cooked well. Unfortunately we all found the gravy watery and lacking in depth.
Cosy place with good food and drinks. Service was reliable and efficient.
Excellent, thoroughly enjoyed our Sunday night roast!
Good food and service.
It would be nice to see a vegetarian roast, my husband had the roast chicken and thought it was great.
Starters and roast beef were good, but roast chicken was quite dry and so not finished.
A lacklustre lunch unfortunately. I’m so sorry, I hate not giving positive reviews. The food was ok. My burger was a little dry but not dreadful. My children’s sausage and mash was disappointing- the Italian sausage was dry and not all the appealing, some peas or other vegetables would have been welcome. It was all ok, just not amazing. Sadly the service wasn’t ok. The waiter was distracted and pretty rude in his inattention... for example, he didn’t look at us or write anything down when we’re ordering, so I wasn’t even certain he was listening (he asked me what I wanted twice), then he carried on his joking conversation with his friend as he put down our plates. I felt like we were getting in the way of his social life! The automatic service charge rankled.
I've eaten here many times. Their Sunday roast is up there with the best. I would make a journey to eat here, if I didn't already live around the corner!
Food was excellent but the service was fairly slow (sat for about 20 minutes before taking our drink order). Otherwise a very lovely evening’
Great lunch with friends to watch the rugby.
Fish stew was dreadful!
No vegan options and poor attitude to our vegan guest.
A high quality and delicious roast . Would recommend
Amazing grastro pub for Sunday Roast. One of the best in Clapham
Lovely pub in Clapham Old Town - the menu is varied and the food is fantastic. The house wine is well priced and of great quality...excellent beers also. Booking recommended as this is a neighbourhood pub.
Food was good - although starter was slightly over cooked and pudding was slightly disappointing. Staff were friendly but it was slow due to Pub Quiz being on
The food is always amazing here!! Best calamari I have ever had.
All around great experience!
Booked online with OpenTable. Very easy. Both went for roast beef...delicious. Meat was top quality, service was quick. A little pricey maybe. Highly recommended.
Based on Sunday I would say no - the food took a long time and one of the items we ordered was no longer available but they told us this 30 mins after we ordered to we then had to wait for a long time for starters.
Table was in the bar and the staff forgot about us quite a lot and we had to go up to the bar and ask them to take orders etc.
Greatest pub in London. Alex is a super manager and the food is always delicious.
Food was very good and the pub is in a nice location. It was a little quiet when we first arrived but started to fill up. Would definitely go back as there were quite a few things we wanted to try on the menu.
Really good food and came to the table promptly. The atmosphere was also great. A few times I was a bit upset with the rudeness of the staff, but it didn’t really phase me. I had to order drinks at the bar because they didn’t take it with our food order, then when asked to split the bill and the end was treated very poorly. However, I love the pub and the food so I won’t let a few bad apples spoil a great meal!
Slow service but delicious food. I chose the halibut for my main which was fantastic. We also sat at a lovely table, excellent ambiance.
Went there for the first time for a Sunday roast. Probably one of the best roasts I’ve ever had and it came out less than 5mins after ordering. It also looks really nice and cosy with the Christmas lights up inside. Definitely would recommend.
I would recommend for the lovely food, our party had a roast which looked and tasted amazing, a risotto which tasted fabulous and pasta, again delicious.
We hadn’t realised but we had booked close to he kitchen closing for a break. Unfortunately we were told we had to hurry to make our order, so chose food before drinks. The waiter didn’t return for our drinks order, so everything become disjointed. Then when we required more drinks, we tried to attract the waiters attention and were presented with the bill! We did finally get more drinks but the whole occasion could have been so much better if staff had been more attentive.
service was slow but friendly, food was generous. waiter messed up and overcharged me £10 at the end which isn't great
Delicious roast! Pricy but well worth it. Pub itself is cosy - would definitely recommend.
Visited for a meal for boyfriend’s birthday. The Sunday roasts are delicious, I had chicken. The others had pork and beef, and were equally pleased. Lovely vibe.
Its was " OK" not what I'd expected from the photos and for the price charged for a roast dinner! The roast pitaties tasted like they had been cooked the day before and reheated, hard and dry. The chicken was also very dry and there was no yorkshire pudding, the main staple of a roast dinner..All round disappointing but the service was marvellous .
Have eaten here twice before and had excellent food and service. Unfortunately, the quality of the food was very poor during this visit. 6 people in our party and we all had an issues with the food. Chips were over cooked and burnt, potatoes on another dish were undercooked, burger was tough and the salami antipasto was probably the worst salami we have ever tasted. We did not complain on the evening because it would have meant returning all the food. Cost for 6 people was very expensive for what is pub food. Will not be returning.
Absolutely delicious roast dinner. Really enjoyed it and great value too.
Excellent food and service.
Noise levels so loud very difficult to hear conversations. The front eating area would really benefit from noise dampener.
This is my local, and I hate having to write something negative, but the service was awful. My chicken was very over cooked, and my vegetables dry. Really sad to see my favourite pub go downhill.
Great atmosphere, fabulous menu, super staff who go above and beyond.
The Bobbin is one of my favorite pubs but on this occasion it took well over an hour for our food to arrive, which was disappointing considering I'd brought a group of friends along and said how good it was before hand.
One of my all time favourite places! Amazing food and service plus the added bonus of a number of lovely dog visitors. A gem of a pub!
(just wish there were a few more veggie options on the mains though xx)
Nice pub, but roast was poor. I had the pork and only got 2 potatos, no yorkshire pudding and barely any gravy. Disappointing and not worth the £17!!
Majority of the waiters were very pleasant and helpful, but one blonde lady was really rude and took our plates away before even asking if we were finished.
Visited London and found this online. Hidden away but well worth the short walk. Great food, good value and good atmosphere. Well varied menu something for everyone. Definitely recommend you want be disappointed and it was nice to see dog friendly .
Read about the Bobbin being in Top 10 rated restaurants for Sunday Lunch - and so thought it would be a good option when looking for dinner one evening. I found it overpriced for very average food.
