What Insiders Are Saying
The Clocktower in the Edition Hotel is a Flatiron facsimile of a popular restaurant in London. And it works here just as well as it works over there.
Lovely and interesting atmosphere with multiple rooms, elegant decor, outstanding photography covers every inch of wall space. Brunch was lovely; not too pricey. I suspect lunch and dinner might break the bank.
Annoyed that I got an avocado toast (vegan here) and they charged me full rice with 2 boiled eggs. Money isn’t the issue is the fact that they charge u something they couldn’t even replace me with other vegetable or fruit
Avocado toast was good, is a acquaint place. Service took to long to make the order.... that said, the oatmeal and avocado toast where good. Good place, come with patience. Heard is a dinner place, check it outX as for breakfast is good but not a most
Food was excellent, sommelier was great, but service was a little bit intrusive and rushed to clean the table even before finishing our meals. Great location and ambiance. Definitely will go back
I took my sister ( and niece) for birthday lunch and it could not have been nicer. Service and setting are wonderful. And food was also very good. They also brought out a special dessert with a candle for my sister’s birthday which was a very nice touch. Also not noisy at lunchtime.
If you want amazing service, great ambiance and interesting new food to experience, go here!
1. The bread is out of the world. The bread chef has put his heart and soul to create gorgeous-looking and tasty gem. I am not a big bread eater at a restaurant, but could not stop chowing down this thing!
The savory Maine Scallop appetizer has layers of textures and and tastes into it. It is another must-try.
2. Service Leaves a lot to be desired!! It was not a busy place with only 4 patrons in that dinning room during the entire lunch time. Nevertheless, I was sitting there for a while without being served with bread. I requested it after my appetizer had been served. No apology was ever made, whatsoever . I assume I, as an Asian, am not welcomed. The restaurant needs to offer race- sensitivity education to the employees.
Fantastic atmosphere, service and and food. I highly recommend this place!
The Clocktower is an outstanding restaurant. I will happily go back. So let me get right to the few small comments I have: The restaurant is EXPENSIVE--and because it is expensive the tables need table cloths. The Clocktower should stop worrying about being cook and hip and have the tables provide the elegance that goes with the wimpy outstanding food. Table cloths would help with the echo in the dining room. It is not too loud just too reverberant. The prices are high and so that leads to my next comment: the portions are on the small side. I had Skate Wing, but I portion was only one wing, not the usual full two wings. At $39 this is not good. The wine list is very very expensive, moderate prices are there but not many. The Sommelier is outstanding and really knows his stuff. The service is efficient and the staff are all very sharp and charming. The dining room is dark wood, some flowers would help. I look forward to returning.
A superb restaurant for special occasions.
We went for dinner and ordered about 8 things and then split them all. Everything was wonderful. This place is a true gem
1st time ...awesome experience! I will definitely go back and highly recommend it.
Love this place! Even if the food wasn’t great, I would come for the atmosphere and to enjoy the photography collection. And the purple billiards table. But the food IS great. Look forward to returning soon.
The food quality, presentation and choices were excellent. We chose the 3-course lunch and there are no limitations on what you can order. All was delicious. Could not have been more satisfied, particularly given that I had not heard of the restaurant before someone recommended it to my group.
Always great... Keep going back. Innovative food, but gets the most out of it...
Always exceptional! Great business and ladies who lunch...
Terrific spot for w client dinner. Service was outstanding - sets a high bar. Just a little too expensive but my clients were happy.
Perfect Mother’s Day brunch!
Great ambiance, great food, great service, the only downside option is the wine list, in a place like this they should have more varieties of international wines and not 85% French wine!!!
I always enjoy this place, the ambience is cozy and good food
Food was amazing and service was impeccable. Pricy but worth it. I was pleasantly surprised.
The food was outstanding. The Mac & cheese with ox cheek was delightful. My Dry Aged New York Strip was very tasty. This was my second time in a month and I have to say the service level was outstanding.
I will be back again and again!
I've been three times, but this last one was a late lunch. Service seemed a little confused. They were moving tables around while we ate. It just didn't have a great vibe. Plus my medium rare burger came well done. Just an off day, I suppose. My friend's fish and chips was excellent, however. Our server was very nice.
Dinner on Sunday for lunch. But there was only brunch options available, which meant beef or breakfast foods. Not so great. The service was weak even though it wasn't very packed we had to keep asking for our waiter. For the price we paid, not worth it. Sad because we usually love their dinner options and service!
Food was fantastic! Loved the atmosphere...nice/upscale without feeling stuffy.
There were quite a bit of flies today in the restaurant
Very attentive, knowledgeable and helpful staff. Cozy, warm and interesting restaurant in the former MET Insurance building. A lovely experience.
We went for the afternoon tea and had a great experience. They give you soo much food and almost everything was tasty. The dining room is gorgeous and the staff were very kind and attentive.
Sunday Brunch at the Clocktower: great food, attentive service and nice atmosphere. Not complaints but the size of the burrata, it’s ridiculously small, even for fine dining standards, I suggest you to take a look at it. The wine list is pretty solid and the staff is courteous and professional. We left happy and we’ll probably be back.
This is one of the finest restaurants in all of NYC.
Easter family brunch
Excellent food and service wonderful decor. The only complaint is that it the noise level was greater than we expected. But we would return.
Our steak was cold and they still made us pay for it
The ambiance and service was great. The food was not. Overpriced and under sized. We ordered the dry aged burger and the skirt steak. The burger is better characterized as a slider and I just did not get any of the funkiness one would expect. The skirt steak...well we've had better skirt off our grill at home. I will say that the fries and the mashed potatoes were amazing. Though, if you melt 4 sticks of butter into anything itll taste great.
They serve a complimentary sourdough loaf which honestly might have been the tastiest thing we ate.
we were very well looked after and the food was amazing
Amazing food and drinks and wait staff was super friendly!
Service was inconsistent and a bit disappointing. Food was otherwise OK. Ambiance was great.
It's always fantastic! Great service, the food is always very good and it's a great space!
Staff were cold, tried to take plates before we’d finished. Wine was average yet marked up by 5 times shop price. Food was average, cauliflower starter lacked inspiration and the tenderloin main was, if I’d did not know better, perhaps frozen then thawed. Basically it was tough and stringy, dry. Bill was nearly $700 so feel my comments are valid. Won’t eat her again. On the upside, ambiance of setting is very nice. All show and no go...
Great room with iconic photos, fireplace, excellent service!
