Excellent French tasting
Friendly attentive and knowledgeable staff, excellent food as always (including a special accommodation for one guest), and the best bartender hands down. You won’t be disappointed.
Went Father's Day for an early brunch. Greeted well, wait staff great, Mimosa and Irish coffee perfect along with great wine selections. The star menu item is where the chef falls short ! The Eggs Benedict with lobster consisted of rubbery lobster along with VERY runny poached egg whites ( yolk was fine ) Very disappointing experience for a restaurant with so many written kudo's. I would be hard pressed to spend what the price entree's they have and rather go to DelMonicos or The Russian Tea Room or Butter in New York City
We went to the Frog and the Peach after 20+ years. The last time we were there, my husband complained about not enough food and wanted to stop on the way home because he was so hungry. This time, it was enough. Still not huge portions, but a good size meal. The service was fantastic and the food was really good.
Great food and amazing service.
Food, excellent. Service, wonderful. Overall one of our favorites.
It was 90 degrees, so we opted to eat inside. Indoors is at the moment a very tight space, too close to the kitchen and bar. Until covid is over, you may want to wait for a cooler day and eat outside. The "gazpacho" was essentially yogurt and cucumber soup, no tomato, no taste. The duck sandwich was awful, some spicy notes (Siraccha?) trying to compensate for the poor quality of the meat. There are so many wonderful restaurants in New Brunswick, and I am sorry that the Frog and the Peach is no longer one of them.
We decided to have lunch to celebrate an anniversary. So happy we did. While there were plenty of other people there, we didn't feel jammed in or rushed. Bartender made very good cocktails although why they do not have Southern Comfort is puzzling. Lunch was perfect. Hanger Steak and Scallops. We shared appetizers and dessert. We have lived in the area for over 45 years and this was our first visit. Certainly not the last.
Food was unusual and good.
We were late due to an accident, but they were very accommodating for us and pushed our time back. Our server was super helpful with choosing a red wine and it our wine was superb! The bread was absolutely delicious with herb butter...so good. My husband started with the burrata appetizer then had the wagyu steak and loved both! I had the crab salad appetizer then tne tilefish, both were good! We opted for no dessert then were surprised with complimentary champagne and mini cupcakes for our anniversary celebration. All in all, a wonderful time!
Excellent anniversary brunch experience!
Disappointing meal. Good service. Prices do not reflect quality of the food.
It’s been up and down over the years, but in an “up” way now.
We went for a family member’s birthday and we were treated so very well. Our drinks and food were so delicious and the service was top notch. Haven’t been in awhile and we were so excited to get to go. Can’t wait to go back.
I have been going to the Frog and Peach for almost 33 years. I have always enjoyed how it has changed and stayed the same. The menu is ever changing and the food is always fantastic. Great menu options were the gnocchi as an app and scallops for dinner. Desserts are to die for.
Lovely, elegant, understated. Delicious, mostly local food, prepared simply and to perfection. Wonderful service. Refreshing seasonal cocktails.
We love going there! Our friends were sharing 2 brunch meals. One wanted her egg hard and the other wanted his poached. They had no problem accommodating them!!!
absolutely spectacular. staff food best in nj
Ordered a chicken dish and didn’t realize it had bacon on it. Waiter took back and said I’ll get you a new one. I do not eat pork. He comes back with the same one and food is all in disarray. They picked out the bacon! Who does that? I. Could’ve done that, except the chicken tasted like bacon. I complained and by that time my husband was done with his dinner. Never again! I was shocked!
Very nice gourmet restaurant set in a newish up market residential area in downtown New Brunswick. Great outdoor eating area has been created, post Covid I would guess. Service terrific. One small hitch was a delay in the delivery of our dessert - manager comped us for that.
Great food, nice ambiance. Inexperienced server who did have the technical skills to be a good server but none of the personality to make it special or memorable, only thing I missed.
Special occasion dinner with my mentor and colleague, extraordinary meal for special occasion, Donny is the best, the food was perfect, always enjoy my visits there. And always like to celebrate at the F&P.
An excellent setting and outstanding service fir a wonderful evening dinner. H&M’s P you did it! Thank you!
The food, as always was amazing. The chefs do such a great job of bringing inventive and perfect dishes to patrons. Unfortunately the service really let them down this time. We were seated and it took 20 mins for the waiter to take our drink order. Another 20 minutes until said drinks arrived. A different waiter came to rattle off specials. A different waiter brought our food out and plopped it on the table without explaining what appetiser was what. They then proceeded to take our appetiser plates away before appetisers were served. It was all just was too amateur for such a classy establishment. And then bringing the cheque our without a pen and just disappearing. I had to get up and hunt down a pen myself after not finding a waiter. Just need to finesse service because the food is amazing
The scallops were a wonderful creation that reminds one of sushi but since it’s cooked everyone can enjoy it.
Had my girlfriends birthday and the tasting from France and the amazing bottle we got to accompany it were both out of this world. The server was super well informed and made sure we were always taken care of. Absolutely love this place.
The service was absolutely outstanding! The waiter was so knowledgeable about the menu and a pleasure to talk to. The food was amazing!
Great food! Great experience! Frog and the Peach is our favorite restaurant!
We went for Sunday brunch. For appetizers, we got the biscuits and gravy, burrata, smoked salmon, and bacon. The appetizers are smaller than expected and not shareable between a group of 4. They were good. However, we probably wouldn't order the appetizers again due to their size for the cost.
For entrees, we got the short rib, the chicken and waffles, eggs benedict, and the grilled cheese. The star was the short rib and the grilled cheese. We would get that again. However, the chicken and waffles and eggs benedict were just mediocre.
Overall the meal was good. Some sections are must to have, but others were ok. The service was excellent! Our server was attentive and friendly. The decor was super cute.
I felt service staff was overwhelmed due to full capacity of the restaurant.
Food was excellent. Wait staff was friendly and attentive. Definitely a good venue to celebrate an occasion.
The staff and service was great however was not pleased with the food. Helped us with parking ,seated us right away and was a nice table. Tried the tasting menu, my husband would not eat a thing. So we ordered from the menu got chicken it was just plain chicken breast nothing great. Been to better restaurants with wonderful tasting menus in the past. I will not return because I did not enjoy my meal.
Wild weather made the canopied section a bit chilly, so we moved into the bar. Delicious as always.
I took the advice of an Open Table user, and called ahead about vegan/ vegetarian options. Wow!! Chef Bruce returned my call and told me about how they can make their meals vegan!! What a fabulous dinner we all had! My delicious grains had the most beautiful vegetables sauté to perfection in and on it. The presentation of my entree was in a gorgeous artisan bowl, like a work of art!! And I can not say enough about the staff!! My drinks was amazing fruits and in house, handmade syrups!! Our waiters were knowledgeable and friendly, even taking the initiative for our friends, who had their engagement, there at The Frog and the Peach!! (We had reminisced with the waiter) The staff did something special for them!!! What an amazing night, wonderful dining experience!! Can’t wait to return!!
As always the food was excellent. Chef Joe was in his game with the French tasting menu. Donnie’s wine pairings were the perfect complement to the food. And the wait staff was excellent
HIGHLY RECOMMENDED IF YOU LIKE SOPHISTICATED FOOD
Lovely meal. Service was pretty slow.
The eggs benedict were very good The French toast was like over sweetened cake. Even my daughter who loves cake couldn’t eat it. The chicken and waffles were drowning in syrup with candied cherries. Our drinks never came and I had to get up and literally get salt for the table. Our waiter was clearly over burdened and looked it. We tried to get him to smile. For the food and certainly the cost A diner would have been a better choice. We have had great dinners and functions here in the past but something is clearly wrong. Hope they can correct it
My husband and I made reservations for the French Cuisine “Experience”. My only complaint was my first impression with the host who explained that my 8pm outdoor reservation was only a request and he couldn’t tell me when we’d actually be seated outside. I asked for an estimate, 10 minutes? 45? He hastily replied “I really don’t know, I honestly can’t tell you. Might be 20, maybe 45, I don’t know”. After several years as a hostess myself, I know this is literally his job to estimate wait times.
I’m not one to argue but this was irritating! My husband politely ushered me to the bar and our night made a turn for the better.
The bartender was polite, the drinks were perfectly balanced. The owner and chef was even behind the bar helping out and chatting with us.
Thankfully, we only waited for maybe 10 minutes until our outdoor table was ready. Our server was very knowledgeable of the wine selection and the foods paired beautifully!
Definitely a pricey dinner, but it was great for a nice date and special occasion. Despite the rude and frazzled host, we’ll return :)
The food was delicious and the ambience was tropical. It was a great escape for the night.
