   I had the misfortune of visiting the Lowry hotel for afternoon tea on Mother's Day and was left hugely disappointed. The service I experienced was incredibly poor, and unfortunately tarnished what should have been a lovely experience. The sandwiches were left uncovered and appeared dry, which was a real shame. Not only that, but the waiters also got our tea order wrong and showed no sign of apologizing for their mistake. As a result, we had to wait an unnecessary 40 minutes for our tea, which was a disappointing start to the experience. To make matters worse, we then waited over an hour for water to be served to our table, which was wholly unacceptable. Overall, I found the service to be extremely poor and didn't feel valued as a customer at all. It's a real shame as the Lowry is a lovely hotel, but unfortunately, this experience has left a bad taste in my mouth. I hope that they take on board this feedback and make the necessary changes to ensure that their customers receive the high-quality service they deserve.

   My mum and younger brother absolutely loved it. Food selection could be better but overall we really enjoyed it. I have to say the service was outstanding, all staff were very attentive.

   You definitely knew you were in a hotel restaurant and it was quite cold which ruined the atmosphere; however the food was delicious and the staff were friendly and helpful so I would go back again.

   My wife and I enjoyed our meal with exceptional service provided. The staff were very accommodating and made us feel welcome. I would recommend family and friends to try this fabulous restaurant out. Brilliant!

    Good food & service for a special occasion. However it was spoiled by: 1) Being greeted and asked if I had a ‘Voucher’ booking. (They had no record of the OpenTable reservation). 2) Being surrounded by local business people, using the restaurant to conduct meetings. Come-on Lowry, please treat guests with more respect and have separate dining areas for business and fine dining, so it doesn’t cheapen the experience.

    The whole experience was wonderful the bar staff very attentive and friendly the restaurant was beautiful all the staff were helpful attentive but not over the top which is what we wanted lovely music playing in the bar gave the perfect anbeience to the hotel and restaurant

    Good food. Booked on open table and had a confirmation email. But when we arrived they didn’t have our booking and the blond lady at the entrance seemed very rude. She said there is a 3 week wait for a table and that they were expecting 250 diners that afternoon. I didn’t need to know that. They did eventually seat us but I would have expected a more polite manner and an apology. The food was good but the lady put us off - Snotty and pretentious.

    Was not impressed with the food. It was bland, had no taste at all. The atmosphere was okay however it was slightly boring, waited quite some time for the bland food to arrive. Staff were polite and friendly. Overall, we were not satisfied with the food, quite disappointing.

    On arrival at the restaurant, the lady could not find my booking via Opentable and the restaurant was already fully booked. I had to show my booking to the lady in reception. I then got shown to my table. This has happened a few times whereby I have booked with Opentable and it doesn't show on the restaurant's system. Despite this I had a great Sunday lunch and the staff was so friendly and helpful

    All looks but lacking substance. Really nice looking venue where the food looks like art and tastes like.....food....mostly My Partner and I visited fairly late on a Friday evening. It wasn't a special occasion so we agreed we would order from the 3 courses for £25 menu with a couple of sides and drinks as to not break the bank......or so I thought. The food was adequete in flavour, service was on the slower side. The presentation if all 3 courses was lovely however for me flavour comes first and my imediately recalled memory is that my duck skin was soggy and not crispy and the banana sorbet's deserts individual flavours were terrible when not combined, and the drinks were overpriced. This is not to say the food was all bad, the side of chips were nice, and the ducks meat was tender and the chef was great with cellariac but when a venue advertises as fine dining my expectations are to be wowed.... i wasn't. As a lover of culinary delights I will take a satisfying flavour over quantity, but I will settle for quantity if the food is average. In this instance I was left a little dissapointed on both counts. Then the bill came and with the overpriced drinks which aren't on the menu (£5 for a small bottle of Peroni) it filled me with a deep sadness that I wasted a rare Friday without the kids on overpriced little better than average food, when I can spend the same money at plenty of independant restaurants closer to home and leave feeling joyous and full. This for me is a 100% a 1 night stand evening as it essentially showed all of the same characteristics, lovely looking, at first glance, well presented, an all in all ok experience but finished with dissapointment and guilt however I was in the car so I didn't have to do the walk of shame home.

    Took ages for drinks to arrive. Wanted to take food order before drinks had arrived at table. Stale bread at a premium price. Too many staff on floor of restaurant all getting in each other’s way when trying to deliver food. Two or three waiters delivering and clearing tables Of food from small tables. Staff not attentive in refilling empty wine glasses. Overall a very underwhelming experience considering the high prices and prestigious location

    Lovely Sunday lunch at the restaurant. 3 courses for £22.50 - good value for lunch in a five star hotel. Been here for lunch a few times now and the service is impeccable as always. Will cone again

    Lovely Sunday lunch in the River Restaurant - gorgeous food and not at all pricey as I would have expected in the restaurant. The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially Skarlet, who was so obliging. Will defintiely come again.

    I enjoyed every course however, my girlfriend didn't like any of the food. The chef sent us a complimentary duck canape which again only I enjoyed. The waiter gave me a complimentary glass of wine. It's a nice hotel but lacking in atmosphere

    Delicious food beautifully presented and served, in a delightful setting. Always enjoy dining at the River restaurant, the menu is varied and I love the potted shrimps. The staff are professional but friendly and know their business.

    We went for Sunday lunch for my husband's birthday. The whole meal from start to finish was perfect. The meal was finished off by us having our drinks outside in the Manchester sunshine. Manchester at its best.

    Service was magnicifent. Great, without being stuffy - after asking the M'aitre D about the mashed potato on the fish pie, which was really good, he asked the chef, now I have a great mashed potato recipe! Food was great, too. Definitely will return! A thoroughly enjoyable evening from G&T in the bar through to Epresso.

    If you want the Beef Wellington, make sure you arrive early or call the place in advance. I arrived there at 9 pm and there was no availability. Actually, they could not find my OpenTable reservation, but luckily there was space in the restaurant. Apart from that, good food - especially if you use the 50% discount voucher from OpenTable.

    The three course set menu was very good value for money. I wouldn't say it's the most amazing food but it's nice enough and the service is excellent. I would return as it is good value on a set menu and the staff are very attentive.
