Sunday Lunch
Traditional pub meets theme-restaurant, The Swan in East Sussex’s Forest Row is a cosy retreat in which old world England meets Swiss Alps. A roaring log fire and sofas you can sink right in to make The Swan’s bar area an inviting prospect but don’t get too settled – follow your stomach to the dining area for a feast of Himalayan proportions. It is on the menu that The Swan differs from other pub restaurants of its kind. Here, inspiration is taken from the mountain ranges of the world with special attention paid to locality and changing seasons. Travel to the Alps for Italian pizzas or chocolate fondue straight from the chalets of Switzerland, the Rockies for incredible American-style burgers or the Andes for nachos.

Good food we had the set menu i felt a little cheated by the amount of meat in the main middle compared to the main menu but apart from that food was good.

We opted for the family hot stones option. Having selected a number of dips & rubs, we were disappointed that we had to ask for them several times before some of them arrived (never got the full compliment). The meat was fine but felt like a bit of a gimmick paying to cook your own meal! Chips were very good...

I went there a few years back and the service was awful. This time however the service was good and made the experience so much better. I am glad I tried it again, as the food was very well received by the whole party too. So long as they can keep the service going then I will return.

Booked this restaurant for my birthday. Arrived was welcomed by my name( once said we had a table booked). Given a small glass of fizz. Food was excellent the service attentive without being intrusive. Great venue, busy and lively. Will be back as a lot of dishes yet to try

A good pub.
Nice atmosphere with friendly, efficient staff.
The Harvey's beer was in good condition, and the restaurant provided an extensive menu..
I had the roast dinner from set Sunday lunch menu which was a good standard..

Took my boys there for a Sunday lunch before cinema, service was friendly, we timed it well, booking a table for 12.30 as it got very busy later, but was v quiet when we arrived. Food was lovely, roasties where a little hard, poss under-cooked, but tasted nice, and better than overcooked ones often had elsewhere!
I would go again, but leave more time, as film in East Grinstead started at 2.15 and we where a bit late!

We had a great meal but the service was very slow - we even waited 20 minutes for our bill and had to ask several times.

We had Sunday lunch at the Swan. It used to do the hot rocks with a Tuna Steak which we were really looking forward to, but they have stopped doing it with Tuna. Very disappointing

We took my son (11) for his birthday treat with five friends. We had a huge round table outside on a very hot day. The service was brilliant, the children's menus were perfect for six boys, and they had a specials Sunday menu which suited us adults. As it was my son's birthday they brought out a chocolate fondue on the house, in addition to the boys' puddings! Slightly slow service (for 11 year olds), but could not complain as it was all home cooked food to order.

We enjoyed a fabulous family Sunday lunch on Fathers Day - the restaurant was busy but the service was good. As usual the vegetarian roast dinner option was delicious. Also cooking her own dinner on the hot rocks is the highlight for my daughter aged 11.

The food tasted good but it was expensive and while all the serving staff were pleasant and seemed attentive, it took a long time for the food to arrive. Our table was booked for 5.30 we sat down around 5.45 and were not finished until nearly 8.30

A wide variety on the extensive menu. I think this is a great lunch pub although think weekday and Saturdays are better than Sundays. Good wine, range of drinks and child friendly without compromising on atmosphere. grandparents and kids alike enjoyed it.

Its a good place to take children. The service from the staff was very good. The food whist that bit more expensive was not as one would expect. However the children in the party were very happy with what they got. Menu seemed to be too long trying to cover all angles. As a retired Chef I felt that they could say shorten the menu and change its make up via a board with three specials for that day.

My expectations weren't that high, I was expecting fairly standard pub grub and that's what we got. Service was friendly but slow (waited an hour from ordering to eating, which with young children in our party wasn't ideal). Mid-price, but I wouldn't say value for money.

Excellent choice on the menu, something for everyone!!!
The service was a little slow and the food not at its best (to give them their due it was a busy saturday night)
Maybe pick a quiet night as on a good night the food can be top notch.

The food was excellent and much appreciated by us and our friends. Although the service was a little bit slow, in fairness it was a Sunday lunchtime and the restaurant was very busy so we wouldn't hold that against them. We will definitely go back there.

4 of us walked to the Swan for Sunday lunch. Despite walking boots and thick outer clothes, we were warmly welcomed. As always the open log fires were burning and the atmosphere was friendly and relaxed. We love the leather sofas and armchairs - so homely. One of our favourite places after a walk.

Overall good, staff nice and attentive without being a nuisance, food was good, no skimping on size. Hot rock steak particularly good.

Good ambience in the place and was pretty full for a Monday evening, a good sign.

Sadly Slow service, missing parts of meals had to requested, ie vegetables and sides, slow bar staff, waitresses did well at taking the order but they were not backed up by an effective kitchen.

The swan forest row, went to this restuarant for a birthday meal with my best friend. I have been to this restaurant several times before and the service and food is lovely. The meals are a little on the pricey side, about £15 for a standard main but are very tasy with hugely generous portions so you get your monies worth. The creme brulee ice cream is delicious! would and will return.
