Lovely as always but particularly at Christmas. Food was delicious and service was great
We had a small Christmas gathering here ! It was lovely not hugely busy but welcoming and good attentive service . I ordered Partridge which as a cook I know is a dangerous choice , yes it was a tad dry but still pretty good . Cocktails excellent and some lovely choices in wine
Excellent food, good service, kids happy/safe and welcomed. Well done Victoria!
Very nice first visit, staff was amazingly accommodating. Really enjoyed it
Very good food. A lovely surprise. Great waiter and staff
excellent food, great service, wonderful location - will be back
Helpful, welcoming staff with a charming interior and ambiance. Food was delicious as well!
Hi James, Thank you so much for your review! We really appreciate the positive feedback. Hopefully see you here again soon. The Victoria
We regularly have lunch at the Victoria with friends and the food and service is always good. As the food and service is consistently good we will return on a regular basis. Thank you to you all.
The food was nice, but u fortunately can out on the cooler side. A warm plate is a must, especially given the cost.
Disappointed at 1pm on a Saturday to be given a BRUNCH MENU with limited choices.
Great place to chat as it is quiet ie no music. Food is good and homey and the service is excellent, really friendly staff.
The starter was good main course was bad potatoes overcooked lamb tough as boot leather wine tasted bitter
Great Sunday roast in the conservatory. Appreciated the team’s efforts to indulge my last minute request to change the table I booked.
I would and have recommended The Victoria. The food is always very good. My only problem with this visit was that it was rather forlorn in that we were the only people dining so there was little atmosphere. And it's much nicer in the conservatory which was not opened because of the lack of customers. But the meal was very good.
Yes enjoyed the evening but the pork chop tough so had to be returned
Replaced with Hake which was excellent
This was a Saturday lunchtime visit, which was a brunch only option. We had a main course only, me fish and chips (haddock ?) and my friend had mussels. Food was OK but nothing special (very small mussels). We finished with one sweet and one coffee. We had a 50cl carafe of Gavi de Gavi which was fine. The table was very small, so things got a bit cluttered. No bread was offered, but otherwise the service was extremely good and friendly. I thought that the bill was really rather expensive for the standard of OK food.
4 of us had a delicious meal save for soggy poppadoms. Waitress snapped one and said they were fine and recently fried. I asked for a replacement which arrived quickly and was good.
The beef roast was exceptional. Lovely pub , great staff and amazing food.
The best gastro pub this side of London. Excellent value for money.
Large table for 9 of us in the garden. Both sun & shade to suit all. Didn't appreciate it was only the brunch menu served until 3pm but mains & puds were fine for all. Food very good & full English breakfast a bargain at £11! Wine choice limited to only 2 roses. £42 for bottle Cotes de Provence rose, although lovely was def on the pricey side.
Staff excellent, attentive, efficient, smiley & friendly. Also took a great group photo for us to remeber our great Birthday lunch.
Great place for great food. The only reason it doesn’t get 5 stars is that it needs more veggie and vegan options.
Great meal on Saturday night. Hadn’t been for a while and the food was really really much better than I’d remembered it. Interesting flavours but not pretentious and we all had a great time. Will be going back for sure.
I love the Victoria, but my husband, who is a burger obsessive, is always a bit disappointed they don't have a burger on the menu on a Sunday. No bad thing if you ask me. The garden is lovely, and looking forward to the new children's playground equipment! The only downside was new/untrained staff who didn't get the order quite right and weren't as attentive as you would expect (waiting ages for drinks etc).
This has been a favourite place to eat for a number of years but on this occasion the food was disappointing - we are hopeful it was just a one off. The service, however, was terrific.
We had a lovely Sunday lunch. Food and wine were great. But, the room was very hot. A window or door needed to be opened as we were roasting by the end. Also, the waitress got our order wrong and rarely came back to the table. I felt it was also overpriced for what it was. I do like the Victoria, but I’m going to stick with ordering the burger from now on.
I cannot remember every having better fish and chips!
Very pleasant Sunday Lunch. Having booked a table for the inside we were able to choose to eat inside or in the courtyard area. Outside seating is first come first served.
Pub roast was good with tasty meat and the gravy was served in a separate jug. Portions were just right.
One thing to note is that on arrival we struggled to be served at the bar and so had to order our initial drinks at the table which, of course, then incur the overall service charge in the final reckoning.
It was extremely busy but the staff could not have been more attentive. I've never had such delicious roast beef either!
Excellent everything, I would highly recommend it for a very decent Sunday lunch.
We visited The Victoria twice in one weekend. The first time was for Friday night dinner and the second was for Sunday lunch. Both times the food and staff were excellent. We would highly recommend.
It's a good gastro pub, a bit overpriced, but with a clean and stylish interior and good food quality. Service a bit too informal. Plesent ambience and very quiet even on a Friday night.
an amazing service and food is just to die for! :-) highly recommended
Wife’s 50th birthday.
Lovely venue, lovely staff, lovely food. Would definitely recommend and return
The food was excellent with good service . The ambience is lovely and it feels intimate and personal . However when we were there , there were 9 dogs which although it is a pub, is surprising . I had to step over several dogs going to and from our table which I could have done without. Let’s hope this does not impact hygiene standards.
Great location, Excellent food, great service.
A standout gastro pub south of the Thames where so many disappoint.
It’s a great local location but for a venue with a potentially captive local audience in its doorstep it doesn’t feel like there’s a lot of TLC or care going into the food or service.
This is a lovely gastropub in a quiet street between the South Circular and Richmond Park. We had Sunday lunch here and the only vegetarian main course on offer was a risotto, which is so often the case in such establishments. I wasn’t so keen, so asked for the Sunday roast vegetables without any meat. This was readily provided and the whole meal was excellent. I was disappointed to have to pay for my main course the same price as for the pork roast. Perhaps the Victoria could rethink its charging policy in this regard.
We have been a few times and all occasions have been excellent. My party did comment on the front of house chap, he missed an order and seemed a little overwhelmed. Otherwise great complements to the chef from all my party.
Love this pub/restaurant but was slightly dismayed that when booking I asked if we could bring a dog. Yes was the answer I received but they omitted to tell me that dogs are only allowed in the bar which is nice but not as nice as the restaurant.
We still had a great time.
