The Vineyard Wine Bar
Wild mushrooms with garlic, shallots, herbs de Provence, and gruyere cheese over creamy ricotta on flaky puff pastry, drizzled with balsamic reduction
Another great yummy visit. One tip: when you know it’s someone’s birthday at the table, don’t be such so snooty - at least say “happy birthday”! We don’t want “free stuff or some bs song sang” …. Just a happy birthday would be nice. Other than that, a great place (so not really a dog especially with the five stars I’m giving). We can’t say “fantastic” all the time (although you mostly are)!
We so enjoyed the wine, food and service. What a great neighborhood restaurant and also perfect for travelers.
Great food, extensive wine list and a friendly, knowledgeable staff.
2nd wk in a roll coming here. First experience was a knock out - that good! 2nd experience was a bit difference. We realize we are “new” & this is mostly a local hang out. As we were leaving, the owner, whom we’ve seen earlier going around saying “hello” & chit chatting with his regulars (which you’d expect), completely skipped us & even gave us a bit of a “stink-eye” (likely unintentionally) but as we were leaving after such a good meal, we said “thank you & we’ll be back” as we passed him out the door. He replies back, “whatever”???!!! REALLY? That’s your response??! We’ve spent over 300$ in two visits & that’s your response? How quickly you’ve forgotten just a few wks ago you were struggling. When the “rush” to go out dies down, it’s the customer, the ones who give you praise, that ensures your survival. You already have a bit of a reputation of a bit of a snob’ism attitude (from your same local customers). If you’re gonna do so, don’t try to be European about it, learn from them. They do it in a way that keeps you coming back! You did it basically because you “think” your one. Trust me, not even close! Will give it one more try in a few wks - everyone, especially business owners, have a bad day (but you weren’t obviously). See you soon (although you wouldn’t know who we are)
I had the tuna very rare. Never had tuna prepared like that and I’ll never have it any other way from now on. Most exceptional. I’ve always had filet mignon very rare and now my tuna will likewise be rare from here on out.
Fantastic food. Love the tapas style
We went to The Vineyard for dinner during a low-key bachelorette party and it was perfect! The staff was friendly and knowledgeable. The food and wines were fantastic! We would absolutely go back again!
Best au poivre ever!:service was awesome, vine was supurb!
Can’t say enough! We saved the best for last, that’s for sure. Moved to the historic district a month ago and have tried every establishment with food. Some places, horrible! Others, good enough but nothing to write about. This place, a home run! Although a bit pricey, if the food and service is excellent, we don’t mind one bit. It was beyond that and I would’ve spent double for the exact same amount …. It was that good!
Love this restaurant. It's a nice quiet place to get a drink and great food, even on weekends. Staff is very knowledgeable of the extensive wine list and had great food recommendations.
Great selection. Food was delicious and we could enjoy a nice conversation at the table. Would have like to check out the patio.
My husband and I have lived all over the US and overseas and the Vineyard restaurant is right up there with the finest restaurants around. Chef Ron is a masterful chef, not a cook! His creations are unique and extremely tasty. His wife, Angie, always helps with the wine pairing.
We would highly recommend this restaurant to friends and strangers. Havre de Grace NEEDS this restaurant. An added bonus is the wine lounge where you will find a vast selection of excellent wines.
Great restaurant for a special occasion with a small party when you don't want to be stuffed uncomfortably with huge portions. Small plate restaurant with great food and great service.
Everything was great!
This is my second time eating here. I enjoyed myself even more this time. It was a special occasion and our server generously brought us champagne. The food was very good, the service was excellent and the wine wonderful.
Dinner with my daughter.
Best restaurant in the area by far. The small plate dishes and the wide range of wines by the glass are wonderful.
Great wine recommendations
This was my first time and I have to say I was very pleased overall with the Wine Bar. I thought it was cosy - the lighting was good - could have done without the TV (don't you go out to get away from all that?). Our server was very good - she was spot on about the shrimp Ziti - excellent. And the selection of wines is incredible. The only thing that I think would have been helpful would be to list pairings of wine with the food on the menu. Maybe as suggestions. I probably would not have ordered the wine if I had known there was a better one to compliment my dinner.
Wonderful evening. Food was fabulous, wine is superb and staff is top notch. One of our favorite places to dine.
Sat at the bar and chatted with owner.
Very friendly. Food was superb!
Perfect wine pairing suggestions! Extremely knowledgeable staff. Will definitely return.
Outstanding in every area. Great chat with the chef!!!
We were a group sitting at various tables.
All friends commented on how delicious the food was. The service was excellent.
The Vineyard has an amazing selection of wines to chose from.
We will definitely return!
It was so lovely to be back with our Vineyard friends! Everything was great!
This is our favorite Hartford County spot for an evening out. The food is always top notch, and they have a fabulous wine menu. Would highly recommend The Vineyard.
Food was great but a little under staffed
Enjoyed the wine bar. Food was great
Service was great
We had a wonderful dinner from start to finish. Angelia was very knowdlegable, helpful and friendly. We will definitely return
Really enjoyed the wine and food was delicious. Nice atmosphere and loved both being rushed and could just sit and relax and enjoy time with my friend. The service was also good.
Lovely experience, great food and ambience. Highly recommend!
We have eaten here on numerous occasions and never been disappointed. Food is fresh and delicious, service top-notch, and a great wine list! This last time I had a Flounder Florentine that was melt in your mouth yum. My husband also enjoyed his Carne Asada. We almost always get the mushroom tart, but this time it was not as good as I remembered. We shared one of the just a few bites desserts - the chocolate turtle and it was tasty and enough to satisfy.
Wow what a great meal! We worked our way down the menu ordering from each section and can say it was all done to perfection. I recommend ordering the filet, I ordered it Pittsburgh and it came out perfect charred on the outside and rare on the inside. The service was very good with the food coming out within minutes of ordering each course. The wine selection is better than expected with over 20 being offered by the glass.
The food was delicious and so was the service. Great selections for the cheese platter too. Some places do not always have cow-cheese choices so it was nice to see several on the menu here!
Chef has specials often. We usually get them. Flounder Florentine with lump crab was excellent! Timing of appetizers and dinner spot on.
Nice afternoon. Good choices of wine. Food was very good. I got the Brussels Sprout salad and special Monk fish with cold noodles. you have to try the wine infused ice cream.
Repeat customer, love this place! A wide selection of wines and not a bad one to choose from. Portion sizes a little smaller than I'd like, yet still appropriate if you go in with the understanding that it's a "small plates" menu.
Portion sizes were incredibly small and we left the place still hungry... it was our engagement night and we didn’t get any special drink / dessert... I mean why have the filter to fill in if you’re not going to do anything special in regards to it.. the wine was good and that was about it.. Oh and it took an hour to serve us our main course.. I had a Caesar salad and my Fiancé had tuna with rice... the table next to us was on their second bottle of wine and had eaten by the time we got our dinner.. 85 bucks down the drain for an appetizer of a “entre”. Over priced as hell and will not be back..
Had a great experience lunching with friends, from the charcuterie, the wine, the filet and desserts! All outstanding!
