30 years of excellence. This was no exception. Staff and service extraordinary. Here's to 30 more years of excellence.
Kinda disappointed. I remember coming to this place 4 yrs ago and at that time they served plates with passion. Seems now, that they are resting on their laurels. My risotto did not seem like it was made with arborio rice...it was al dente and then some. Seasoning was ho-hum....I literally could serve up something better with my own version of arborio rice, chicken stock, parmigiano reggiano, dry fino sherry, and diced onions. Not sure what’s going on there....hopefully things will get back to the way they were
Food was outstanding. Service over the top. Wonderful atmosphere. 5 Stars on all levels. Oh and amazing wine list.
Traditional Italian foods served nice and hot. The vegetable bowls on the table are a nice plus. Our sever was professional and excellent.
always great, high energy. excellent food and wine
First time in LA in 30 years. First dinner on our first night in town. HOMERUN!!! LOVED everything. Can’t wait to go back ❤️
When we walked in, there were mostly empty tables but the host decided to seat us against the wall rather than a pretty window seat. I asked to move and he said if we don’t stay long! Then the waiter was so rude. He’s an older, bitter Italian man that should retire. He gave us a few different wines to taste and reminded us that I only get one glass to test them! How rude. He also said he didn’t feel well and his throat hurt. Then go home! We don’t want to get sick, either! He was so unprofessional, and unpleasant all around. Also, the risotto tasted like stale rice and frozen vegetables from the freezer section at Ralph’s. Nerano is much better and I’m treated like a human there
Always great food. I love the fresh artichoke salad.
Excellent food and service. It s expensive but worth it. Toscana is a special place where I have dined at least 100 times. Enough said.
Best food everything is truly delicious!! great service...
Food is always excellent. Service is always the same--mediocre. I think the servers were trained in NYC! It's noisy but I expect that there, and it really doesn't bother me.
We thought the food was rather expensive and not quite as refined as other Italian restaurants on the Westside. It's a bustling place and clearly a neighborhood favorite. It just wasn't the place for us.
Best ravioli anywhere!!! The staff is lovely and this is just one of our best Italian restaurants in LA
The service was superb -- knowledgeable and attentive. But the food is the star here. We dined on a delectable artichoke salad, as fresh as can be, and followed it with a perfectly cooked and well-seasoned petrale sole filet (available lunchtime only, alas) and tagliatelle with mushrooms in a light cream sauce that looked amazing and tasted even better. Desert was Toscana's signature tiramisu, which was large by any standard, though at $15 a slice it seemed overpriced despite its deliciousness and volume. The coffee, courtesy of Lavazza, was the best cup of coffee I've had in recent memory -- whether in restaurant or at coffee bar. In sum, a great experience, albeit best reserved for special occasions unless one has very deep pockets.
Food was great waiter was cute
The service was excellent. The food is good but not extraordinary that you’d say ‘“yummmmm’... I dont think Id come back again.
Birthday lunch. I had requested a window table at the front of the restaurant and not a table near the kitchen or draft. We were seated right in front of the door and just next to the work station, reception and kitchen. I was disappointed but the food was delicious and the service this time was so so.
All in all, I would still always go back. Maybe next time the host will seat us at a window table🙏🏻🥰
I made a special birthday reservation at least a month in advance for an early dinner at 6 so we could have a nice table. I have lived in Brentwood for 36 years. When we got to the restaurant the host told us we could not sit at one of four tables open by the window. We ended up sitting at a table in the bar by the window. The server was very nice so I can’t complain about the service or the food. I won’t be going back because of the host not letting us eat in the restaurant at a table by the window. Very disappointing. We are all wealthy just not celebrities.
Simply excellent food, especially the vegetarian pastas.
This was not their best evening. I have patronized this establishment many times. Pizza was undercooked in middle, burned underneath & cheese was sparse. The veal was not well prepared & server left us sitting at the table waiting for the bill well after we had finished dessert. My last visit the server insisted that I place my entire order, appetizer, entree & dessert all at one time.
Great waiter! Food excellent!
Always The Best❤️
Buen restaurante con buen servicio
Excellent food - trumps other aspects like "attitude"
Best-of-class service teamed with exquisitely prepared and tasting food makes for a very special and memorable night.
This is one of my favorite neighborhood restaurants and bar. It’s good for young professionals. They share the same menu and kitchen with the next-door’s original spot. And their cocktails these fresh juices and it’s always been amazing cocktails there.
The food, service and ambiance was wonderful. The pasta special and swordfish special were outstanding - fresh, excellent recipes, and served with lovely presentations! Thank you!
Great ambiance, food and service. Made us feel very special despite the restaurant being busy. Thanks!
I really like Toscana. How can one tell if an Italian restaurant is good? How good is the simplest pasta? Toscana makes the simplest pasta an elegant, tasty and refined dish.
Great evening; delicious food, expedited and professional service. Highly recommended.
outstanding service. Outstanding food! I can't wait to eat there again.
I really enjoyed my dinner at Toscana with my daughter and a friend of hers. The waiter was excellent with his recommendations on dishes as well as the wine. Both appetizers - a burrata salad and a salad with baby artichoke - were very good and portions were on the large side. The main courses - the rib eye, chicken breast, and a pasta - were also tasty and presented nicely and good size. Both desserts were also tasty. Although not inexpensive, the overall bill (approx $430 inclusive of tip) for 3 persons was fine given a bottle of wine and a couple of glasses. Finally, I liked the vibe of the restaurant which was lively and busy but not excessively so.
love this place
we love it and will always come here for a special
or family get together
Toscana was recommended by a friend. The Italian cuisine is spectacular. I suggest you get there early and have a glass of wine in the separate bar area. The staff is knowledgeable and very attentive. Highly recommended.
Toscana is a perpetual favorite. My late wife loved it, also so going back a few weeks after her death was both happy and sad. Several of the employees remembered Liz and were appropriately saddened by hearing of her passing.
Emilio our waiter is absolutely terrific.
The foods consistently good regardless of what we have. This night we split several dishes and thoroughly enjoyed everything. The pasta bolognas was particularly good--great!
Toscana is neighborhood for me. I'll be there even more often now that I'm living alone.
I can even sit at the counter if I am by myself. Tops!!
2 women arrive for lunch at 12. Diners were already sitting at 2 tables when we arrive. The hostess was very apologetic and stated she would have to seat us at a table for 2 since the restaurant would become filled to capacity. We left at 1:50 and tables were still empty. Of course, we would have preferred a table for 4. Since 97% or more of the diners were men, it seemed sexist that we were placed at a small table while other tables for 4 had 2 men sitting together. Is this the restaurant’s policy or the archaic mindset of the hostess?
And when I made the reservation, I also stated that we were celebrating a birthday. I thought maybe the restaurant would surprise my friend with some birthday treat but that didn’t happen.
Otherwise, we had fun! The food was VG and our server, Davide, was fine.
Quite simply the best Italian restaurant in the entirety of Los Angeles.
