Excellent dinner! We loved it
We are regulars at Toscano. It is our favorite Italian restaurant in Boston, and that is saying something. I recommend it highly.
Outstanding food. Consistently great. Wonderful portions. Service was terrific, although we missed Ken.
Looking foward to next visit.
Best Italian restaurant by far in Boston.
It was perfect as usual!
It was fabulous! Delicious and delightful 😀
Went for my boyfriends birthday and our waiter was superb and the food was delicious.
A somewhat disappointing dining experience. I had eaten lunch at Toscano about two weeks before this dinner and everything was wonderful. At that lunch my companion and I were in the front dinning room by the Charles St window. Food and service at that luncheon were exceptional.
On Thursday, 6/13 I asked my wife to join me for a romantic dinner at Toscano. On arrival we were directed to the back dinning room and seated at table, hard against the glass wall with waiters going back and forth on the other side. My view was the disorganized kitchen. The table was a standard large table, set with two places. Rather than being near my wife, I was across a large table space. The room's acoustics had already made conversation rather challenging, when at the table very close by, a two year old child had a total restaurant meltdown. This was not the romantic ambiance I had envisioned when I made the reservation.
The service could not have been better. Kudos to the waiter.
The same could not be said of the food. The $37 veal chops were tough and had little taste.
My conclusion and recommendation is to be sure to book the front dinning room and avoid the rib veal chop.
BTW: In error I first made the reservation on your site for Friday, 6/14. I immediately cancelled that one on your site, received confirmation it was cancelled and made the reservation on your site for Thursday, 6/13. Imagine my surprise when Toscano called at 6:12pm Friday 6/14 to inquire as to why we had not kept our reservation. Your site's software or their system failed on that one.
Outstanding in every way! As always! So gracious and accommodating:)
Always excellent service and cuisine. A must visit on Charles Street!
Great neighborhood restaurant. The scallops were really fresh and tasted great with that wonderful sauce. We also had the scaloppine Limone which also tasted great. I would love to come here again when I come to visit again. Next time the pasta which looked and smelled great.
Thank you for attentive and fast service and very tastey and fresh food.
A little tough to get into but amazing! Small and cozy, great for special occasions.
First visit and nice surprise. Pizza and pasta dishes were spot on. Had a steak at the bar and it was superb. Exceptional attention to front staff and also waitstaff. Will def add to return list. Would recommend for business lunches or dinner as well.
I try to go here whenever I am in the neighborhood. Love their food. Service is good and great value on food. We shared the grilled calamari (1 of my favs) and the grilled veggies for apps. My dining partners had the scallops, Bolognese, and I had the mushroom risotto. It was all delicious. Can't wait to return.
The restaurant staff were unbelievably kind and accommodating! I requested a window seat on the app and they had one available when I arrived. The food was scrumptious and the waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu and offered a few suggestions of his own. It was a great experience and we’ll definitely be going back!
It was awesome
Amazing. Best Italian anywhere in United States. Pasta and fish were delicious.
Great accommodating staff; courteous service; Delicious Food; Nice Ambiencee; great neighborhood.
This was our second visit to Toscano’s. The first time we just happened to be in the area, unfortunately they were fully booked. We had a chance to look around and decided to make reservations for the following weekend. It did not disappoint. The service was very nice. - unobtrusive yet attentive. We arrived early after a walking tour of a neighborhood art show, and they kindly seated us ahead of schedule. The food was perfect and the chef readily made some adjustments for food allergies.
A very nice restaurant serving classic Italian food. Pastas were all excellent! Service was outstanding. Serving sizes are large so be sure to ask about half and petite portions.
Toscano is a superb restaurant. Not to be missed. Superb food and service.
I have to the one in Cambridge many times and have loved it. It was very disappointing to have cold food, and service as if I were burden, and everything was very rushed.
This is one of my favorite Italian Restaurants NOT located in the North End. The service, ambiance and food is always top notch; and with a great wine selection to choose from. I treated my girlfriend and her sister for dinner; we had Peter as our waiter, and he made the ladies feel welcomed and relaxed; providing for a most enjoyable dinner experience! The girls loved this place!
All that said, I always like to check off a few things of note that were less than perfect. First, i will say that depending on where you are seated, will be the difference between quiet to moderate noise. The larger open space room is a bit more noisy. The second thing to note is that because of close proximity seating, I would get bumped into from time to time from both the occasional patron passing by to the waitress attending the adjacent table; and I’m not a big guy. And finally, and I’m nitpicking here, but c’mon, everyone that goes to a high end Italian Restaurant looks forward to the bread that is served prior to dinner. The bread served here is about as bland as any served; all that was provided with it was olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
But I need to be clear here; with that one minor thing about the bread, the appetizers and dinner were phenomenal!!
Great food - everything I love about Italian food: simple dishes, with great flavour. The waitress solved our ‘Brits in the USA’ dilemma of not coping well with large US servings, by offering us smaller portions and sharing dishes - we actually had enough space to get to dessert for the first time this holiday! Very welcoming atmosphere - we are going to return before the end of our holiday.
Great location. Very nice atmosphere. Service and food very good. Really enjoyed it!
Wonderful dinner as usual. We once again had Peter as our server - he is dedicated to ensuring a wonderful experience.
Toscano is all about excellent service. The waiters and support staff are well-trained and consistently polite and solicitous, and they know the menu. The operations are very well organized and it is clear that everyone is working within a well-oiled machine. The food itself is hit or miss. We had a truly dreadful eggplant parmigiana that looked like something you might get at Pizza Hut served on a tiny plate, straight out of the microwave.
Toscano is a very decent restaurant, but we were disappointed. The quality of the food was adequate, but not special, which it should have been given the price. The best part was the bread and the salad. The service when we first arrived at 5:30 was excellent, but quickly declined when the restaurant filled up. We had to wait a considerable amount of time for someone to pick up our credit card. All in all, it felt like a restaurant that is designed for tourists, but not for discerning clientele.
Toscano never disappoints. Very good food, selection, service.
I used to spend Sunday evenings at Toscano when I was living in Boston- my Sunday supper, if you will.
I was back in Boston after a couple of years and was so happy to be back at Toscano! My meal was, as usual, delicious (tri colore salad, lamb chops, white chocolate blueberry tart), the wine suggestion was perfect and the service was impeccable. LOVE it here!
What an absolutely amazing dining experience! We have dined at many Italian restaurants and consider Toscano to be one of the very finest. Our server was top notch. Thank you for making my birthday so special.
I love the food at Toscano but the acoustics are brutal!!! Too noisy - they should do something about
My wife and I have loved Toscano since we first visited the Cambridge location several years ago; it became an instant favorite of ours. Great cuisine; pleasant, accommodating staff all around; nice-looking surroundings; etc. We enjoy both the Cambridge and the Boston locations and always stop in if we're in the respective areas. Highly regarded!
Hands down best restaurant in Boston! Consistently superb in every way.
Absolutely Fabulous! I have never had a bad experience. The food, service, cocktails and ambiance are all Fabulous!
Great food at a great location....not your ordinary Italian menu....highly recommended
Everything considered - quality of service, food, ambiance - Toscano's is Boston's best restaurant. A delightful dining experience, enough so that we've returned repeatedly.
Just totally perfect.
The earlier reviews of Toscano were spot on. This place did not disappoint. The house made gnocchi with wild boar ragu was divine! Ambience, service, value...everything was wonderful. Can’t wait to go back.
