Trio Grill is wonderful. The food is excellent and very consistent. Have never had a bad meal or bad experience. The wait staff is truly professional and know how to treat you right! Always a great choice for romantic dinner or just a night out! One of my favorites!
Always the best food and service. Never dissapointed. Had the Bison and the sesame tuna and the pear cobbler. We are members of the clean plate club!!
Fantastic menus and service. Valet parking. Excellent bar. Live piano on Friday evening. Great spot for special occasions.
Drinks at the bar-great bartender. Dinner was delicious and well served. Not our first visit and not our last!
Been to TRIO many times and the food is ALWAYS consistently excellent. Love how they integrate the seasons into their meal choices. Keep up the good work.
I'm new to Virginia and wanted a nice place to celebrate my birthday with some friends. Trio Grill did not disappoint. The staff were very attentive and friendly. The food was amazing and they even surprised me with a little chocolate cake with a candle. I will definitely return and I highly recommend it!
My wife and I celebrated our anniversary. This was the first time we dined at this restaurant. The atmosphere was very nice and cozy. Chairs were a little uncomfortable and seemed a little odd for a restaurant. The food was great but a little pricey. Our waiter (Favio) was superb and did a great job informing us of the specials along with recommendations for other choices. It took longer than expected to receive our main course but was worth the wait. Overall, we had a nice time.
We live in Maryland and our daughter lives near this restaurant. It is our 3rd time here and it was wonderful as Usual. The waiter was wonderful and we have had him every time. Lucky us. His name starts with an F. He is very good at what he does. He was exceptional. The noise was full of laughter and talking and the food was impeccable. Valet was great! Love this restaurant.
This place is fantastic. The food is stellar;?almost seems like Michelin equality. Cocktails are amazing. Their seafood it is shockingly good and their filet mignon is equally good.
We came as a group of seven and the service was great. They kept an eye on water glasses and wine glasses. The food was quite good and well prepared. Definitely an Italian style, but many non-Italian dishes as well. They have a nice selection of wines at pretty reasonable prices for a restaurant.
We ordered tuna nachos which were great. We ordered 3 dry aged ribeyes which were all fatty and hard to eat (ordered medium and medium rare). The bolognese was good. Wine list was pricier than necessary; restaurants are getting creative with their sourcing for quality at the right price and this list was traditional. The apple dumpling dessert was the highlight. Ambiance could be so much better with different upholstery; the exposed brick, etc offered potential. Best to sit at bar for the bar ambiance and happy hour prices.
One of the most outstanding restaurants I've had the pleasure of dining at. Excellent food with a 'magic' touch. Our waiter was extremely accomplished, listened to our wants and questions and answered with confidence as he knew the all the dishes and their ingredients and attempted to pair them to our likes. The manager (Samuel) made the meal even more enjoyable with his visits and conscientious attention to our meal. This is our new 'Go-To' restaurant for truly exceptional 'Fine Dining'. I could not give any restaurant a higher rating.
The special that night pumpkin ravioli was aaaamazing. We ordered a 2nd!! Favi I think the name of our waiter was outstanding! Very memorable date night.
Great place, but if you go there with a large party you may have to wait awhile to be seated. We had a reservation and they seated use 20-30 minutes late. Also, great food, but it is pricey.
This was a fun evening in an upscale restaurant. The waiter was extremely attentive and he guided us to good choices (if the most expensive) on the menu! I'd definitely come back.
Excellent food and wait staff. Waiters were attentive, without being intrusive
The food is always good and the staff is always friendly and accommodating. This restaurant is a great place to socialize with friends and enjoy a meal.
I found the restaurant to be too noisy and the food was not that good. I had the eggplant and it was over fried, over cooked and was not good at all!
It’s on the expensive side but the quality of the food does not reflect a quality restaurant.
The only issue was that they were out of the app we wanted and 3 of the main dishes and this was for a 6:30 res so we were surprised they ran out that early. The food we did get was excellent and we would definitely go back.
The food was excellent, the ambience was very good and the service very affable if a tad slow. I have already recommended this place to a friend and plan to return.
Went for date night and overall really liked the warmth of the bar and overall ambiance, but the table for two is quite long. It almost made it feel more corporate or appropriate for like a business lunch. The chairs (though super comfy) had some weight to them so they didn’t easily slide on the carpet.
I was a little sad when one of wait staff removed the butter too soon, as I still had some of my delicious bread left to enjoy.
While I am being picky (as I believe restaurants of this caliber’s entire experience should reflect what’s on the plate), the food was absolutely delicious - from the bread and butter ;) to the steaks, gnocchi, Brussels and Mac & cheese!
We had a lovely dinner out on the patio at Trio Grill. The buratta cheese appetizer was a great start. The steak fillet was flavorful and came with a great sauce as well. My dining partners pasta was not your typical bolognese, with excellent flavor through out. The service was professional and spot on for timing. We will be back.
Nice place and good food but expensive. great selection of seafood dishes for new englanders palate.
It was good
A great place to dine. The service was excellent and the food was wonderful.
I arrived at the restaurant in the middle of a downpour which continued through my meal. They did offer valet parking, but I found a space close to the door. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The Beef Bolognese, which I had, was quite good. My friend seemed to enjoy her fish dish. The topper was their specialty creme brulee which was darker than most but creamy and the crust was out of this world. They use sea salt in the crust, which is one thing that makes it so special. It was a little noisy but alright for conversation. I would recommend Trio.
The food was delicious but the service was exceptionally slow.
We had a great time with our family at Trio. The food, service and ambiance were all top notch!!!
The 'what would you recommend this restaurant for' section has nothing for service level. Fabio Chavez was a wonderful server, great recommendations for wine, nice sense of humour, not pretentious. Service makes the night when you expect the food to be tasty. His level of service was on point.
Repeat performance. food excellent, service excellent. All employees are pleasant
Severs JP and Fabio very fun. Would recommend this place to anyone. Thanks.
Now that I've had a couple days to reflect, the experience was surprising (in a good way), the waitstaff are very knowledgeable, friendly, and on their game (which is more than I can say for most restaurants). The main course had appropriate presentation/plating, came out fairly timely (you may want an appetizer if you're starving), my steak was the perfect temperature/color, and tasted so good that I would open-hand slap a stranger to eat it again (10/10 on that habanero mustard btw). If I had to be disappointed about something it would be the bread -it's basically extruded sandpaper made of tasteless captain crunch, and it will destroy the inside of your mouth, do not eat it. The honey butter is tasty, but not tasty enough to go through that again.
Use to be one of the best meals in the area. Meal was extensive as usual but this time it took an hour to receive, was so so and bill was wrong. Nuts!
Service was excellent but the food just wasn't good. I will admit that we went on a sunday early evening and the place was quite busy. Sunday is usually a day when the "A" team isn't working the kitchen but a restaurant still needs to meet certain standards.
Fried oyster appetizer looked nice but the oysters were extremely small and over-fried. Gnocchi appetizer was gummy and burnt from the saute pan although the sauce with it was decent.
Halibut entree was the most over cooked piece of fish I have ever had anywhere - dry as sawdust. Crabcakes lacked flavor. The eggplant stack entree was very dark and appeared that the overly thick eggplant slices were not leeched of moisture properly and were deep fried. Just not good at all. The one entree that seemed pretty good was the scallops, although I prefer to have them cooked less and thicker as opposed to sliced in half and served as medallions. The sauce and succotash type mixture was good though.
The steaks seemed ok as we saw them on other tables. But frankly, I will go somewhere else for a good steak if that's what we're into on any given night.
We might try again on another night but our party of four left thinking that there were much better options in the mosaic district at this pricepoint for what we ate.
Hidden gem -- once you're inside, you wouldn't know that Route 29 was just outside!
Everything about our dinner was flawless, from the staff to the food and ambiance. It was a perfect dinner.
First time at Trio Grill. Our waiter JP was thoughtful and gave our table good recommendations all around. The food was very good and wine worked well with all our different meals. We will be back!
We came here for our anniversary dinner. my husband and I lived the ambiance of the place. Our waiter was excellent, the menu had a great variety of food. I will definitely come back!
Food and service was great as always!
The bar area is our favorite. Their bartenders do a fantastic job and the food is great.
Service was friendly, attentive & efficient. Oysters on the half shell were delicious. Everything was good & beautifully presented. My halibut was cooked perfectly. Restaurant has some outdoor covered seating but it was a hot muggy night. The menu offered a good variety of choices — meats & seafood. We definitely will return.
