Great atmosphere and service but some of the entrees and desserts were served lukewarm.

Half the people in our party ordered the Half Chicken entrée and all were disappointed. The chicken was dried, bland, and the preserved lemon jus was not pleasant to the taste buds. The salted caramel crème brulee flavor was wonderful but was lacking the layer of hardened caramelized sugar.
Pork belly and tuna nachos were amazing. Cocktails were very good as well. Service and decor was great. Best dinner ever!
Solid restaurant week value. Very good food (limited choices, but all good) and great service. Parking situation was not good. Lot full and valet hard to reach with cars log-jammed. Hard to get in and out, especially after 6 pm on a Saturday.

ALWAYS ALWAYS fantastic food. Every time. They have some classics but change seasonally and some of theirs are interesting fusion twists. They have excellent seafood as well.
We hadn't been in awhile feeling like the new chef didn't live up to Chef Kelly's food, but decided to try it again for restaurant week. The appetizers were amazing - the little gem caesar was spectacular and the roasted cauliflower appetizer combined sweet and sour with olives and raisins. The roasted pork loin was succulent with sweet potato mash and broccolini. The smoked salmon was cooked perfectly. And of course their desserts were too good to pass up. The espresso mousse was beautifully served in a coffee cup and tasted as good as it looked. The key lime pie is one of their best desserts with marshallow on top instead of meringue. We also had the chocolate torte - creamy, rich, had to take it home. Service was great - even though they were very busy. Wine list is extensive with many of my favorites. It was so good we went back later in the week with our friends.
Food was fine, but even two thirds of the way across the dining area, we still had to talk too loud to hear ourselves over the piano. Very attentive service.
Food was excellent but the noise level was horrible. We had to raise voice to talk to the person next to us and had no hope of hearing the person across the table. Service was very slow--an hour before we got our first course, and they forgot the glass of wine I ordered so I had to ask for it again when the first course came.
Great food and ambiance with live pianist but it was Restaurant Week and our waitress was busy and not as attentive plus had to wait a good bit between first course and entree.
We enjoyed an excellent meal and appreciated that all of the dishes we enjoyed for Restaurant Week are available on the regular menu. There are some that we want to come back and try again, and some that we will want more of. The service was impeccable -- friendly and professional. We had a fantastic evening.

Our dinner was during Restaurant Week, but this place is so awesome, not only did they offer a Restaurant Week menu, they also offered a Chef’s Tasting Menu, and you could still get anything off the regular menu! We ordered items from all three menus!
I visited TRIO Grill with my family for DC’s Winter Restaurant Week and really wanted to love this place. Let me start off by saying that the service is top-notch. Complimentary valet was provided on a cold night after a full weekend of snow. We were seated quickly and our waiter was very knowledgeable about the menu. My husband and I decided to forego the fixed price menu for restaurant week after we saw some options from the regular menu that we wanted to try instead. My 7 year old loved the Shrimp and Grits, my husband loved the Seared Tuna, but my aged rib-eye just didn’t do it for me. I ordered it medium rare to be on the safe side, and when it came out our server asked me to cut into it while he waited - I thought that was really considerate. And I was glad he did because it was still too rare, so without hesitation our server brought it back to cook a touch more. It arrived
One would think that during RW the Chef shows off his best. Well, if this was the case than the food was nothing but disgusting. Bellow the worse roadside Diner. Horrible combinations of tastes, over salted and over sweet. Bad commercial sauce poorly presented with re-heated bread. Excellent place for those who do not know what food is. And all this with a very friendly waiter.

Went to Trio with my family for my birthday. Luckily it was Restaurant Week, so there were great options for a three course meal. The food and service were excellent.
Lovely experience as always at Trio! We celebrated our anniversary, as we have in the past, and Trio never disappoints. The table was decorated beautifully with the roses my husband had delivered, along with 2 glasses of complimentary champagne for our celebratory toast. Food remains superb and the service stellar. The filet mignon is the best in town per my husband. I had the scallops which were sublime. The key lime pie remains as authentic tasting as what I’ve eaten in Key West. Overall, a marvelous evening and dining experience! Thank you to Samuel, Josh, and the entire staff for making our day special.

All good! The PEI oysters, grilled cauliflower and shrimp cocktails were good appetizers. The sommelier recommended a good reasonably priced wine. The short ribs, ahi tuna and salmon were all good. It was nice to retire to the outdoor space next to the fire for cigars and whiskey after dinner. The servers were very friendly.
Actually the best first date I’ve ever had, and it was in no small part to Trio Grill. The cocktails were superb, and the food was outstanding.
The food and service were both absolutely perfect! We will 100% be coming back here.
The service is exceptional, the food is expertly prepared, the drinks are well crafted, and the Mgt always makes our group feel special. We are a group of friends that meet for dinner regularly to celebrate life and Trio Grill is one of our favorite to meet up places.
My first time there and eat out at nice places frequently. On good side- cool vibe, excellent food, great cigar bar and we all enjoyed the cocktails and wine. Downside- service was poor- nice girl but took forever to place order- sides ordered came out 1/3 thru meal, additional wines by glass ordered but never came . Told her at end of the meal but too late as we were finished eating. She was told on front side and thru reservations it was a birthday- no effort there. Disappointed but the food may make me return- we’ll see. Lots of good restaurants in the DMV.

The food was very good. The curry mussels were very good, although more on the sweet side. The steak did not come as ordered but they corrected it. The flounder was superb!

My husband and I went here for an early new years date - it was just as wonderful as it was the last time we came. The steak is fantastic, mac and cheese SO rich and creamy...we each had Moscow Mules (fresh ginger!) which had a taste like no other I've ha. Our service was wonderful; management makes SURE all guests are happy; our server Kristi was attentive, funny and got everything right for our order. We love coming here for special occasions.

Had a wonderful date here with my wife. We were celebrating our new baby and her new job. Server was excellent; unfortunately, I forgot his name. He was courteous, provided great recommendations, and was timely. Samuel, one of the managers, was great, as well. He provided delicious wine recommendations to pair with our main courses. He even brought over tastings to try. The food was amazing: from appetizers to salads to main courses to desserts. Flounder in particular was arguably the best fish we’ve ever had. Because of our celebrations, the restaurant brought over two glasses of sparking wine and a dessert on the house. Will definitely come back!
We enjoyed a wonderful evening at Trio. The tuna nacho appetizer and the special tomato bisque soup were both quite tasty. The kitchen kindly split the kale salad for 2 and it was perfect. The cracker coated flounder & potatoes was among the best flounder dish I have enjoyed in a long time! Our servers were accommodating & on target with suggestions & delivery of our meal. Looking forward to our next visit.
We love Trio and use any special occasion to come here. Food and cocktails are always delicious and the staff do a wonderful job of attention to detail.
As usual, Trio Grill was a delight. The service is absolutely fabulous as is the food. The manager here is wonderful and never forgets anyone he has met. What a pleasure. Worth every penny! A true find!
We went to TRIO for dinner this past Friday to celebrate my husbands birthday. I checked reviews it looked great so I made a reservation. Food was okay, not great I got scallops which were literally 4 scallops with a spoonful of butternut squash puree. (wouldnt recommend that) . I felt the portion was small .My husband got a dry aged ribeye ( the most expensive steak in the menu btw) . He said it tasted great and it was cooked perfectly but it was chewy. It was taking him so long to chew it that he couldnt finish it. It wasnt tender.
After all, it wasnt bad ,however,I dont think we would go back. I would expect the food and portions to be better for the price.
Also, I asked if they could bring a dessert with a candle since It was my husbands birthday and they forgot to bring it.
Went for my wife's birthday and everything was excellent. Not sure why we hadn't gone here before. Very nice upscale dining.
