We had a lovely dinner out on the patio at Trio Grill. The buratta cheese appetizer was a great start. The steak fillet was flavorful and came with a great sauce as well. My dining partners pasta was not your typical bolognese, with excellent flavor through out. The service was professional and spot on for timing. We will be back.
Nice place and good food but expensive. great selection of seafood dishes for new englanders palate.
It was good
A great place to dine. The service was excellent and the food was wonderful.
I arrived at the restaurant in the middle of a downpour which continued through my meal. They did offer valet parking, but I found a space close to the door. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The Beef Bolognese, which I had, was quite good. My friend seemed to enjoy her fish dish. The topper was their specialty creme brulee which was darker than most but creamy and the crust was out of this world. They use sea salt in the crust, which is one thing that makes it so special. It was a little noisy but alright for conversation. I would recommend Trio.
The food was delicious but the service was exceptionally slow.
We had a great time with our family at Trio. The food, service and ambiance were all top notch!!!
The 'what would you recommend this restaurant for' section has nothing for service level. Fabio Chavez was a wonderful server, great recommendations for wine, nice sense of humour, not pretentious. Service makes the night when you expect the food to be tasty. His level of service was on point.
Repeat performance. food excellent, service excellent. All employees are pleasant
Severs JP and Fabio very fun. Would recommend this place to anyone. Thanks.
Now that I've had a couple days to reflect, the experience was surprising (in a good way), the waitstaff are very knowledgeable, friendly, and on their game (which is more than I can say for most restaurants). The main course had appropriate presentation/plating, came out fairly timely (you may want an appetizer if you're starving), my steak was the perfect temperature/color, and tasted so good that I would open-hand slap a stranger to eat it again (10/10 on that habanero mustard btw). If I had to be disappointed about something it would be the bread -it's basically extruded sandpaper made of tasteless captain crunch, and it will destroy the inside of your mouth, do not eat it. The honey butter is tasty, but not tasty enough to go through that again.
Use to be one of the best meals in the area. Meal was extensive as usual but this time it took an hour to receive, was so so and bill was wrong. Nuts!
Service was excellent but the food just wasn't good. I will admit that we went on a sunday early evening and the place was quite busy. Sunday is usually a day when the "A" team isn't working the kitchen but a restaurant still needs to meet certain standards.
Fried oyster appetizer looked nice but the oysters were extremely small and over-fried. Gnocchi appetizer was gummy and burnt from the saute pan although the sauce with it was decent.
Halibut entree was the most over cooked piece of fish I have ever had anywhere - dry as sawdust. Crabcakes lacked flavor. The eggplant stack entree was very dark and appeared that the overly thick eggplant slices were not leeched of moisture properly and were deep fried. Just not good at all. The one entree that seemed pretty good was the scallops, although I prefer to have them cooked less and thicker as opposed to sliced in half and served as medallions. The sauce and succotash type mixture was good though.
The steaks seemed ok as we saw them on other tables. But frankly, I will go somewhere else for a good steak if that's what we're into on any given night.
We might try again on another night but our party of four left thinking that there were much better options in the mosaic district at this pricepoint for what we ate.
Hidden gem -- once you're inside, you wouldn't know that Route 29 was just outside!
Everything about our dinner was flawless, from the staff to the food and ambiance. It was a perfect dinner.
First time at Trio Grill. Our waiter JP was thoughtful and gave our table good recommendations all around. The food was very good and wine worked well with all our different meals. We will be back!
We came here for our anniversary dinner. my husband and I lived the ambiance of the place. Our waiter was excellent, the menu had a great variety of food. I will definitely come back!
Food and service was great as always!
Service was friendly, attentive & efficient. Oysters on the half shell were delicious. Everything was good & beautifully presented. My halibut was cooked perfectly. Restaurant has some outdoor covered seating but it was a hot muggy night. The menu offered a good variety of choices — meats & seafood. We definitely will return.
We have dinner at Trio often and enjoy the atmosphere and food. It's an outstanding restaurant and the staff is most helpful and polite.
Always love coming here. Consistent with great food & great service!
We made the mistake of going during restaurant week. The portions were very small, the food was overcooked and bland, and the service was poor. The waiter served dessert while we were eating dinner and dropped the check while we were eating dessert. When you spend $100 on dinner for two, you should not feel pushed out the door. I wrote to the management to describe this experience, but I was offered no incentive to return, so I don't plan to.
Made reservations through Open Table and put in notes it was my husband's birthday and asked for something special (i.e. cake/candle, etc.). Without me mentioning anything the staff wished my husband a Happy Birthday, and brought a great dessert with candle at end of meal! Outstanding service!! The food was also great, which made for a perfect evening.
It was ok, nothing special for the prices. Our food was fine and thats about all I can say that's positive. I had the pork chop and didn't care much for it. Very hard to cut and the taste was nothing special. My husband got the cioppino and it was nothing to brag about either. Our waiter described an item that was on the restaurant menu and it was by far the most appealing item on all the menus. Unfortunately, we weren't interested in the Restaurant Week Special and were not allowed to order that item on it's on. Bummer...... It was my husbands birthday and there was no acknowledgement of that. I did include that on my Open Table reservation and hoped there would be some kind of acknowledgement but there was none. The best thing we had all night was his tequila cocktail, I believe it was called Tequila with Love....that was delicious!
Favio took really good care of me and my boyfriend. The food was good and even though we came for restaurant week, we weren't treated any differently. We sat outside and got to enjoy a nice summer evening. I will definitely be back, for both the service and the food.
Really nice dinner with great service. We will be back!
This was our second visit to restaurant. It didn't disappoint . Food was very good and the wait staff was very attentive and genuinely friendly.
Trio is always lovely. Great food and great service. For some reason it was particularly loud on this visit which we never noticed on previous trips. We usually go with a party of 6 and they have these perfect-sized round tables with the most comfortable dinning chairs ever. Make a reservation- you wont regret it.
We were there from 6:30 until closing (literally, the last to leave). We were celebrating our marriage anniversary. Started with gin and rye whiskey with Oyester platter (not on the menu). Moved to main course with dry-aged ribeye and bison with shatter wine. Then we realized they had a cigar lounge. We had our dessert there. Met few regulars and the day got even more exciting. They did not have the good cigars and good scotch in stock. However, Cigars + whiskey (scotch and bourbon) greeted the late evening. Oh! And great conversations.
Really good food, really good service! I went there specifically for the halibut and was not disappointed.
Our wait staff were amazing! We were celebrating our 18th wedding anniversary and they went over and above. Their customer service made the night extra special!
The restaurant was nice but they did not have enough parking spaces.
We went for my husband's birthday and were so pleased. We have driven past several times but this was our first time to try it out and we are so glad we did. Good service and delicious food. Will definitely return
Since I've reviewed Trio Grill before, this will be short: The Caesar salad, always very good, is once again including white anchovies--for me, a big plus. Anchovy haters need not worry: the waiter inquires whether the diner wishes them on the salad. The gazpacho was a little more acidic than in some restaurants which some folks may love and others not. The fish (I ordered the halibut) continues to be very fresh and not overwhelmed with sauces. My husband was very happy with the half chicken.
The biggest change has been the service: When we first ate at Trio about 4 1/2 years ago, the service was so poor that it says something about how good we found the food that we were willing (albeit about a year later) to try it again. We've eaten there several times since. The food is still excellent and, at least in our experience, the service has become excellent to match.
Wonderful evening. Great food. Interesting menu. Superb service. Can't wait to go back. The scallops were sensational served on top of a delicious mix of vegetables. Also the key lime pie with coconut crust was the best I've ever had.
Amazing service. Our server - Favio - was AMAZING!!!
Food and service were nice but we were seated in the back of the dining room near the smoking room. Midway through our meal the smoke was very bothersome with people coming and going to the smoking room. Will not be returning.
My wife and I chose the Trio for our anniversary dinner. The food was absolutely amazing. The waiter was helpful, polite, and friendly. Our food came quickly. The seating was comfy and the lighting was great. We had a wonderful dinner. It was a perfect celebration of our 3rd anniversary. We would reccomend the Trio grill to anyone.
Our waiter was EXCEPTIONAL!!!
We came for a birthday celebration. My husband wanted a good steak dinner, and Trio's menu offered a variety of steaks for a decent price. He was quite pleased with his meal. I loved the cocktail menu and the festive glassware! Nice wine list. Our food was delicious, but what really set this place apart was the exceptional service. We will definitely be back.
