Twelves Grill and Cafe now sells PA Craft Beers and Local Wines. Our restaurant is set in a historic bank in the small Borough of West Grove, PA. West Grove is convenient to Rts.1 and 41, 10 mins from Kennett Square and Longwood Gardens and 20 mins from Hockessin, DE.

Twelves began with renovations of the 125 year old bank in January 2008 and the doors to the restaurant were opened on August 26, 2008. Twelves continues to be an amazing part of the West Grove Borough. We currently seat for lunch, brunch, and dinner along with hosting private events, special themed dinners, and local fundraisers.

Twelves Grill and Cafe has been owned by Knute and Bernadette Mellon since 2018. The Mellons are originally from Philadelphia and moved to West Grove in 2013. They have three children Gavin, McKayla, and Maci. The Mellon Family has many exciting plans for the future here in West Grove.

    Second time in a row we have been somewhat underwhelmed. Our server Mary was great and served the salad we were sharing split on two plates. The duck came with herb potatoes and some of them were still a bit crunchy (underdone). The halibut had a nice sear on the top but they forgot the buerre blanc sauce (I had forgotten the full description of the dish and had convinced myself the sauce was a vinaigrette, my taste buds are also compromised due to medical treatments.) The char on the cauliflower was overdone IMO.

    We love this restaurant! The food is always well prepared and there are so many good choices it's hard to decide. They use local ingredients whenever possible and change the menu with the seasons. This is a great place for a relaxing lunch. The wait staff is always friendly and efficient.

    Mother’s Day. The interior of the restaurant needs work there is no ambiance at all. It’s like a cafeteria. Food is good but I don’t think I would go back. I would rather sit in a beautiful room with ok food.

    There were two moms and a son enjoying a Mothers Day dinner. We enjoyed appetizers, fish choices for our entrees and dessert. I really enjoy the wine selection from local vineyards.

    The food and the staff are awesome. Our party of 4 tried four different options from the menu and all were outstanding. We will be back to try all of the others. All of the wait staff and greeters were extremely friendly and attentive. One of the best restaurants around!

    Nice quiet setting, attentive server made for enjoyable dinner. We like being able to bring our own bottle of wine when ever we go there. This time my wife enjoyed the duck and I liked the crab cake sandwich. (I messed up by not asking to not have the tarter sauce, but it was easily corrected). The bay seasoned fries were served hot temperature wise which I really appreciated.

    Food is always excellent at Twelves. Service is super friendly and quick. Only thing I wouldn't give five stars to is noise level. It is hard to hear each other when the restaurant is busy.

    Five of us dined for dinner. Two had crabcake sandwiches and old bay seasoned fries. One person had the oyster special as a starter and the crabcake entrée, which consisted of two sizable crabcakes, parmesan risotto, and grilled asparagus. One person had the braised short ribs with smashed potatoes, carrots, and brussels sprouts. And, lastly, the fifth person had a cup of French onion soup and the pasta dish that was the special that night (spinach ravioli in a cream sauce with grilled chicken). All of the dinners were nicely prepared, and the oysters and the seasoned fries deserve a special shout out, but everything seems to be just a little bland. For example, cocktail sauce was not served with the crabcakes, the pasta dish could have used pepper and/or a sprinkling of parmesan cheese on the top, and a smashed potatoes just needed salt and pepper. Everything was fixable, but it was surprising that anything needed to be fixed, if that makes sense. If you love crabcakes, this is the place to go. They are sizable and well-made. This was a first time visit for all of us, and we would definitely go back. The lunch/dinner menu is extensive, but the dessert menu is not. Side note about the desserts - The sticky toffee pudding with vanilla ice cream was very good, but spending five dollars for one small scoop of chocolate ice cream seems a tad steep, particularly since there’s an ice cream parlor right across the street. (We assumed they were almost out and just trying to split the last little bit between two people.) Everyone that work there, especially our server Rachel, was very friendly, helpful, and accommodating.

    the fried oysters are perfect. Really enjoyed the turkey burger and the best carrot cake I have ever tasted. Our Server Jean was very friendly and attentive. Great place for lunch or dinner.

    Great burger and fries, mushroom soup with truffle oil and lump crab meat is always creamy and flavorful. Buck a shuck oysters were fresh and sweet.Updated interior, clean, fresh. Staff attentive. Be prepared to park around the corner but it’s still close.
