Fantastic brunch with great service. Portions are large and we enjoyed both the food as well as the coffee. We even took home some tasty chocolate treats for later. Some of the tables located in the middle of the restaurant are quite small and we did find it to be a loud and chaotic atmosphere. Our server was more than up to the task but I think we would have enjoyed the experience more if we had chosen a less busy time. We visited on a Sunday at 12:30 p.m. We will definitely return however, as the high quality of the food and coffee more than made up for the noise.

This place never disappoints. It’s always lively with good food and drink. Our server was outstanding, probably one of the best we’ve had yet. He was knowledgeable, funny, and friendly. The service was amazingly fast for how crowded it was. All of the staff were friendly and helpful. The food was good, everyone enjoyed theirs. I wouldn’t come here if you’re looking to be wowed by the food but it’s tasty average American fare. They do have an incredible raw bar though if that’s what you like. It’s an extremely popular place so it can be very crowded and hard to get a reservation. Overall I loved it and will certainly go again.

What a vibe! So much charm, outstanding food, and great service. Prices are high, but large portions. Order family style … maybe 3 items for 6 people. That would have been just about right! Love this place.

Stepping into Ruthie's felt like walking into a slice of Southern charm. The ambiance was both beautiful and bright, with a welcoming atmosphere that instantly put me at ease. I opted for the smoke ham omelette, and it was a delightful choice. The eggs were perfectly fluffy, a testament to the chef's expertise—they were neither overdone nor runny, just the right balance. Accompanied by a glass of fresh, refreshing iced tea, the meal was truly satisfying. The server's kindness and attentiveness added to the experience, making it all the more enjoyable. Ruthie's is definitely a gem worth revisiting for its delicious cuisine and warm hospitality.

Discover Arlington

After you've seen all the monuments, your palate deserves a whirlwind culture tour too. Arlington is a short Metro hop away from the National Mall. It's home to everything from Greek dining that draws inspiration from Spanish tapas-style plating to restaurants where you can build your own burritos. Of course, areas like the Fashion Centre at Pentagon City and Pentagon Row are the places to be if you want the full upscale experience, but you're never out of walking distance from some of the D.C. area's famous freshly-cooked Ethiopian injera or Vietnamese pho. If you're worried about overdoing it, just remember that D.C. has the nation's highest number of vegan eateries per capita and features tons of vegetarian options.
