The staff went out of their way to accommodate the physical limitations of our 90 year old parent. We were moved to a more accessible area which as very much appreciated. The duty manager who seated us and took initial orders and then server were attentive and very professional. Our meals were first rate. Reason for 4 star for ambience is the choice of music did not work for us from a dining pleasure perspective and the sound level as we found it made conversation difficult.

Bonterra is one of our go-to restaurants, the food is always amazing and the ambience is excellent! I usually go during warmer weather to sit on the best patio in Calgary, but new years day in Calgary is not conducive to dining al fresco :-) so this was my first time dining inside - not as lovely as the patio of course but it was still very nice. The food was so good - there was 6 of us for a birthday dinner and so we were able to try a good variety of items on the menu, everything was well prepared and delicious, and the Bartender's Baby cocktail special was a big hit. Best of all was our server, she was an absolute delight and very attentive and friendly (without overdoing it).

We had a great time but the food was served too fast. We just got our starter and our meal was delivered a few minutes later so we wasted most of our starter dish. There is not one element of a fine dining experience that is missed. From the moment our transportation arrived at the front entrance to the moment that we left, it was perfection. Is there another restaurant out there that provides the attention to detail that Eden does in Banff or Calgary? I haven't come across it yet. We had the 8 course Grand Degustation menu, creative, well chosen and perfectly balanced to ensure that the diner has the right amount of food and thoughtfully paced. This will be our go to fine dining escape when we are in Banff going forward. Bravo!
