We had a Mother’s Day lunch, was lovely atmosphere and great service! The food was good but had quite small portions and the deserts were underwhelming. Other than that was a lovely lunch.

I booked, in secret, for my wife's birthday. I had asked them if I could pre order the food so we didn't have to wait as we were tight on time. I also asked if they could hold onto her gift from me and present it to her with the wine. All went perfectly with superb friendly service, amazing steaks, great value red wine. In and out within 60 minutes. Perfect

Staying overnight with our dog, booked into room 1, ideal, very dog friendly and the room was spotless, even a dog bed was supplied that seemed brand new, I took Bentley down to the bar for a pre dinner drink while my wife got ready, got chatting to locals, very friendly, my wife had fish and chips, she said it was delicious, I couldn't resist the rump steak with chips and peppercorn sauce, the sauce is one of the best I have ever had, washed down with a reasonably priced Argentinian Malbec, after food we went into the "snug" a comfortable room with leather armchairs and sofas , very relaxing and got chatting with more friendly locals until we could keep our eyes open no longer. Must mention the American Oregon beer, a dark flavoursome beer which is definitely worth a try. Well done Paul and Tracey you run a very good place !

As always both the food and staff were amazing. We have used this restaurant on a number of occasions, as my dad lives local to it. The staff always make take to come and talk to us during our visit and the food is always hot, well presented and delicious. The added benefit to us is that we can take our dog.

Lovely friendly welcome. Gave good advice on wine and beers. Food was good, nicely presented and tasty. Lovely outdoor seating area, perfect for a glass of wine in the afternoon sun. Would definitely recommend.

Reliably good, Sunday lunches are great,. We had dinner for 5, 1 on kids menu. No surprise quiet on a Tuesday night, food was fine, service a little distracted. Previously been with a large Pre ordered booking for 18, service was impeccable and separate dining rooms are lovely.

A lovely place with a lovely garden. Obviously very well managed, the staff without exception were so friendly and on the ball, taking such an obvious pride in their offering & customer service. The menu was good and all the dishes we had over 1 lunch and 2 evening meals were beautifully presented and very tasty.

The best meal that my wife and I have eaten in the Cotswolds during the many visits that we have made. The only reason for marking service as 'fair' was the delay in receiving our main course. The chef sent his apologies and I sent a message back to say that the quality of the main course made the wait worthwhile.

It was the first time that we had been there. The inn is a village like pub, the welcome when we arrived was very friendly, the tables are nicely spread out, being a pub as well it had a good drink selection. The menu had plenty of interesting options so many items to choose from. For starters we had the mackerel pate and the soup, both were very nice and flavoursome, for the main course we had the plaice and pork dishes. The pork was cooked very well, the crackling was perfect. The vegetables that came with the dishes was simple and very nice. The staff were very friendly, prompt in serving without rushing us. Will return and would recommend the inn.

A lovely New Years Eve at this restaurant. Staff and food excellent. They had been very sensible and staggered table times, one assumes to help the kitchen staff cope with the food times and it worked really well. Never felt rushed which is a big bonus for me.

The Wychwood was great for my mother's birthday.....they accommodated us in the 'snug' area and lit the fire for us too. It was great! Thank you for looking after us so well. The food too was delicious!

Great evening. Family group of 8 and we could relax and enjoy the evening with no problems. 1 of the party was a vegan and the hosts went out of their way to ensure her food choice was as good as everyone else's. I will return.

Really love this restaurant, just down the road to my dad’s retirement flat so we tend to use it a lot. Food is first class and staff are so attentive, nothing is too much trouble.

When. Arrived there was utter chaos in the car park. Apparently the owners daughter was having her friends there for Proseccobefore their graduation. It was mad trying to get in the car park. Lamb still red when it was brought to me, so I. Sent it back. There was blood on the plate. It was ok,when I got it back but we only got three new potatoes served with it and they were undercooked. No vegetables except the roasted beetroot. Not very filling at all. Pricey for what we got. And I hate this expression Hi Guys! I am not a guy and it is insulting to a lady. Americanisms! What is wrong with Sir and Madam?

We went to the Wychwood Inn with friends to celebrate our wedding anniversary and my wife's birthday. I did mention that it was her birthday in the comments section of the online booking form, but it was not acknowledged on the night - bit disappointing. The choice of main courses was limited. Having said that three of us chose the lamb rump and it was truly excellent. The starters were also good, albeit a bit light on quantity. Choice of desserts was limited, especially for my wife who is wheat intolerant (also mentioned on booking form). Not the best value for money in the area but worth a visit.

Lovely place and really welcoming staff. Sadly food is poor. Thick puréed soup needed liquid adding and a bread roll that was so hard it couldn't be broken! Everyone tried. Even though we sent it back with comments nothing was taken off the bill. Tasteless gnocchi ( burnt not sure how that can happen) and the fish was a really small fillet, over cooked with plain boiled potatoes and some asparagus very dull and tasteless but very pricey! Could have made it better at home. On a positive note everyone who had the roast beef said it was very good indeed. This place would be lovely if it had a better chef. The menu and marketing present it as a reall foodie find with local sourcing etc, but it's probably more of a chain pub/carvery level. Really the overall quality does not command the prices charged which are high. Shame really... wouldn't return.

As a person who grew up in the village I have seen the Wychwood Inn change. We return to the village a few times every year. The food is of very high quality and the staff helpful and friendly. There are many good places to eat in the area but this is probably the most relaxing. It is spotlessly clean and is very welcoming to our granddaughter when she joins us. One thing that is important to me, when I go out, is the comfort of the seating and space - this modern updated restaurant provides both.
