The highest quality Texas prime beef is the main focus at The Y.O. Ranch Steakhouse but its legendary for its extensive wild game selection, and many of those same animals roam freely over our 48,000 acre ranch and namesake near Kerrville, Texas. For those in the mood to try something out of the ordinary, The Y.O. offers venison, elk, wild boar, game birds, and our signature dish, the Buffalo Filet Mignon. Most of the beef at The Y.O. is local Texas Black Angus beef and hand cut in house. We employ a method very similar to the one the ranch hands have been using for more than 125 years.

Y.O. Ranch Steakhouse is proud to announce that we are now offering catering services through Cohost in 2019! Cohost is a catering service that partners up with other restaurants in the Dallas area. They provide the actual catering services that include dishes, silverware, servers and bartenders. Essentially, whatever a customer needs for their event, Cohost can provide within reason. Where does your favorite downtown steakhouse come in? Essentially, we provide the food, partner up with them, and allow you to enjoy the best steak in Dallas. When guests want to inquire about catering, they can visit their website and search based on category or cuisine. From there, customers can focus on their budget and be directed in the right direction of what restaurant will be the best fit for their gathering. Once you’ve picked our restaurant, we then receive the order form with the date, time and number of people for the event, and ensure that the food is ready.

They have a policy not to seat the party until all are present, I think this policy stinks in general and also costs the establishment potential revenue. I don’t revisit restaurants with this policy.

I have been going to the YO steakhouse for 6yrs. I always order the porterhouse steak with smoked potato. Never have I been disappointed. I know they are known for there wildgame but, I know without a doubt when I go and order the porterhouse I will have the best steak hands down!

In town on business and found the Y.O. Steakhouse through Google. After reading some reviews, We booked our reservation on open table. This place was fantastic. Everything was amazing. The fritters, corn chowder, our steaks, and sides were perfectly executed. I enjoyed the bone in Ribeye and my wife had the 6oz fillet. It was absolutely phenomenal. One of the top 5 meals I have in a restaurant. We will be back here again before we leave town!

We go the the YO every time we are in Dallas. The food is consistently amazing and the service is excellent. Recommend the venison roll ups and the mixed game grill.

The only complaint I have is that when we arrived our party was not complete and we had to wait to be seated until the third person (the table was booked for three) arrived.

We had a 5:45 reservation on a Friday night. We got right in. Our server was great. I’m sorry I don’t have her name. We loved the TX atmosphere. There were 4 of us. We had Broccoli Spears, mushrooms and mashed potatoes. All were good. The Filet Mignon was full of flavor and juicy. The quail was good (we ordered that off the appetizer menu). The Ribeye was full of flavor and cooked to perfection. The only complaint I have is that the Ribeye was a little tough, not tender. The manager was going to all of the tables checking on us. He was pleasant. It was a little more expensive than we normally pay but we’ll be back. Sorry no photos.

At first glance on the internet I thought it was going to have rustic cowboy decor. The decor was very classy and elegant with a touch of rustic. I was very impressed. The food was absolutely delicious. If you are thinking about visiting…go! Also, try the non traditional meats…they are fantastic

We had reservations for a very early seating, right when they opened, on New Year’s Eve. The hostess was not friendly in the least and thought we were a party of two despite the fact there were three of us standing at the counter. She even sent us back to be seated at a two top with two menus and had to correct it while we stood by by awkwardly. We were sat in a sort of annex off the main restaurant that feels like a glorified cafeteria. Even with the Christmas lights and tablecloths it was a let down having walked through the main dining area which was spectacular. When we left it looked like they sat guests who were wearing dinner jackets and dresses in the main dining area. Disappointing. We were dressed up but apparently not enough. Because we were an early reservation that seemed to cause some issues with our meal - we didn’t get the family style side dishes we ordered because they ‘didn’t go thru’ when they were rung in. Thing is - no one noticed until we said something and they were far from busy. We had a lovely bottle of wine that was $$$ but when our check came - it was not on the bill. I let them know wanting to be confirm if it was intentional due to the missed sides but no - it wasn’t. It just never got rung up until I asked about it. Now the good things. The food was spectacular. We each had three courses and everything we tried was incredible. Perfectly prepared wild game and prime rib. Innovative desserts like cherry and bone marrow sundae. Truly - the food was excellent. The chef and the manager both stopped by our table during the meal to ask how things were. This night was the sundaes debut! Lol Our waitress was wonderful. Just the right amount of friendly and very attentive. Despite our disappointment with the surroundings - it was a great meal. Now we know — if we want to sit in the main dining area which has the best ambiance to go with the incredible food - read their dress code but take it over the top with what you choose to wear.

We take pride in our entire restaurant and I’m sure if it would have been brought to our attention, we would have tried our best to accommodate another seating option. Loved the look and feel of the space. Our server was attentive. The best thing we ate was the wedge salad. Our steaks were not salted and flavor overall was lacking. Ordered a prime ribeye and it is highly questionable if it actually was prime quality. Brussels appeared to be cooked two different ways and mostly presented as if they were steamed-also lacking flavor. We won’t return to eat here. Too many better options for the same price.
