Not for the food....the Ambiance and show we’re spectacular. Service and food was lacking. Ordered chicken and they didn’t have the vegetables that were on the menu to go with it. Ordered substitute Brussel sprouts and colliflour and they messed that up. It took forever to get my food and when I finally got it they forgot the coliflour . We had to get to the show.
Love this restaurant, I’m a new vegetarian and they had a good selection of vegetarian dishes. I loved that they took care of our seating arrangement for the concert
I ordered the Kale & Baby Romaine Miso Caesar Salad, which mostly consisted of the bottom lettuce stalks, and would have been nice to have with the Shrimp & Scallops Fritters that came a lot later. That was kind of disappointing. Otherwise, it's a great place.
The ambiance and the fabulous JONATHAN BUTLER were amazingly!!
They were just putting me on as a no-show but i showed up in the nick-of-time
Not usual service time for food. Was long and one person in party at alone after requesting chicken dish, then was not expected Yoshi quality, tasted like microwave food. I'm a frequent patron not sure other party members will return.
Yoshi's is a win - every time! Service was slow this time, but the restaurant was extremely busy. Food is always delicious.
great time and good jazz show
Delicious food and incredible service. Ideal dinner and show location. I especially love the venue- intimate, great acoustics.
Went for a show. Good rolls, shisito peppers were awesome, enjoyed it
We were a group of four people who had dinner at Yoshi's on Friday evening. We thoroughly enjoyed our food and learned that our waiter was originally from Ohio ! (Same as our group). We all would recommend dinner at Yoshi's ! We
Seated for dinner ahead of our reservation time! Food came quickly and accurately. Great seats for the concert!
Visiting family and wanted to see Chris Standring. We decided to dine at Yoshi’s before the show and totally enjoyed our evening
We have attended concerts there in the past and will continue to have dinner there since this was such a wonderful experience
The wine & food were exquisite
Been to Yoshi's many times, always to take advantage of preferred seating for show. Everything about the restaurant is serviceable and consistent, neither bad of great. I will say they do have creative sushi dishes that are not easily fond.
Amazingly quick service. Perfect for a pre-show meal.
Our table was waiting on time. We were served quickly with a friendly smile. Love to Miso soup and all the sushi offerings. The staff set us up in the theater with excellent seats.
The Experience was a winner! From the greeting to the service to great music.
The food , environment and the service was excellent. Celena was amazing. Give her a raise.
Yoshi's has been one of our go-to places for family celebrations for 20+ years. The food is delicious and there are cooked options for those who don't like sushi. Service is always awesome. Some of the offerings are trendy and a shade too cute for my taste: sushi rolls in local team colors, for instance, but the superfan in our group loved her Oakland A's roll. They offer beautiful classic sushi and sashimi along with more inventive goodies.
Went to have dinner and see Eric Benet with my wife. Had a fantastic time. Food was great, the show was amazing with a great vibe and atmosphere. Very fun place to see a show. Would recommend to anyone.
Our waiter was great. The support staff seemed a bit confused about what was ordered, but even with that our waiter took care of everything.
It started terrible. We had reservations for 130 pm that they knew nothing about. Didn’t get seated til 2pm then no food till an hour later. During the process nothing but excuses we are under staffed the manager won’t be in till later our computers are down so we missed our movie which started at 330 terrible experience
Great service. Awesome food
Our dinners were delicious with generous portions and a great bargain for the price. The cocktail that our wait person recommended was as described and delicious as well. The wait staff was attentive without hovering. The only disappointment was the brownie dessert which was dry and flavorless. The black cod ( also recommended) was fresh and perfectly cooked. The calamari and fritter were crispy without being greasy. And all the salads we had were outstanding
Had a great time.
What a fun place with great quality and taste. Oakland ‘s Jack London Square does not get recognized for what a nice place it is. Worth your dollars and your appetite.
Yoshi’s is always solid and an Oakland mainstay. It never quite meets true fine dining as there always seems to be confusion or a little chaos, but it’s a great spot to grab food pre-show. Decent menu options, especially on the sushi side.
Very calm ambiance. Low lighting, romantic. Waiter was nice and attentive but not intrusive. My only qualm was that they really pack the seats in the performance area. The seats were so close together I could not adjust my own seat, or scoot my chair back or forward to use the restroom.
Haven’t been to Yoshi’s in years-wanted to have a little post New Year celebration with a friend. The place was packed. The noise level was so extreme the three of us. Oils not follow a conversation. The service was attentive, but VERY rushed even though we told our waiter we were not going to the show and have plenty of time. Food tasty, but not an enjoyable experience. Will not go back. Plenty of other restaurants nearby.
Very good food and service. Rib Eye with mushrooms and soy sauce was awesome! The club is the best. Pacific Mambo Orchestra was great!
Dinner was wonderful. Sashimi was fresh and tasty. Wine list is nice and also affordable. Service was spot on. Tickets for a wonderful show at 8:00 were provided in advance. Dinner prior to a show is a no brainer. We have always been very satisfied through the years.
The scallops and pork belly were exceptional... That was one of the seven dishes we ordered. Tuna tartare was mushy - did not taste fresh, and was not chilled at all when it arrived. We had ordered the dishes in the order we wished to enjoy them. Everything arrived almost at once, so virtually nothing was consumed at the correct temperature.
Nonetheless, the jazz venue is superb, parking easy, so we will be back. But we won't try to do a fine dining experience. Maybe just stick to sashimi and a salad.
1-the Sea Bass was chewey not moist (melt in your mouth);
2-was scheduled to see a show (while spending way over $100+)
3-upon entering auditorium the host had the nerve to tell me I had to wait 2 MINUTES (keep in mind I had VIP Tics, a drink in my hand and other hostess holding my food) !!!!! Bad service.
4-Just over all BAD Service. Poor Yoshi, this appears to be not HER Club anymore. She ran a TOP NOTCH EVENT.
FYI - my experience: I traveled around researching Jazz Clubs aroubd the world. We are developing a Local $90M Jazz Museum here in the Bay Area.
I miss Yoshi!!!!
Quite an experience. Food was okay, service was good, music was great!
We arranged to surprise my brother and sister-in-law for their anniversary with 2 other couples and brought our own champagne. Staff immediately took care of chilling our champagne, getting us the most desirable seats for the show and suggesting the way to order for all 8 of us. The only complait: food came out way too fast from the kitchen...but it was hot and fresh!
Good food and policy of reserving seats if you dine before show adds considerable value. My only complaint was that the kitchen was slow to deliver the food, so two sushi rolls arrived moments before we were to finish our dinner and head for the show.
Great anniversary dinner and great company. Parking was great I the garage attached to the restaurant.
