Best Contemporary American Restaurants in Texas Hill Country

My boyfriend and I decided to take a trip to Austin for a quick getaway from Houston. We are staying at The Loren hotel and we had dinner for the first time at Nido. The moment we walked in, the service was impeccable from the staff to the decor and incredible views from their outside patio area. You can see Austin downtown skyline from your seat at night, truly breathtaking. Our server Tim is amazing, I will definitely ask for him each and every time we are in town. We ordered the Edamame and their Oysters, oh my goodness it was so flavorful and delicious. Next, I had ordered the Scallops with a side of Broccolini and it had a lemon twist to it, very good. Lastly we ended the night with their Pear Cinnamon Roll, that is a MUST!!! Everything was top tier and am so pleased with this restaurant. Thank you Tim for taking such great care of us!!

Guest House was an amazing experience from start to finish! The vibe and atmosphere were incredible - warm, welcoming, and full of charm that made our date night an eventful experience. The Alice in Wonderland themed drinks were creative and beautifully presented, adding such a fun and whimsical touch. We started off with the crab cake, caviar salmon cones and spicy rigatoni which were all phenomenal beginners. We also had Cesar salads for the table and I opted for The Wagu rib eye and my husband with the short rib which were all perfectly cooked and full of flavor, also the bread was some of the best I've ever had. Great service, great energy, and a place I'll definitely be coming back to!

We were early to our reservation so we headed to the marina where the kids were able to fish for 25$ all in fishing pole and bait. When we sat down for dinner, the tone was set for a great night with great views of the lake and live music. Staff was incredibly friendly excluding the female hostess but I'll let that slide, maybe she had a bad day. For dinner my husband ordered the tacos paired with an IPA, the kids had the mac-n-cheese and chicken fingers, and I enjoyed the duck rice with a glass of red - we all give the food a thumbs up.
